Is there a way to fix or not. Unfortunately they have a lag that I can’t look over currently being a youtubeTV subscriber. Philo buffers and freezes way too often. Customer service was completely unhelpful and told me they “don’t do refunds” despite the fact that they were never authorized to charge me in the first place. If I’m watching from the mobile app it completely crashes and I have to go back and find what I was watching again. Sucks because I play a show while I listen at work and I don’t have time to keep restarting it. Then, after buying the pack and getting on the streaming service, I saw that most of the movies and TV shows were old. Honestly, it felt like the biggest waste of money. I would not recommend Philo unless you are someone who enjoys really old movies and TV shows. If that’s your preference, then it may work for you, but if not, this is not the right streaming service. They are not even updated on TV shows that came out in 2021, and they don’t have all the episodes uploaded. Overall, I highly would not recommend Philo. ### 1/5 — $30 and you still get ads *2026-05-09, version 8.10.0* Ridiculous how it is $30 per month then shows littered with ads that you can’t skip. It’s being uninstalled just before the trial ends. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Returning customer because it is just what we need *2026-08-03, version 8.16.0* We had Philo originally in 2017 or so when it was dirt cheap (still is for what you get). We switched to a competitor at some point a few years later in order to get live channels without having to use an antenna. After several price hikes and paying $83 a month for the competitor, we just returned to Philo and realize just how great it is. The price is great, you can switch to a different channel and watch from the beginning (with the competitor, when you hit record, you only record from that point on). The interface isn’t cluttered and despite 720p, the picture is clearer because of a stable bitrate.
