## What is Phonimation?

Phonimation shows you the hidden gestures behind speech. A 3D model reveals what the tongue, lips, soft palate and vocal folds do for every vowel and consonant on the IPA chart, with clear 2D animations alongside.

Watch, copy, feel, then listen. Every sound is recorded in the author's own voice, with a deeper-pitched version of each recording too.

VOWELS
• Every vowel on Phonimation's rounded vowel chart, in 3D and 2D
• Diphthongs that glide from one vowel to the next
• Vowel drills, and the Explorer (prototype) to hear the space between vowels

CONSONANTS
• Every pulmonic consonant, by place and by manner of articulation
• Hear each one with a vowel after, between two vowels, or on its own
• Airflow diagrams, voicing, and a guide to how the head simplifies into each diagram

ACCENTS
• Recorded lexical sets for General American, Received Pronunciation and Standard Southern British
• Notes on 11 accents, from Glasgow and Belfast to Cardiff and General Australian
• Accent notes for each sound: TH-fronting, glottal stops, rhotic and non-rhotic R, clear and dark L, and more

MADE FOR
Actors, voice and accent coaches, singers, speech and language students, linguists, and anyone learning or teaching pronunciation.

This is such an amazing tool for learning speech sounds, literally from all angles! Super useful to combine visual & sound. It’s normally so hard to imagine what is going on inside the mouth and trying to picture where the tongue is and how it’s moving, but now it all makes sense. Seeing how nuance and detailed movements can change a sound is BRILLIANT!
