## What is PH Health Connect?

Ontario pharmacists have been authorized to prescribe medications for minor illnesses as of January 1st, 2023. Given the shortage of medical staff in the province, and to avoid wait times for both patients and pharmacists, we have introduced Health Connect, which is a smart tool to connect patients with pharmacists. Health Connect provides the list of designated minor illnesses that the province has outlined. Patients have a chance to answer a few questions that will be shared with the respective pharmacist that will eventually decide whether a prescription or a referral to the family physician is the appropriate recommendation. This streamlines the process and helps pharmacists provide high-quality services, along with providing a user-friendly experience for both patients and pharmacists.
