This app easily detects any incidences of AF (if you put your finger over the right bit of the camera). ### 5/5 — Best app for AFIB that I can find *2020-01-15* This works really well and pretty closely matched ECG waveform and readings. I have used this for more than 6 months and it is very helpful. You have to practice holding the phone with your finger over the camera and light, and when I upgraded iPhones I had to practice again to get used to where the camera lense and lamp were on the new phone. Also I have checked it for accuracy multiple times while connected to an ECG in the hospital emergency department !! It is very close to ECG readings... but obviously just a tool to help you, not a medical device. Thank you to whoever created this. ### 5/5 — Paroxysmal AF *2017-09-11, version 1.1* Great app to have on hand should you feel your heart is going at a fast rate. There are a number of settings. Just use the standard as this will detect if you have AF. ### 5/5 — Useful app *2016-07-19, version 1.1* I developed atrial fibrillation after heart surgery. The surgeon has put me on pills to get me back into sinus rhythm. My doctor thinks the app capable of indicating sinus rhythm so I can book an ECG to confirm. The app is tricky to use on standard setting. Because my heart beat is erratic my hand can jump around, no matter how relaxed I think I am. I tend to start on fast, then normal and if I'm not too far out of kilter I'll spend 3 minutes on standard. ### 5/5 — Better *2015-12-30, version 1.1* The old app of this was horrible did not work, this version seems to be working really good. I just hope it's accurate. ### 4/5 — Reliable *2021-04-18, version 1.1* Since I do not feel anything when I go into AFib, I have found Photo AFib to be a reliable detector in my two and half years of using the app. Update May 2019: After a year and half of being in sinus rhythm, the app immediately detected that I had gone into AFib. That allowed me to be treated by cardioversion the next day. The app worked accurately before, during and after the AFib episode. Update April 2021: Does not work on my new iPhone SE2. Keeping my old SE just to run Photo AFib Detector. ### 4/5 — Screen writing messed up *2020-11-20, version 1.1* Is there an update to this app. I have used it for years and it has been great at detecting if I’m in AF. Recently when it gives me results, the screen writing is written on top of itself so you can’t really read it. Just make out if normal or abnormal. A small bug but no updates have been released. I’ll update after 30dats or more ### 4/5 — Worked for me *2015-10-08, version 1.0* When I got the app I was already in AFib and knew it. It detected a problem 85% to 90% of the time. After I got zapped I was in Sinus but not for long, back in AFib. I got put on medication and monitored once a day. For the week before my second zapping appointment the app said I was normal. I requested and got an EKG and sure enough I was normal. Now I don't have an Dr. appointment for two months. I'll continue to monitor and if the app says abnormal I'll get an EKG sooner. I would not use this app as a diagnosis, just as a possible indicator. I'm told it's rare but I never felt the AFib. No out of breath, tired, etc. It was discovered by accident from a sailing injury. ### 3/5 — Free for abnormality detection *2023-02-21, version 1.2* I don’t know yet how accurate it is but most other heart monitors charge extra if you want anything other than basic heart rate. This app offers more for free.
