### 4/5 — Cool app with one pretty significant flaw

*2026-03-19*

This is a solid music visualizer that is rendered nearly useless by one major flaw. If I have my music just stored locally in a folder on my phone in the files app, and then I choose one or more of those songs to play back in Phazr, once it’s finished playing the song(s), they’ve disappeared from the files app entirely.

It seems that somehow Phazr is deleting every song I play with it, without any warning or notice or anything. So basically, if you’re using this as a music player, either be prepared to lose those files after Phazr has played them, or I guess keep duplicates of everything on your phone to replace the files that Phazr will delete. Either way, it’s a pretty significant flaw that makes the app nearly unusable for playing music that you actually want to keep stored on your phone. Someone brought up the same issue in a review from October of last year, but it appears after 5-6 months, nothing has been done to solve the problem yet.

Use this app at your own risk and know in advance that if you play a song in the app, it’s probably not going to be on your phone anymore after Phazr has finished playing it.

Edit: I emailed the developer about the problem, and received a response the next day, and an update that fixed the problem was released shortly after. So I can much more confidently recommend this app now.

**Developer response:** The latest update (1.8) works around the issue, which appears to be an OS bug.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2025-12-30, version 1.7.1*

I really enjoy using the app and appreciate all the features. I was wondering if it might be possible to add haptic feedback when the screen is locked. Thank you for considering my suggestion!

### 4/5 — Nearly what I need

*2025-01-13, version 1.6*

If it kept playing when the screen was off, it’d be perfect. Love the haptics with the music.

### 4/5 — Good but music should not come from direction of app

*2025-01-02*

I just got this working with downloaded music, but what’s not great is that the music comes from the UI interface in fact when you hit the X button, it closes the music but what I really want is to be able to hide and immerse myself in visualization and for the music to be all around me, not coming from the app

**Developer response:** As of version 1.6.2, music should no longer be localized to the window. If you’re still having issues, contact me at phazr@phazr.app.

### 4/5 — Amazing app, one small issue.

*2024-12-28, version 1.3*

When I upload a song to the app, it ends early but says it's the same length as in my files.

### 4/5 — Perfect Syncing

*2024-04-04, version 1.3*

…but needs a shuffle mode for both trax/visuals (and a lot more visuals than just 9)
With that, Phazr will be 1 of The Best there is!

…but what do you expect for free

### 5/5 — Phazr Reviews

*2024-01-17*

Amazing App! Cool Visuals! Love the interactive idea provided!! Love the mic voiceover and music files that can be provided!! 10/10 Only thing I would love to see within the app is if there would be a more variety of visuals. Not sure if that’s to come soon or etc etc, but other than just a bigger variety, the app is amazing!!

### 5/5 — Too Kewl!

*2024-01-15, version 1.3*

A totally satisfying bit of software.

### 5/5 — Very well made

*2024-01-06*

I love this app, especially for the haptics, one downside is that apple music songs won’t work so I have to download songs to files. Still worth it in my opinion.

Edit: If I could 6/5 stars, if you rotate your device, the visualiser moves with it and adds immersion

### 3/5 — Good Concept

*2023-11-08*

Love the concept, but the haptics needs some tweaking. Almost every frequency seems to trigger them to the same degree so that listening to most music gets very muddy very quickly in terms of haptics.

I found that New Order works well for the most part, but anything with more subtlety just becomes a mess. Even New Order starts getting messy with more than just a baseline and some strings.

It would be nice to have the option to tailor the haptic feedback by frequency.

### 5/5 — BEST HAPTIC MUSIC APP/VISUALISER

*2023-10-22*

This is easily the best haptic music player on the App Store, the vibrations sync to the music so well and all of the different visualisers are awesome!!! Not to mention it’s COMPLETELY FREE!!! Great user interface with no bs and really easy to use, not a single complaint from me. I LOVE THIS APP!!!!!!

### 5/5 — Totally blown away

*2023-10-11*

This is the first time I have been completely satisfied with any software, on any system on any platform, in the first minute of use, paid or free. It may not have the playback flexibility. of VLC, but it access files (not just darn apple music) right out of the box, and easilly. This is so important, or why store anything in files in the first place? And why have usb access? You have made my day by not intnoring those of us why actually use features apple made available, but don’t like anyone to support. And on top of that, you are now my default music player!

And big note to anyone who uses this on an iPad, TOUCH THE SCREEN! That really was unexpected. one or all fingers, on all screens. Totally interactive. I am totally happy with software for the first time. When do you remember being made happy by software? Not just content or satisfied, but haappy. I vote best app on here. PERIOD.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not it.

*2026-03-01, version 1.7.2*

Cute and all but it can’t to anything unless you’ve paid and downloaded the music prior or have your mic on. Not how I want to experience my music. I was seriously hoping for some that can visualize the music I’m listening to on Spotify or YouTube music with my headphones. So I don’t have to be that weirdo playing their music out loud. Really disappointed honestly.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Apple Music

*2025-12-30*

I know it doesn’t say but it would be nice to mention it doesn’t work with Apple Music. Feels kind of intentional

**Developer response:** I would support Apple Music but Apple does not allow third party developers to access raw audio data necessary for this app. The app description clearly states what kind of files are supported.

### 1/5 — does not work with apple music

*2025-11-11, version 1.7.1*

It should be more obvious in the description that this app does not work with apple music or i’m assuming any other streaming service. extremely disappointed

### 1/5 — Don't waste your money - joke

*2025-09-17, version 1.7.1*

Waste of money

### 1/5 — Can’t get app to work

*2024-11-20, version 1.6*

I cannot get the app to play any of my music

### 1/5 — Abspielen von 4+ Minuten-Tracks nicht möglich.

*2022-06-02*

Ist dies etwa nur ein Bug oder muss man eine Pro-Version kaufen, ganze Songs abspielen zu können?! Es ist doch nicht zu viel verlangt!

**Developer response:** You should be able to play tracks of any length. Please send an email to phazr@phazr.app with more information about how you’re trying to play tracks (music library vs Files app vs Spotify)

### 1/5 — Dmr-free music

*2022-05-12, version 1.2*

I downloaded the app but it is telling me that there are no results when I pick a song. how do I locally download music so it can appear on the app and I can listen to it

### 2/5 — Can’t use it even though I would love to.

*2025-12-11, version 1.7.1*

The app will just take up space on my IPad because I can’t even use it with Apple Music. I wanted this to work so bad. I was excited

### 2/5 — Possible bug: files deleted after playing

*2025-10-03*

Under airplane mode, no permission to Apple Music/media, and playing music by selecting files from another app (VLC), the files completely disappear after playing. No trace in Recent, Recently Deleted, or their original place. Please investigate if this is a problem with the app or not. iOS 26.0.

**Developer response:** This turned out to be an OS-level issue. The latest version of Phazr (1.8) has a workaround.

### 2/5 — Wish it worked with Spotify ..

*2023-08-08, version 1.3*

Does not work with Spotify or something with drm.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best Purchase Ever

*2025-05-24*

I agree with the first comment. First time to be excited doing this review. Thank you for creating this app. Create more outstanding apps pls. Looking for an AI MUSIC VIDEO creator that I can link my own music 🙏❤️

### 5/5 — Just what I wanted

*2025-03-21, version 1.6*

Awesome App. Was looking for a simple visualizer for my sequencers that listened through the mic, and this exceeded my expectations! Great job and nice design.

### 5/5 — worth it!!!

*2025-01-31, version 1.6*

as a artist and listener perspective!!! amazing development on this app! hope for new features and visuals soon!!! ⛓️‍💥🔥💓😌

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2025-01-06*

As a music producer, needed something to spice up visualising my audio for my audience on social media. This looked awesome form the preview, and after paying and using it, I can confirm, it is AWESOME. Super super sexy design, clean, quick response, not to mention it’s just simply pretty. It’s so easy on the eye and genuinely super well designed.

### 5/5 — Great! But

*2024-12-29*

I love the app. Found a little laggy in the beginning because of the delay for the menu options to load up. Please add the support for background playback with the vibrations.

**Developer response:** Unfortunately background vibration playback isn’t available for developers.

For the menu option lag, please email me at phazr@phazr.app and I can look into it.

### 5/5 — Absolute Gold

*2024-12-13, version 1.6*

Nothing much to say except that this is a 10/10 app for anyone who appreciates synesthesia and well-made products.

### 5/5 — Best visualizer ever

*2024-10-02, version 1.3*

This app is very very good for visualization without ads that go across your screen and it’s a full-size screen for the visualizer. Easy control and fun to watch.

### 5/5 — Great way to reexperience the music you love

*2024-09-23, version 1.6.1*

I really enjoy the immersive experience of the music I already love. Both AR/VR Options depending on the mood I’m in.

### 5/5 — best

*2024-05-15*

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Best app!!!

### 5/5 — Best music player

*2024-04-05*

I never usually leave comments on App store review pages, but this app is exceptional. The quality of the haptics is spot-on, and the visuals are impressive to say the least. Excellent work!!
