## What is Phonepedia?

Phonepedia allows collectors of landline/VoIP phones to keep track of all their phones and their features.


## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2026.5 — 2026-05-19

• Added the ability for the digit representing the number of included cordless devices for a cordless phone to indicate that it includes 1 + X cordless devices.
• Added the ability to specify that the last dash or plus in a cordless phone's model number indicates that the digits that follow make up the number of included cordless devices (e.g.  -12 for 12 cordless devices or +2 for 3 cordless devices).
• Added support for phones which are primarily a fax/copier, printer with fax, smart home hub, or modem/router combo.
• Added a stability indicator to the phone count sheet, which indicates which of your phones need repairs or replacement parts.
• The minimum selectable value for "maximum number of cordless devices" is now the number of included cordless devices.
• Added a timeline view which shows the phone catalog from oldest release year to newest release year.
• Phone age is now shown under the release/acquisition year options (e.g. a phone released in 2008 and acquired in 2026 is 18 years old).
• Added the ability to specify when a corded/cordless phone doesn't come with cordless devices.
• Added the ability to show a phone's backstory without going to the General page.
• Fixed issues with duplicating cordless devices/chargers from their context menu.
• Added the ability to set a corded receiver's colors to the colors of the base/deskset.
• Color circles now show M for main, S for secondary, and A for accent.
• Cordless device type and handset style info moved to phone type definitions sheet.
• Other bug fixes and improvements.

### 2026.3 — 2026-03-25

• Added the ability to select the brand from a list.
• Replaced steppers with popup menus for most options.
• Increased max value for included/max cordless device selection from 15 to 30.
• Added more options.
• Cordless device/charger colors are now indicated in the list.
• Updated info text.
• Achievements are now displayed when your collection reaches various milestones, like getting 10 phones or getting a phone in its release year.
• Added option to turn off the detail view's backdrop effect.

### 2025.11 — 2025-12-02

• Added the ability to reassign cordless devices to a different phone.
• Added the ability to change a phone/cordless device's "place in collection" status from its context menu.
• Added more options to specify more details about your phones.

### 2025.9 — 2025-09-24

Phonepedia is ready for Liquid Glass and introduces even more options to keep track of your phones' features!

### 2025.5 — 2025-05-20

• IMPORTANT: Fixes have been made to various pieces of data, so you may need to edit your phone catalogs after update.
• Redesigned the document browser experience on app launch.
• Added a backdrop effect to the detail screen, which is created using the phone's photo with a blur on top.
• The phone photo is now always displayed even as you drill down into other sections.
• Reorganized detail screens.
• You can now choose to use a more detailed phone photo for phones without photos.
• You can now specify more details for your phones, such as which digit of a cordless phone's model number indicates the number of included handsets. You can choose to have that digit be highlighted or underlined in the model number displayed in the phone list.
• When adding cordless devices/chargers to a cordless phone, you can now choose to duplicate the last one. You can also use the item's context menu to duplicate that item.
• You can now rearrange your phones and their cordless devices/chargers. Phones are now numbered from highest to lowest number. For example, if you have a catalog of a phone collection consisting of 20 phones, phone 20 appears at the top and phone 1 appears at the bottom.
• You can now filter the phone list and cordless device list.
• Updated info screens to make it easier for those just getting started with landline/VoIP phone collecting/exploration to understand various aspects, such as the difference between an answering system and voicemail.
