### 2/5 — Missing features

*2026-08-23, version 4.0.0*

Is it possible to add a border or graphic to a photo? Really simple concept that is very difficult to implement in this app!

### 2/5 — Rubbish app

*2026-08-22, version 4.0.0*

The printer is fine - this is about the app, which appears to be designed for 12 year olds.

What's there:
* ads. On what planet is it ok to spam me with adverts on a printer I paid for
* Loads of twee designs
* integration with loads of apps I've never heard of

What's not there
* printer status, battery level, paper level, etc (the basics you would expect)
* ability to upload from google drive (though you can from gmail)

You wouldn't use this printer for more than 10 pages at a go anyway, but If you want it for any kind of business purposes this app will do nothing but annoy you.

Plus 1 star because once you fight your way through charging the printer and uploading your document, the printing part is straightforward

### 3/5 — Great

*2026-08-18, version 4.0.0*

Great app but there aren’t many stuff to do without paying for a subscription .

### 4/5 — Good

*2026-08-13, version 4.0.0*

I think you should add the possibility of changing the paper size of the stencil (Legal, letter etc)

### 5/5 — Game changer for the classroom

*2026-08-10, version 3.20.2*

Love this app and the thermal printer. It’s a game changer in the classroom

### 5/5 — Excellent prints

*2026-08-10, version 3.20.2*

Very practical- easy print communicate with devices, reliable specially Apple🍎 the price is appreciated lifesaver.
The pages are really optimum quality. I use separate print pages. INK PRINT is EXCELLENT

### 4/5 — It works (mostly)

*2026-08-09, version 3.20.2*

It does a decent job most of the time. It glitches out fairly often and has to be reset often though. It also burns through a lot more paper than other printers.

### 5/5 — Great for photo journaling

*2026-08-08, version 3.20.2*

This app, paired with the T02 mini wireless thermal printer, has been great for photo journaling, especially on the road.

### 5/5 — Printer

*2026-08-07, version 3.20.2*

Greatest little in home printer I have ever used.

### 4/5 — J’aime beaucoup

*2026-08-07, version 3.20.2*

J’aime vraiment toute les fonctionnalités de l’application. La seule chose, c’est que parfois l’ia modifie le dessin original un peu trop ou ne comprend pas bien les demandes. Mais de façon générale c’est très bien pour le prix.

### 5/5 — A handy portable device

*2026-08-06, version 3.20.2*

I took a chance and bought the POD printer. I previously saw it advertised on Facebook. It looked helpful in what I needed to accomplish at home and work. I can state emphatically, it exceeded my expectations for my labelling needs.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Everything behind a paywall

*2026-08-24, version 4.0.0*

Purchased the item, didn’t know you also needed a subscription to use the item. Useless now. Why do I have to pay a monthly fee to use items I’ve already purchased? Printing comes with a subscription now?

### 1/5 — Total Scam

*2026-08-23, version 4.0.0*

Bought printer… now I need a substitute it? Total scam

### 1/5 — Ai and paywalls

*2026-08-23, version 4.0.0*

Used to work great until they kept cluttering the front page with slop and now I go to use it and there is a paywall for printing ?! I bought it ages ago with no issue but now the demand I pay again to use the thing I purchased . Ridiculous

### 1/5 — forced membership

*2026-08-23, version 4.0.0*

im sorry but why are you forcing us to pay for a membership to use the app when we already have the machine and we buy our own stencil paper and make our own designs. this is ridiculous. you can’t just start charging us to use the app out of nowhere.

### 1/5 — Bait and switch scam

*2026-08-20, version 4.0.0*

We bought the printer and used it for a while. Now the app forces us to pay $32 per year if you wan to use the printer we already paid for. SCAM.

### 1/5 — Ironic

*2026-08-14, version 4.0.0*

For a tattoo printer app that is required to use my tattoo printer, it no longer looks to be for tattoos. More clip art and crafty project oriented options. You can’t even search more than one word in the search bar and “tattoo” brings up hundreds of mask clip art before ever approaching something anyone would want as a tattoo. Terrible update when the app is FOR tattoo printers.

### 1/5 — If I could give it zero stars

*2026-08-10, version 4.0.0*

Non-intuitive, lack of user control, could not even print without getting inundated with an app purchases. Piece of junk.

### 1/5 — $20 printer and $20 a year subscription??!!

*2026-08-10, version 4.0.0*

The first day I got my printer I printed quite a bit of labels. Some software upgrade happened and I have no way to just print a text label without getting a $20 subscription! Ridiculous

### 1/5 — Ron

*2026-08-07, version 3.20.2*

The printer, when it works, is great. But the printer is not made by Phomemo, it’s made by some manufacturer and Phomemo SELLS THE THE SOFTWARE THAT RUNS IT! And, they charge you an arm and a leg for it. You can print a few pages and then they start to make you pay for just using the app. It’s as close to being a scam as you can get. I asked a lawyer friend what he thought of the business model and he said “It’s as close as you can get to a “unethical business practice “. Think twice before you buy the printer. The ethics of charging a monthly subscription fee to use a physical printer you already bought is highly debated, with critics viewing it as predatory exploitation and companies defending it as a flexible, budget-friendly service. [1] Public and expert consensus strongly leans toward finding these models ethically problematic when they restrict basic hardware functionality. However, looking at both sides of the argument helps clarify why this model exists and why it sparks so much outrage. Why Critics View it as Unethical The Death of Product Ownership: Traditionally, buying a physical good grants you complete ownership over it. Subscription models shift this dynamic, forcing you to essentially rent a piece of hardware you already paid for. If you stop paying the monthly fee, the manufacturer can remotely brick your device or disable your ink, which many consumers view as digital extortion. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Artificial Restrictions and DRM: Critics argue it is unethical to use software updates to intentionally block third-party ink or disable features that are natively built into the machine. This creates unnecessary e-waste by forcing consumers to discard perfectly functioning hardware or proprietary cartridges simply due to a software lock. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Deceptive Ecosystems: Many consumers feel trapped because the full terms of these subscriptions—such as the fact that the ink cartridges sent to you remain the property of the company and will stop working the moment you cancel—are often buried in dense, unread terms of service agreements.
