### 4/5 — Great

*2023-10-17*

Opening philolog makes my day

### 4/5 — A Great App, but the New Update has Decreased Accessibility

*2021-08-13*

I love this app. Unfortunately the new update has removed support for larger fonts. Due to visual problems, I have to increase the size of all text using Apple’s built in accessibility options. This used to work well with Philolog.us, but now only the search words on the left of the screen are enlarged. The dictionary entries themselves continue to appear in a font that is too small for me. Please update the app so that it will work as well as it used to or make the old version downloadable once again!

### 4/5 — Bug?!

*2021-04-09*

When I searched for “ὅτι”, the entry word “ᾠώδης, ες,” appeared highlighted in the word list. And then scrolling upwards on and on, I found the entry word “ὅτι” finally.

### 5/5 — Invaluable

*2019-08-24*

I have been using this invaluable app since starting to study Classical Greek three years ago. Because the entries are so detailed and comprehensive it was initially somewhat daunting, but as my studies have progressed it has become ever more useful. I find it particularly helpful that the Greek keyboard is integrated into the app and that there is no need to type stress or breathing marks to search for a word. It’s also very helpful that the entire content of the app downloads to your phone, so that it can be used without a signal. I can’t imagine being without it!

### 5/5 — Feature Requests

*2018-03-28*

First, some due praise: this is a very useful app. The combination of Greek and Latin, and the automatic switching of keyboards to accommodate each is invaluable to anyone who is working back and forth between the two languages. The color coding of definition information is also pleasant and effective. Overall, it's a very well designed app.

The requests (posted here because the support site is unresponsive, alas):

First request: it would be useful to allow the user to review the next definition without having to go back to the main list every time.

Explanation: often a user is interested in a family of similar words. These are typically shown alphabetically on the main list. It would be very useful to allow the user to read the first of these, and, from the definition screen itself, be able to read the next definition, without always having to go back to the main list. This may seem minor, but if someone is looking at a dozen words at a time, the overhead of going back and forth quickly becomes excessive and tiresome.

Second request: it would be immensely useful to provide links between Latin and Greek.

Explanation: often Latin words are derived from or related to earlier Greek ones. One of the admirable features of this app is that these are usually highlighted in blue. Given that the app already contains the Greek definitions, it would be very useful in the already highlighted words became active links from the Latin to the Greek. If this proved to be too difficult to implement, then, at least, there could be a mechanism for tapping on such words and automatically populating the Greek search field.

I hope that these comments are useful, and that they will find their way into some future update to this already admirable app. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Best app for working in Greek and Latin

*2017-09-28*

This app is a must-have for all students and scholars who read Greek or Latin, but cannot always lug around heavy dictionaries with them.
Thank you to the developer for fixing a bug in the previous version!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. This should be fixed in version 1.6.1 which was released today. Please let me know if you experience any other problems.

### 5/5 — Still great

*2017-06-25*

Great dictionary. The update is also great.

### 5/5 — Great app, great developer

*2016-02-17*

Nuff said

### 3/5 — Ok but could do much more

*2015-12-25*

Best greek dictionary on app store. But typed words should be saved when changing the language, so as to easily obtain a translation between greek and latin.

### 5/5 — 20lb. Of Greek

*2014-05-10*

Both the above reviews are fake but that doesn't mean they're wrong! I don't even do Latin, but simply having literally a pocket LSJ that's searchable for such a low price is dope as hell. It's like carrying around a 20lb. super expensive book in my pocket! Wish I could also see a BDAG app but for what it offers, this app is simple to use and incredibly useful.
