Plus the paper doesn’t fit the width on the iPad. ### 2/5 — Regrets *2024-08-04, version 5.4.4* The Post Gazette has deep regrets for having endorsed Donald Trump in 2016. This error helped this guy to destroy so much that was good in America and also lead to 110,000 covid deaths and 100s of thousands of more maimed by the virus and the destruction of the USA economy. The Post Gazette has power of an endorsement. Do you really expect me to read it without newsslide? ### 4/5 — Good app *2024-03-12, version 5.2.0* I like the app and the e-delivery option but I wish there was a setting to automatically delete old downloaded editions. Unfortunately, in today’s world this app is very slow. It takes too long to load. Then it freezes frequently. This newer version is still full of glitches. I’ve had trouble with it loading the current daily version many times especially the weekend edition. Column headlines are not fully visible. Also there is a lot of white space on the pages. Old version was much better. It says “A new edition is available” and I tap on it (on my iPad). It comes up with a blank green screen that says “menu” at the bottom and I wait and wait. Still nothing. Then I go to the 3 bars at the top left to “sections.” Only the first section shows up of the 3. I tap on it. And the whole thing disappears, back to my page of icons. Very disappointing. They know that we are a captive audience. Terrible service, less information, less news! I want the 4 am email and other update emails thru the day. I like the PDF format in the am. There is NO PRINT VERSION AVAILABLE. It seems like a simple matter. Customer Service and others at PPG are nice - but apparently are unable to resolve the matter. My 2 local papers manage to provide print copies 6 days a week and easily accessed online editions - why can’t the PPG at least send me the daily emails? ### 1/5 — Bug fix 5.4.9 *2025-03-20, version 5.4.9* I was forced to update the app but now the “fix” forces the app to a login screen that doesn’t work when clinking on the button to enter credentials. Everything was fine before this fix but now I cannot use the app. ### 1/5 — Problem with new update 12 Nov 24 *2024-11-12, version 5.4.6* New version doesn’t display correctly on iPad. Cuts titles and text ### 1/5 — No internet connection *2024-04-27, version 5.4.1* This new version is terrible. Most of the time it says no internet connection when trying to get today’s edition. Even after downloading, you can’t skip to a different section due to, again, no internet connection. ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service!! *2023-11-14, version 5.1.0* The 800 number doesn’t answer. ### 1/5 — Slows down over time *2023-11-13, version 5.1.0* The app is great for reading the paper. Unfortunately it slows down over time. Their solution is to delete the app and reinstall it. It seems like there should be a better way. I don’t have to do this with other apps. Today Monday Nov 13, 2023 the app is trying to open the edition for Tuesday November 14. That is tomorrows paper. It does not exist. It is stuck. I deleted it and reinstalled it and it is doing the same thing. This app would be great if it worked. ### 1/5 — PGe *2023-09-25, version 5.1.0* The old version was much better. The new version takes forever to download the paper. Never had a problem with the older version. ### 1/5 — I hate the news slide *2023-08-31, version 5.1.0* I hate the PG new slide, it is confusing to use and not like actual newspaper. You cannot even see the obituary page. I prefer I PG e-delivery app much like real paper, and the obituary page is also present. ### 1/5 — App support *2023-08-11, version 5.0.6* This app apparently can only be viewed in the landscape mode. Email to support and the post gazette have gone unanswered. The app that was replaced by this was 100 percent better. Bring that app back. Never really had a problem with the app. Still like the physical paper in my hands but the pdf version is a great substitute. Plus you can access related articles from the highlighted portions of current paper. Also easy to forward articles via e mail or text. Overall very happy. Will miss the paper when they cease operations. Don’t watch the local news but now I may have to, to get local information. ### 5/5 — Unhappy *2024-04-23, version 5.4.0* I really liked the Newslide format. This change is frustrating. First and foremost it does not work with the individualized text size feature so that even with readers I have to pinch and move around the text block to see the article. Second the games are NOT interactive as stated in the description but rather printable. I will try it for about a week, see if it is easier to read on my iPad vs my phone, but strongly anticipate canceling my subscription. I do wish, however, that the app would auto delete stories from prior days. Nice mix of articles although a bit too much Sports news. But hey, we’re the City of Champions and the Pirates so I get it. ### 5/5 — A loyal and grateful subscriber *2019-01-15* I appreciate the slide on those days the paper is not in in my driveway. As a 50 year subscriber since my 3 boys delivered from grade 3 until they each left for college, the PG has been a hallmark for us! I can’t begin to tell you how delivering and the route manager, John Radvan, molded those boys to become the responsible men they are today! I only hope you will never do away with the paper issue, though we don’t miss the inky fingers! Also, many thanks for publishing the crossword, celebrity scramble, etc. for those days there is not a paper issue! You at the PG are appreciated! Thank you!
