## What is PhoneSpace?

PhoneSpace is a private storage and contact cleanup utility for iPhone. Processing happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there are no accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or tracking.

CLEAN UP YOUR LIBRARY

Photos
Find duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, large photos, blurry shots, bursts, Live Photos, old media, and low-resolution images. Review items before using Apple's native deletion confirmation.

Videos
Surface large videos quickly and review your library by size.

Contacts
Detect duplicates, incomplete entries, repeated numbers, and empty contacts. Review Smart Merge proposals before applying them. PhoneSpace keeps a recoverable backup before contact deletion or merge, and can export all contacts as a VCF file.

Files
Browse folders you choose, preview files with Quick Look, search, sort, and share. PhoneSpace does not delete files from this chapter.

MEDIA TOOLS

Resize
Choose how much smaller you want photos or videos to be. PhoneSpace shows the estimated output and honest limit before processing, then verifies the result. Originals are kept unless you explicitly choose to delete them.

Convert
Convert photos to JPG, PNG, HEIC, or AVIF when supported by the device. Convert videos between MP4 and MOV while preserving quality and resolution whenever the source is compatible. Photo metadata and full resolution are preserved by default; turn on “Remove location & metadata” when you want a clean copy. Live Photos can be extracted as a still image, motion clip, or GIF.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-13

Compress is now Resize. Choose the size you want and see the result before you start.

Pick how much smaller, and the new size is right there before you commit. Resize won't promise a size it can't deliver — when a file can't go smaller, it says so and tells you which one is holding the rest back.

Convert is simpler. One screen. Choose a format — that's the whole decision. Videos keep their original quality and resolution instead of being quietly downscaled.

Converting a photo no longer removes its metadata or shrinks it. Photos keep their date, camera and location, stay at full resolution, and are written at very high quality — so converted copies are larger than before. Use Resize to make them smaller.

Removing location and metadata now works on every photo you convert. Before, it only took effect when the photo was also resized, so some conversions kept their location. Turn on "Remove location & metadata" on the Convert screen when you want it gone.

Rescan actually rescans. It used to say "Scanned just now" while returning an older count. Now it re-measures every time, and the button is big enough to hit.

A rebuilt Home. Categories are cards with their sizes lined up in one column, so you can compare at a glance.

This update focuses on accessibility, performance, and reliability:

• Full VoiceOver support — every screen and selectable item is now properly labeled and announced.
• Smoother scrolling through large photo and video libraries, with lower memory use on big collections.
• Safer, more reliable contacts cleanup — clearer confirmations, and delete and merge now keep a recoverable backup before anything is removed.

• Additional stability and performance refinements.
