### 4/5 — Not bad

*2026-07-24, version 1.4.1*

So far it’s doing a decent job. If the stamp has a cancellation mark it has trouble getting it right.

### 3/5 — Save as file

*2026-07-16, version 1.4.1*

There needs to be a way to save to a spreadsheet.

### 2/5 — Has potential but could be better.

*2026-07-13, version 1.4.1*

No way to organize stamps that are in your collection which is the biggest let down. Stamp identifying is not always accurate. Will scan the same stamp multiple times and get a different price value each time so cannot trust.

### 2/5 — Not accurate

*2026-07-12, version 1.4.1*

I can scan the same stamp 5 times and get a different information each time. Once it told me a stamp was worth $2,000,000-$3,000,000. I scanned it again and it was worth $1.50

### 3/5 — Terrific application!

*2026-07-07*

I feel guilty using it for free … it is telling me all about these foreign stamps my mom collected as a child 100 years ago. I’m getting them out of glassine envelopes into collector notebook pages. Very accurate with historical background and notes. Thanks! I may get the premium edition.

**Developer response:** Hi GregoryET, thank you so much for your kind words! It’s wonderful to hear that PhilSnap is helping you organize and learn about your mother's 100-year-old collection. If you ever need assistance or have questions while exploring the premium features, please reach out to us at support@philsnap.com.

### 3/5 — Limited but interesting

*2026-07-03*

This app has some interesting potential. You can scan a large number of stamps in a hurry and get a reasonable idea of what you own. For some reason in certain time periods or when the stamp is faded or obscured by a cancellation the app has a hard time making a positive identification. In my British collection, it has a really hard time telling the difference between Victoria and George V. The app has no reasonable mechanism for organizing a large collection. Countries are only searchable if they appear in the title assigned by the app. I have four separate collections and they can’t be catalogued separately. They just all get thrown into the same general soup. There also should be a way of modifying a search. For example, if the stamp is Queen Victoria, and the search comes up with George V, I should be able to type in “No, Victoria” and have it modify the search. This is evidently not too difficult to do since several apps that I have for other collectibles allow such modifications. Keep trying!

**Developer response:** Hi S ginger, thank you for sharing your feedback. To improve identification for faded or canceled stamps, please ensure they are well-lit and flat; taking photos from slightly different angles can also help. We hear your concerns regarding collection organization and are working on features to allow for separate catalogs and improved sorting. Your suggestion to modify searches is excellent and will be considered for future updates. Please reach out to us at support@philsnap.com so we can assist you further with your collection and other needs.

### 2/5 — PhilSnap review

*2026-07-01*

There are issues with identifying the stamps, I scanned one stamp 6 times and I got different descriptions each time. Many descriptions are incorrect. This does not give any way to sort the stamps in the collection. With that many inaccurate errors, I wonder how valid the value would be. The advertising shows an ability to sell but that is a misrepresentation of what the app actually does. I hope they improve this site.

**Developer response:** Hi BellC 2026, we're sorry to hear about your experience with identification and valuation. For the most accurate results, please ensure your stamp is well-lit, flat, and centered in the frame without shadows or glare. Our valuations are market-based estimates, but factors like condition and rarity can significantly impact the final value. We appreciate your feedback regarding sorting and selling features; these are excellent concepts we are considering for future updates. Please reach out to us at support@philsnap.com so we can assist you directly and improve your experience.

### 4/5 — Missing print out options

*2026-06-26*

The major thing that’s missing from this app is the ability to print out my list of stamp stamps. That would go a long way to completing this app.

### 3/5 — Great service provided

*2026-06-07, version 1.4.1*

Ain’t nothing else that can touch it. Been collecting 3generations and I learned more just scanning a few I have than I knew in 40years

### 3/5 — Corrections

*2026-05-10*

Many stamps that are in mint condition are rated as used and good condition. Corrections need to be made constantly and those do not seem to register to the stamps. Need to be able to assign stamps to collections or classes on the fly. It will be really inconvenient to go back thru after photographing 1000s of stamps to reclass or assign to country collections.

**Developer response:** Hi LJ4920, we're sorry to hear about the misidentification of your mint stamps and the challenges with corrections not saving. For best identification results, please ensure your stamp is well-lit, flat, and centered in the frame, avoiding shadows or glare. Try taking multiple photos from slightly different angles. We appreciate your feedback regarding assigning stamps to collections on the fly; we understand the need for efficient organization and will consider this for future updates. If identification errors persist or corrections aren't saving, please contact us at support@philsnap.com with details so we can investigate and assist you directly.

### 3/5 — It’s not all that

*2026-05-02, version 1.4.1*

It seems to be giving just general ideas and prices. Nothing special doesn’t tell you any of the specialty stamps.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-04-28*

I can’t believe I now can identify fully a huge chunk of my collection. It’s the language and era that I am having difficulties. Also, I now have knowledge how the dead countries and pre independence territories became the current countries they are now.

### 5/5 — Trying this out

*2026-04-18, version 1.4.1*

So I’m new to this whole stamp thing so I’m gonna give this a 2 week trial and let’s see how good this is

### 2/5 — Not so smart

*2026-04-18, version 1.4.1*

Not accurate at all. Didn’t give me any information I couldn’t find online and yet it was still wrong :(

### 5/5 — Stamps

*2026-04-12, version 1.4.1*

Nice stamp

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Different every time

*2026-06-23, version 1.4.1*

I scanned a few stamps that came up hundreds and thousands of $. I scanned again and it drops to 1-to 5 dollars

### 1/5 — Currency

*2026-06-14, version 1.4.1*

How do I get £ instead of dollar

### 1/5 — Confidently Wrong

*2026-06-09*

The app falsely identifies stamps regularly even with good lighting and a blank white background. You can get a different result for the same stamp over and over again. The chat/ai assistant feature will confidently lie to you about stamp information over and over.
I "appraised" over 600 stamps with the philsnap app, and every expert I have approached with the information I have gathered from this app has said the information is incorrect.
If you use this app and it tells you that your stamps are worth money, please get a second opinion from even a simple google search before wasting time and embarrassing yourself taking to experts who will laugh at you for believing what this app says.

**Developer response:** Hi activillain, we’re truly sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced with stamp identification and valuation. For the most accurate results, please ensure your stamps are flat and centered in the frame, and try taking photos from slightly different distances to capture all details. Our valuations are intended as a guide based on market data, but factors like condition, perforations, and specific varieties can significantly impact a stamp's true market value. We would appreciate the chance to look into the specific stamps you scanned to improve our database. Please contact us at support@philsnap.com with your photos and details so we can assist you directly and ensure a better experience.

### 1/5 — Insane

*2026-06-08, version 1.4.1*

Genuinely shocked at how insistent & pestering this app is. It is constantly offering things that obstruct functionality, even impeding actual purchases. Really lost the plot with this yall

### 1/5 — Inaccurate identification

*2026-05-15, version 1.4.1*

I was using this app with the total confidence until it started giving me completely different identities for the same stamp. Crossed referenced with other research and neither of the identities were accurate! Complete waste of time!

### 1/5 — Don’t Bother

*2026-04-03, version 1.4.0*

I took photos of 2 different stamps multiple times every time it came back with a completely different value for each of the two stamps. One time it says it’s worth 1 million dollars the next it’s 5-20 then 1,000-1,500 it’s not worth your time.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2026-04-01, version 1.4.0*

Bought it thinking I could scan a page of stamps like they show in the video. Nope. Single stamp at a time and I’m not really learning anything about quality, positioning p, edges and so on. So quick update. Devs left a pointless response. Good news though as I have moved on to using an overhead page scanner combined with AI to identify a page at a time.

### 1/5 — Can’t identify properly

*2026-03-25, version 1.4.0*

50-50 shot of getting the stamp correct. And the value is 100% wrong 99% of the time if I had to pay for this app I would be. P.O.
💯🤬

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-02-26, version 1.3.0*

Faulty. Connection errors. Network errors. Pretty much every error other than doing what the app is supposed to do. Dont waste your time. Move on.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-02-23, version 1.3.0*

There is no way to access my stamp catalog. I want to send a file or print it out but only can see my collection using the app.
What a waste of time inputting 100’s of stamps only to view them on the stupid app.

This app is a god send . I inherited a stamp collection and have sat down time and time again to try and understand my stamps value, and condition, etc only to end up time after time more confused, aggravated and ready to just say forget it that is until this app . Thanks to this app I understand my stamp’s importance and value and have even sold a few. Easy to understand and takes out all the guess work. I’m so grateful I downloaded and tried it out i give it 5 out of 5 !!
