## What is PhantomInk?

Phantom Ink turns the passage you're stuck on in a printed book into something you understand, annotate, and keep — while the book itself stays spotless.

Photograph a paragraph from a paper book, sweep your finger across the lines like a real highlighter, and the recognized text is translated on the spot. Your highlights, translations, and notes live in a digital "invisible ink" layer, archived by book, searchable forever.

Snap a page (or import from Photos)
Brush over the lines you care about — the marker stroke follows your finger
Translate or add a note right there
Save. The original page, your marked-up version, and every annotation are kept together, filed under the book

PRIVACY BY DESIGN Everything works without an account. Recognition and translation run entirely on your device — your photos and text are never uploaded. No ads, no tracking, ever.

OPTIONAL CLOUD SYNC Sign in with just an email if you want your bookshelf on more than one device. Your data is stored in a private, access-controlled space, and you can delete your account (and all cloud data) inside the app at any time.

NOTE Phantom Ink currently recognizes horizontal text. Support for vertical Japanese/Chinese layouts is planned.
