It's my main source of wholesome news from back home, being an OFW. But iOS8 rendered it useless, and no one from Philstar seem bothered to get rid of the bug. I downloaded your app so that I could read your newspaper when I fo not have the hard copy, especially when I am out of the country. , Howevet, I cannot navigate through the newspaper. I opened one section and cannot get out of it. It's probably because I am not computer-savvy? Or could you make navigating a little more user-friendly. Thank you PhilStar apps :-))) ### 3/5 — Pwede na. *2012-10-27* The interface is straightforward, intuitive, and navigable enough but lacks a defined visual aesthetic (ex. compare with the apps for The Atlantic, NPR News, and The NY Times). The interface is awkward: content tends to be squished while white space is not utilized. The journalism is as good as it gets; PhilStar is one of the top newspapers in the country after all. Panalo! ### 4/5 — Good, but could be better *2012-10-06* A good step in the right direction. Makes it much easier to access informative news than the Philippine Star Newsstand app. Although it feels like the screen estate on the iPad could be used more efficiently (perhaps provide option to configure line spacing?). User interface uses basic touch gestures, but I believe it can be better. Developer may consider improving how the newspaper sections are presented; instead of on/off toggles, sections may be segmented visually. Layout can also be more visually appealing by making images stand out more (perhaps make them larger?). Overall, a good app that makes news more accessible. It will find a place in my device and daily routine. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Keeps spinning *2018-04-21* The app is useless when it’s ‘Updating’ or ‘Getting news feed’. Each articale or news takes about 10x longer to load than the previous version ### 1/5 — Crashes *2016-06-01, version 1.6.2* I recently updated my phone to ios 9.1.3 and now PhilStar app will not open. Please fix... ### 1/5 — Don't bother *2013-01-19, version 1.3* I downloaded this app to keep track of the latest Philippine news. It was so annoying that I deleted it after a few minutes. THE ADS WERE RELENTLESS. Flashing and constantly changing. It occupies a chunk of the screen including a strip which doesn't really need to be there. The most annoying thing is once you've opened the main news you want to read, you can't find the icon to go back to the main news. NOT USER FRIENDLY. You have to tap several times to capture it as it goes too quick, that is, if you find it. Sort it out! ### 1/5 — No internet connection?
