The new backgrounds look good and I like it the neon background the most and I love the rainbow color please make a neon ears and neon paint to go with the background and Make a way to remove the voice in the background Also the toothbrush on the sink map is glitching every time I take sparkly to the dentist and also manifests the tablet in black.I don’t know if it’s normal or not but I would like it if it didn’t have a glitch and it is not giving me any gifts sparkly just simply smiled and did not do anything besides smiling at me. ### 3/5 — Wants to be a game *2026-08-30, version 5.4.0* I would love to be able to lock some of the game options that distract from the benefits of this app. Instead of brushing teeth, our kid runs off with my phone and plays with the voice modifier. It's a struggle every night and there is nothing short of hovering over him to snatch it away that deters him from goofing off with the app rather than just BRUSHING HIS TEETH. The pet is fine but the app just adds to his screen time right before bed. There is way less of a struggle to have my kids brush their teeth. They even ask me to brush their teeth. The character is adorable and the whole idea around it is genius!! I love how they can feed it and it teaches great dental hygiene!! But There are some bugs that need addressing. The only country we can select is Australia. It sometimes has a hard time connecting with the toothbrush. My child can create all sorts of new accounts but I can’t delete them. I highly recommend!! Just wanted to let you know ### 3/5 — Latest update cannot connect to the toothbrush *2026-08-01, version 5.4.0* The app is nice to have and is a good motivation for kids, with lots of collectibles, however the latest update broke the experience: - it no longer connects to the toothbrush, only 5% of the time. The rest of the time I have to trigger “manual mode” which is out of sync - it no longer lets you skip a tip interstitial before brushing, slowing down getting started - when applying spray paint it now displays a confirm dialog; which my kid naturally presses the red X to discard the change, as other dialogs have trained them to do so ### 2/5 — Kids love it. So they are doing it together at the same time But I only have one device for them to watch. They both want to open the gift at the end of brushing and choose how the character looks. I wish I could just manually update their streak and have them both earn rewards on their own profile. I think that syncing across devices should be a basic feature of any app. Also, a recent bug is preventing Sparkly from changing color when a color gift is used. ### 4/5 — Sehr Schöne App aber mit kleinen Mängeln *2026-07-18* Sehr schöne Idee mit dem Sparkly und die Geschenke sind eine super Animation für die Kinder zum Zähneputzen. Haben sie lange sehr gerne genutzt. Allerdings sind bei uns jetzt nach fast zwei Jahren viele der freigeschalteten Kleider und Hintergründe auf einmal nicht mehr verfügbar. Sehr ärgerlich zumal man auch keine Chance hat sie wieder zu bekommen, außer man fängt ganz neu an. Kinder putzen trotzdem noch super Zähne, aber Motivation für die App ist dadurch nicht mehr so vorhanden. Die Support Chat Funktion führt zu einem nicht mehr funktionierendem Link, bringt also auch nichts. Dafür sollte es eine Lösung geben bzw. die App so schlau sein, dass man bei über 1000 Putzaktionen auch alle Hintergründe und Kleidung freigeschaltet hat. **Developer response:** Hallo! The only reason it’s 4 stars is because basically to unlock just about EVERYTHING, you NEED to have the Sonicare toothbrush. I don’t have it, so it’s annoying, because I barely have ANY content. In my opinion they (the creators) should add AT LEAST two more things that everybody can use. ### 3/5 — Great app if it worked *2026-07-12, version 5.4.0* Ever since the updated the app to sync data -- a really important feature I'm glad that they added-- it's been buggy and slow. We get the same gift dropped over and over, preventing actual brushing. Progress gets lost a lot. My 5-year-old can't see all the background and items she's earned anymore. If she changed her Sparklie's color, out consumes the spray can, but when she got into to l the app again, it reverts get color. Same with clothes and backgrounds. And worst it all, the sync is only quasi-reliable. It often doesn't sync between devices and then loses progress a lot. If the fix the bugs, it's great for motivating kids to brush; if they don't, it can have the opposite effect. Edited to add: Last update broke progress tracking. It no longer matters if she brushes or not. ### 2/5 — Won’t unlock after purchase *2026-07-11, version 5.4.0* I purchased the toothbrush in order to unlock everything in the app, but the sparkly adventures still won’t unlock. When I click on it, it just tells me to buy the toothbrush. The toothbrush has already been paired, and I am using it with the app regularly, but I still can’t get sparkly adventures. ### 2/5 — Great concept for children who don’t have 2 households. *2026-07-10, version 5.4.0* It would be amazing if there were a way to set a parenting schedule of some sort. Please fix this issue. I have reached out to customer support but no response. I also lost my profile and won’t let me brush with my new account and still is hiding sparkly. Other than that it’s is pretty cool game and I really like it. But today, after I brushed, sparkly gave me a gift, and I opened the gift and it was some donuts, and instead where the food normally goes, it went somewhere else and it was not there where it was supposed to go. Kids get to take care of a virtual animal whose teeth they need to brush, and every brushing session unlocks rewards and presents — similar to a Tamagotchi-style game. My daughter brushed her teeth perfectly fine before using this app, but afterwards she only wanted to brush with the app. Because it is designed like a mini-game with constant rewards, it creates a very strong dopamine response for young children. For our child, this led to emotional crashes and frustration once the game ended. While the app may motivate some children to brush more consistently, parents should be aware that it can also create an unhealthy attachment to screen-based rewards. ### 1/5 — Losing progress overnight *2026-05-24, version 5.2.3* App is no longer keeping colour changes for the character and my child is having a meltdown because of it. My kids love this app and get excited by the presents they earn every day. However, they are just as disappointed and upset when the items they earn disappear. Just tonight, my son earned a food item and the when he opened the app back up to show me, it was already gone. We are at the point where is causes more issues and upset to use the app, than to just brush without it. Well my son pressed delete and I put my pin in because I thought that was the only way out of the locked out screen at the time. After much research we have now lost her sparkly of 6 years of building. She now is so deflated and would love to know how to restore her beloved character. She is so upset and now hates using her toothbrush. Can you please find out how we can restore her character. This is an unfortunate flaw in the app. ### 5/5 — Great app for any toothbrush! *2026-08-27, version 5.4.0* We got the sonicare electric toothbrush for kids and it’s super cute because it comes with stickers and it’s a great step up from a regular toothbrush after our eldest had two cavities. I got the app to go with it. I have a different type of electric toothbrush that also does mapping while I brush so I expected this one to do that too but it does not. I imagine that type of technology is coming, but this does not have real time mapping. But it works great! My youngest even does it with his normal toothbrush because you can use any kind of toothbrush with the app. It’s been a great motivator to get the kids to brush morning and night because they want to feed their sparkly and dress it up and get the prizes and see if they can get new stuff that they’re waiting for. For those who might be a little sensitive to sound and sensory stuff I would just turn the volume down as it can feel a little rushed for some. They even have coloring pages you can print! A huge win for our family! We are hooked! Thank you sonicare!!
