Plug in a compatible drive (or pick a folder in the Files app), grant Photos access, and tap Backup. Your photos and videos are copied to the destination you choose — SSD, USB flash drive, external HDD, SD card, and other storage Apple’s Files app can open.

VERIFIED BACKUP — NOT JUST A COPY
Each item is copied, then checked with SHA-256 before it’s marked complete. Ideal if you want reliable photo and video backup you can trust, then restore when you need to.
