It’s a bald faced lie that it scans. This should not be on the App Store. Ever since Steve Jobs died Apple gets worse every year. ### 1/5 — Do not use to transfer pet - charged but pet not added *2024-01-15, version 1.1.22* Total rubbish, been charged but pets not added to my account. It is clunky, unresponsive, shows incorrect information about the pet and will not allow the incorrect info to be corrected. Breeders, please do not use microchips from this company. Once chipped, owners have to use this company to register their pet or get the chip replaced. ### 1/5 — Payment taken but pet not able to be added! *2023-09-29, version 1.1.22* App kept crashing when opened, I should have take that as a warning, as eventually when payment was taken adding a pet was just a spinning wheel. Was able to to insert chip number but got no further. Also offered a discount for multiple pets which is appreciated but after paying on the website instead we found that the discount is only when paying via the app. I have now seen there is a warning that the app may not work for all, SO MAYBE THE PROVIDERS SHOULD HAVE THIS AS A WARNING ON THE APP! ### 1/5 — Fake *2023-09-11, version 1.1.22* Makes you create an account before saying you need to buy a scanner lol! ### 1/5 — Na *2023-07-04, version 1.1.22* I just want to scan a pet for microchip. In some rural places such as north Wales that’s an invalid assumption. It’s a joke, your company is a joke hope you go broke ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. *2025-09-23, version 1.1.22* I can’t even log into my account to see anything. Keeps saying there’s an issue. How can I find out where my cat was scanned if I can’t see the history? It doesn’t come up on the website!! So please get this sorted!!! ### 1/5 — Sub is a scam *2025-08-07, version 1.1.22* You pay £2.99 to register your pet (fair enough) - but the £2.99 quarterly sub payment service is ‘optional’ but is actually automatically added to your account with no way to remove prior via the website (per their faq) - you have to go into Paypal > payments > pre-approved > find the payment and cancel it re-occurring or they’ll have you for £2.99 per quarter. Scummy. ### 1/5 — crashed *2025-07-22, version 1.1.22* just crashes when trying to register ### 1/5 — Rubbish App *2025-06-22, version 1.1.22* Bought my puppy and the previous owner had a chip installed and the paperwork was for this rubbish app. My Apple Pay has set up the subscription but the app won’t “protect” my puppy and register her details. I don’t recommend this app and wish that the seller had not used their chip. ### 1/5 — Took money but can’t add my pet *2025-01-14, version 1.1.22* Paid the 2.99 to register my pet but every time I put my code in it’s just a spinning wheel. ### 1/5 — Does not scan *2024-12-09, version 1.1.22* You still need to buy a scanner ### 1/5 — Keep crashing *2024-09-25, version 1.1.22* I wanted to scan a pet to see how it works but it keeps crashing. Every time it crashes and I open it again I have to login. Then I click scan a pet and crashes. Had to remove as the idea of being able to scan lost pets is great but the app just doesn’t work at all for me. ### 1/5 — Ropey *2024-08-29, version 1.1.22* My wife has this and suggested I install too for our new puppy. However I couldn’t log in on her account and am required to create my own account. The links to the EULA, privacy policy and terms and conditions don’t work but I’m expected to tick a box to say I’ve read them before I can create an account. All seems ropey as hell to me so I’ve backed out and will be deleting. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Massive improvement *2026-04-02, version 2.0.3* The app has massively improved since an update, no longer crashes all of the time and the style has got better. The scanners can also be used multiple times now without having to reconnect. ### 5/5 — Great!! *2019-07-09, version 1.0.8* Great idea and very reasonably priced. Still have some teething problems with the iOS app but customer service is awesome. If you have any problems go through FB messenger to contact and they reply almost instantly. Overall 👍 ### 3/5 — App keeps crashing *2024-02-21, version 1.1.22* App kept crashing while trying to register my pets microchips. Subscription set and payment taken for first of two puppies. Then just stopped and would not progress. Just faced with “wheel of death”. Have this app 3 stars only due to customer service from Kieran. Was facing the fact that I would have to get another company to fit new chips but Kieran sent an online link to register the chips on PetScanner. This worked but have now been charged further £2.99 per pet but I used PayPal this time. PetScanner advice - contact Apple for a refund as they cannot process it. Have checked pets details are now showing using web link, So will not let me in. Says details not recognised! Not a happy bunny here and this has taken a lot longer than necessary.
