A snappier arrow, and many smaller improvements

• Heading with gyro. The map arrow now also uses the phone's gyro to set the heading, making it much snappier when you turn in lift.
• Forecast on flights. See the forecast on the day you flew. Good for future planning.
• Terrain color auto-adjust. The terrain height color now adjusts to the region you are flying, so you get better contrast instead of a fixed color scheme for the whole world.
• Live tracking every second, by default. Your buddies see you move smoothly across the map.
• Live tracking, redesigned. One menu: a master switch, one update rate, and a toggle for each network you broadcast to - pgpilot, OGN, XContest, PureTrack and LiveTrack24. Switch the master off and nothing leaves your device, on any of them.
• Airgram, richer. Sun, rain and gusts all on the chart!
• Battery saver warning. If your phone's power saving is throttling GPS, the status bar now says so, because that is what garbles a track.
• Offline maps. Download a pack for your area and fly with the full map, labels and all, and it stays with you across app updates.
• Local. Voice follows the range you pick in Comms, so you hear the pilots around you rather than the whole world.
• Radio. Cleaner VHF audio, steadier push-to-talk when several pilots key up at once, and settings that show what the radio applied.
• Forecast and lightning. Coverage across the rest of Europe, and satellite strikes from France and Italy to Spain, Austria and Morocco.
• Thermal forecast and cruise wind. More accurate lift, and a steadier estimate that holds back when confidence is low.
• Hike and fly. Sharper automatic detection of what was a flight, what was a hike, and what was the gondola.
• Account. Forgot password on the sign-in screen, and guests can keep their flights by adding an email.
• Live count in the top bar, one tap from the live map.

• Ground contacts. Add safety contacts for when you fly. They can follow you live on the map, and get notified for takeoff, landings and ending your trip. Other pgpilot users and email are supported now, more integrations coming.
• Area Contest. Fighting over land is as old as civilisation itself. Claim your ground on pgpilot.app/areacontest!
• Hike and fly. We now segment your activities into hikes and flights automatically. Start pgpilot on the ground and track the hike up! Strava upload is coming.
• Realtime livetrack. Track at 1 second resolution, for when you are NOT FLYING INSIDE CLOUDS with friends.
• Flight sharing. New templates to share your flight: flight track, relief maps and more.
• Floating comms button. Use pgpilot in the background and keep talking to your buddies.
• AI assistant (early preview). Connect pgpilot to your favourite AI agent and do post-flight analysis.
• Radio and device names. Pick your VHF channel width, and give your radios and varios names you actually recognise.

The radio goes wireless

• Your kv4p radio now connects over Bluetooth. No cable, no adapter, just pair it like any other device.
• You can flash the radio's firmware straight from the app, in one tap. No computer, no holding tiny buttons.
• Lightning now shows on the map. Strikes from the ground network and from satellite, so you can see a storm building before it finds you.
• Everything voice now lives in one place under Settings: the agent, your channels, the radio, and which microphone you're actually using.
• One channel at a time by default, like a real radio. Pick a channel and it leaves the last one. Turn on multi-channel in settings if you'd rather listen to several.
• Navigation says what it's doing now: Direct, Route, or Competition. And your task edits finally stick, including renames, radius changes and reordering turnpoints.
• PureTrack is now a connected service. Switch it on and your live track shows up there too.
• Muting a channel actually silences it. Muting Local used to look muted and keep playing, sorry to everyone who hit that at a comp.
• Your radio connects to your radio, not whichever one answered first, and it always unmutes again after a transmission.
• Clearer radio audio in both directions, and the mic closes when nothing needs it instead of sitting open all flight.
• A barometer hiccup at startup could quietly cost you altitude data for a whole flight. Fixed.
• The map no longer goes blank mid-flight. We found two ways that could happen.
• Your top speed and best climb no longer get thrown off by the odd GPS glitch.
• Takeoff names on your own flights show up and stay put, and flights that got cut short still get a map preview.
• Live tracking to XContest stays one flight now, instead of splitting when the app restarts mid-air.
• Editing a competition start gate no longer overwrites the field while you're typing in it.
• Group leaders can finally delete their own groups.
• Preflight no longer tells you location permission is missing when it isn't.
• Faster airspace and obstacle warnings, and lighter weather downloads.

• An in-app inbox: get notified when someone gives kudos or comments on your flights, right from the bell up top.
• Share a flight to your Instagram story - a ready-made image with your track and stats - and add your Instagram handle to your profile.
• Your flights now split themselves into segments - hike, fly, gondola, drive - so a hike-and-fly reads as what it actually was.
• Steadier wind while ridge and coastal soaring - it no longer flips around to point downwind.
• Smoother, more accurate vario on devices with a built-in barometer.
• Exiting a replay can no longer start a phantom recording, and your group never sees the replayed position as yours.
• XContest live tracking now works for every connected pilot, shows you as a single dot, and your auto-upload choice sticks across devices.
