### 1/5 — Looking for PG&E Account

*2023-03-14*

What the heck!! I’ve made several attempts in course of several months to download your App and it still bring up a map I don’t need or care for. With the amount of increased rates your company imposed on your customers, you can’t even come up with a decent app. Ugh!!!

### 1/5 — Horrible Waste of Time

*2023-02-24*

Didn’t even keep it an hour before deleting.

### 1/5 — Fake app prevents you from reporting a problem

*2022-08-05*

Unbelievably, PG&E’s “Report it” app requires you to first register your email address with them, then wait *SEVEN DAYS* while they process your registration BEFORE you can report a problem. Other than PG&E employees, first responders and other specialists, what % of the general public downloading the app will be doing so specifically to report an immediate problem? (and discovering the app won’t let them report it!) And what % of those people will never face a reportable problem with PG&E equipment other than that one time when they downloaded the app? This is clearly designed to help PG&E try to improve their horrible public image by saying “look at all the ways we’re offering the public to report problems”, while designing the app to make it impossible for a very high percentage of the public to report anything the one time they need to.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The Report It app is a pilot program for customers living in the highest risk wildfire areas. Customers in these areas were invited to use the app. If their email is on file with us, there’s no wait to submit a ticket. Others in lower wildfire risk areas can also use the app, but they may be subject to a wait of up to 7-days before they are granted access. The app was designed for non-emergency issues, so items requiring an urgent response should not be submitted using this app. If an issue needs immediate response, call 1-800-742-5000.

### 1/5 — Fatal flaw

*2022-06-22*

I wanted to report an arcing transformer outside my house. However the app doesn’t let me report anything until they “clear” my email. That can take up to 7 days? Guess I’ll just call their phone number and bypass the app as it’s currently useless to me.

### 1/5 — I don’t think the lights are on at PG&E!

*2022-01-28*

It’s 2022… you monitor your grid via Satellites, unmanned drones, and various wireless technologies, almost all the power meters are “SMART” and have the ability to share all sorts of data and statistics (in real time) that would be of great benefit to your customers (and their family members) that go UNDER UTILIZED….HOWEVER, you still do not have your own APP for your customers to manage their accounts or communicate with your team of customer service representatives!

You have taken the time, man power, and money to develop this glorified Google Map Safety app, but it’s not really finished, not fully deployed and you tell us it’s by “invitation only” Like it’s some sort of special club….ohhhhh! Awwww! There are only 40 reviews, probably from the 40 customers who have now deleted it from their phone because its of no use to them unless they were “invited” into your special club. And what’s with that 3.3 out of 5.0 stars? Apparently your Club members have turned on you!

Come on guys and gals… this is 2022, this is the great state of California, your headquarters are surrounded by companies whose entire existence is based on their APP (UBER, TWITTER, VRBO)… and this is the best you can do for us? I have resided in homes powered by PG&E my entire life (59 years worth), I want you to be the best there is in this Power Generation and Delivery game… I want to be able to tell my friends living in other states that my Power Company is BETTER than your power company!

But in the meantime, I will follow the link out of the APP over to some horse and buggy technology called the Internet, and add my EMAIL address (who still does this?) to your special list hoping that one day I’ll be Invited into your group… I’m thinking that it might be faster if I dig out my old TIN CANS and STRINGand “call” someone over there! But I’m pretty sure I recycled them already… this is California after all!

### 1/5 — What a waste

*2021-10-01*

Upon my first use of the app, I could not complete past my first screen because “PG & E could not recognize my email address, and offered me to get on a waiting list”
Get on a waiting list to report a hazard?
What a waste of time

### 1/5 — Unable to Submit Report

*2021-09-29*

This app does not function and is useless—can’t make any progress beyond entering my email address.

**Developer response:** Hi Dmitri, we're sorry that you experienced this. Our app had technical problems on September 27 and 28. The problem has been resolved, but if you continue to have issues using the app, please contact us at SafetyAppTeamSupport@pge.com.

### 1/5 — Needs help!

*2021-09-15, version 1.4*

Great idea. App needs debugging.

### 1/5 — App hangs up, II

*2021-08-28*

Just downloaded the app, won’t let me scroll down to acknowledge it’s a concern, but not an emergency.

What’s wrong with PG&E?

My neighbor’s oak tree dropped a limb and knocked out power to over 6,000 customers last Sunday. PG&E wouldn’t allow them to hire an arborist (too close to their lines) and they have been aware of the problem for months. Poor neighbors had no options, how expensive is it to do an emergency repair to the power lines and all the other utility lines???

**Developer response:** We’re sorry that you experienced this issue. If you still have a safety concern, please call us at 1-800-743-5000.

We’d like to look into the problem you had with our app and would appreciate it if you could send details about your experience, including the type of iPhone you are using, to SafetyAppTeamSupport@pge.com.

### 1/5 — What the heck is the point of this app!???

*2021-08-03, version 1.1*

I don’t know why this app is even available. You can’t get access to it because it says you must be invited but how do you get invited???? Super silly. I thought this could be used to check on PSP events or other power outages but no. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Needs upgrades

*2021-08-02, version 1.1*

It started, then just hangs on the map. I have to close it to get out. Needs tech help.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2021-08-01, version 1.1*

After being led here by the PG&E website, I was hoping that this might be a way to report very dangerous looking poles on the property that I just purchased. However, after several attempts just simply enter my address, I get a message saying “Daily Limit Lookup Error. Please try again later.”
Pretty useless if an app designed to allow you to report dangerous power poles prevents you from reporting those poles. This is crap.

### 1/5 — App doesn't work

*2021-07-13, version 1.0*

Can't enter information

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-07-09*

The app got back to me and said the equipment doesn’t belong to PGE! Case closed. This is nonsense. The wires crossing our yard belong to PGE. The landlord had to go to great lengths to get hold of them by phone instead.

### 1/5 — Photo issue

*2025-06-01*

Photos from an iPhone are too big - ap doesn't tell you what size works.

### 1/5 — Fatal flaw

*2025-05-21*

Reported a badly corroded transformer. They keep asking for more pictures, video, etc.
I’m reporting a safety issue, but rather than sending someone to take a look they just want to keep asking for more so I’ll get tired and give up. Just send someone to look.

### 1/5 — No wonder PGE is in trouble

*2024-12-19*

Get it together, PG&E how can you have the public try to help you if your app that you advertise on your website doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Failure at step 1

*2024-02-13*

Can’t even register. Had plenty of time since I’ve been on hold for 35 minutes already trying to leave a broken meter report. The app is representative of the company.

### 1/5 — Why no app for the rest of us?

*2024-01-16*

I am a PG&E customer of many years, but my electricity is with SMUD. I would like to track my daily gas usage like I do my electrical on the SMUD app, but PG&E doesn’t have such an app, only one to report electrical outages. Why?

### 1/5 — Annoying App

*2023-12-27*

This app doesn’t work to pay my bill. Very frustrating and misleading.
Please help

### 1/5 — Pay app

*2023-10-18, version 1.10.5*

Why not create an app?

### 1/5 — Worst power company ever

*2023-09-02*

Just leaving a review here since they make it impossible to give feedback anywhere else.
This is the worst and most incompetent power company ever. Don’t count on them to fix anything, they’re only here for your money.

### 1/5 — Useless at its one job

*2023-03-26*

Went through 10 pages of instructions and finally got to the upload page. Clicked submit and then got an “upload error”. This is literally the point of the app. Guys - forget the how to wizards and just get uploading rock solid.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worked Really Well for Me - 2/24

*2025-02-04*

TLDR: I did not see any of the (many) problems reported in much earlier reviews. I was able to easily create a report, received quick updates on the status of the issue, and crew came same day to address the issue. Highly recommend this app for reporting problems.

I noticed a broken branch leaning on a service drop after a recent storm. I was able to easily report the problem, including location and photos. I did need to provide an email address, but did not need to wait for approval of the address or create an account. It allows you to use your camera to take photos while creating the report, or use saved photos from your photo library. Tip: if you're taking photos to make a report later, take a photo of the ID tags on the nearest utility pole; they want that photo in the report.

After submitting a report, I received an email acknowledging receipt of the report, and then another once it had been assigned. A crew arrived later the same day to fix the problem. Great experience all around.

I noticed that the developer is issuing regular updates to the app, so not only have they addressed many of the issues people complained about earlier, they are actively maintaining it.

So, if you have a non-emergency PG&E issue to report, I highly recommend using this app. Also write a positive review (or at least a rating). There are lots of negative reviews, but most of them are old.

### 5/5 — Application works well

*2021-09-29*

This is a valuable application in this current drought era. We can all do our part now to help PGE keep their power lines safe.

**Developer response:** We're sorry you experienced this issue. We were having technical issues on September 27 and September 28 that have now been resolved. If you continue to have problems, please reach out to us at SafetyAppTeamSupport@pge.com.

### 4/5 — December 2021

*2021-12-09*

It seems to work well enough. There is a waiting list on their website to get on before you download the app so you can log in fully.

### 3/5 — Not as useful as it could be

*2024-02-06*

You have to register to report anything, and it can take 24hrs for your registration to be approved. So, if you see a hazard when you’re out and about, you can’t effectively report it if your registration isn’t complete. Doesn’t look like there’s any option to report as a guest. You’ll be better off calling their emergency number.

### 2/5 — PG&E

*2022-11-24*

I have looked all over this app and the App Store. How do you pay your bill???? I had the app to pay my bill on my other iPhone. Then when I upgraded to my new iPhone. Went to download my apps, this was the only option for PG&E. But you can’t. Pay your Bill!!! I have to go to my old phone and use the app I have on it to pay!! Because that app can’t be found. Just this report it crap. So what’s the deal???

### 2/5 — Just downloaded and it doesn’t appear to work

*2021-09-28*

Kind of a sad statement of PG&E overall. I received their large flashy introduction to a new app. Saying this is part of their new and improved safety toolkit.

I downloaded it, launched the app, it brings up a map and places me on the map. Then immediately flashes you a message say there is an “error cannot connect to the server, try again later wIth an OK button”

If this is part of a safety toolkit (their words) for report and view critical problems then you would think they would make sure the app was bulletproof.

**Developer response:** We're sorry that you experienced this. Our app had technical problems on September 27 and 28. The problem has been resolved, but if you continue to have issues using the app, please contact us at SafetyAppTeamSupport@pge.com.

### 2/5 — Does someone test this app ?

*2021-08-08, version 1.2*

Can’t submit photo which s already on my phone.

### 2/5 — App hangs up

*2021-07-09, version 1.0*

The app gets stuck when I try to submit a report. I can’t progress past where I enter my email and what describes me (utility worker, general public, etc).
