## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.4 — 2026-10-05

Share documents: When you're viewing a vaccination certificate, prescription, or medical record attachment, tap the new share button to send the file by AirDrop, Messages, or email, or save it to Files.
Fixed PDF imports from Google Drive and other cloud storage: Attaching a PDF to a vaccination or treatment record could silently do nothing, or fail with "Couldn't communicate with helper application" the first time. Imports now retry automatically, show an "Importing file…" indicator, and tell you if something really goes wrong.

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-24

Fixed an issue where some users were seeing a "Long Time Since Last Sync" warning when opening the app after a few weeks away, even when iCloud sync was working normally. The warning is now reserved for devices that have genuinely been out of sync for an extended period.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-07-16

What's New in 2.0.1

Fixed: the "Long Time Since Last Sync" warning was showing on every single launch instead of only when actually needed.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-06-23

What's New in PetRecs 2.0.0

This release is a major reliability upgrade for syncing across multiple devices and family sharing.

Fixed the underlying cause of a rare but serious bug where duplicate or outdated pet records could appear after syncing on a device that hadn't been used in a while.
Added a safety check that warns you if a long-unused device is about to sync pet data that might be out of date.
Fixed an issue where the last remaining pet on a device couldn't be deleted.
New: tap the version number at the bottom of your pet list (or visit Settings) to see what's changed in each update.

### 1.2.12 — 2026-05-27

This update improves reliability when syncing across multiple devices.

Duplicate pet cleanup — If iCloud ever creates a duplicate copy of a pet during a sync hiccup, PetRecs now automatically removes it at startup. No phantom pets, no manual cleanup needed.
Smarter restore — When importing a backup file, you can now choose to replace existing pets with the file's version. Useful if a sync problem left you with a stale copy and you have a good backup to restore from.
