## What is Pewtimer?

PewTimer is a high-contrast shot timer and stage scoring companion built for focused range practice. Record every shot and split, then score each hit from 0-10 to calculate points per second.

Review each string with BEST, AVG, and SPREAD stats. Save labels, organize sessions with USPSA, IDPA, Steel, or Custom discipline tags, and spot personal bests in your history. The Progress view summarizes best totals by shot-count band and charts your recent average-split trend.

Use guided ambient calibration to tune detection for your range before a session. When you are done, create a shareable image card or export saved history as JSON or CSV for your own records.

PewTimer is designed for quick use at the range:
- Large, high-contrast controls
- Per-shot times and split review
- Optional 0-10 scoring with PTS/S
- BEST, AVG, and SPREAD summaries
- Discipline tags, labels, and PB badges
- Progress trends across saved strings
- Guided microphone calibration
- Share cards and JSON/CSV export

No account is required. PewTimer does not use cloud sync; saved timer history remains on your device unless you choose to share or export it.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-29

PewTimer 1.2 — Score your strings

- Per-shot scoring: After stopping, tap SCORE SHOTS and walk through each shot assigning a 0–10 value. PewTimer calculates your score automatically — total points divided by string time (points-per-second).
- Session stats at a glance: The review screen now shows BEST, AVG, and SPREAD for every string before you save.
- Progress & personal bests: A new Progress tab tracks your average-split trend and flags PBs in your history as you improve.
- Tag your strings: Label saved strings and tag them USPSA, IDPA, Steel, or Custom.
- Share your results: Export a branded image of any scored string straight to your range group chat.
- Guided Setup: New calibration wizard measures your range's ambient noise and a test shot, then suggests the right detection threshold for you.
- First-run setup: New onboarding gets your microphone permission sorted before you hit the range.
- Housekeeping: Delete saved strings, refined default detection sensitivity, and a cleaner, consistent button style throughout.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-23

- New: Guided Setup calibration — the app now measures your range's ambient noise and one test shot, then suggests the detection threshold for you (Settings → Calibration → Guided Setup).

- New: Label your saved strings — name a string when you save it (e.g. "Stage 3 classifier") and it appears in your history. Edit labels anytime.

- New: Shooting disciplines — tag strings as USPSA, IDPA, Steel, or Custom from the review screen or your history.

- New: String stats — the review screen now shows your best split, average, and spread at a glance.

- New: Share your strings — send a branded image of any string (splits, stats, and label included) straight to your range group chat.

- Improved: More consistent button sizing across the timer and review screens; refined default shot-detection sensitivity.
