Nachdem man es heruntergeladen hat, kann man keinen Eindruck von der App und deren Möglichkeiten bekommen, sondern es öffnet sich gleich nach dem öffnen der App ein Abo Plan für monatlich, jährlich oder für eine Einmalzahlung für dauerhaften Erwerb der App. Bewertung der App daher nicht wirklich möglich und dafür, dass die App als kostenlos mit inApp Käufen ausgeschrieben steht und nun das Gegenteil sich herausgestellt hat, kann man dafür nur einen Stern geben! ### 1/5 — Other better apps at no cost *2025-10-12* Stay away. Kein Ausprobieren möglich, NO GO.. ### 1/5 — Not worth the money *2025-05-25* Overall you are paying for all features in one place what can be found for free else where. The UI is good but buggy and some features are pretty gimmicky. Calculator: The star-trail calculator is not how capturing startrails work, you need to look at lenses and aperture not just exposure. And the lengths of those trails don’t seem accurate. Lightning map isn’t very good either when compared to free services. The weather is also missing basic info and if you do want to appeal to people doing astrophotography cloud cover is necessary piece of information but may be quite hard to get your hands on that info for free, maybe look at cloud free nights for there info. Milky Way planner seems ok but missing quite a few things Also if you want to add another feature solar storms and Aurora’s is a good piece of info. Waste of money 😞 ### 1/5 — Fails to finish loading *2023-11-07* I purchased this via a discount offer to buyers of their hardware, but it failed to load, stalling at a screen asking for permissions to use the location (which I granted), the camera (ditto) and the calendar. That’s where it locked up. The Continue button was non-responsive. The app would not complete launching. I cancelled my subscription right away. I am very grateful this app is here and can’t wait to see where it goes. I love the simplicity and polish on the app as well as new features not seen in other apps! Thanks MIOPS team. ### 3/5 — Look elsewhere *2025-07-14* This app looked promising until I started using it. There are many apps online through the same thing, but for cheaper money. There is a place to add devices, but you can’t even add that only a link to purchase their devices. I already have two of their devices. I don’t need anymore. I’m still trying to figure out where the AI comes in, but there are many cheaper alternatives. I was going to buy perceptual license right now it’s not worth it. This app needs a lot of work and should be cheaper. ### 3/5 — Great app if the information was actually correct! *2025-02-02* I signed up for the free trial and was ready to purchase the lifetime version of it because of how convenient everything is - especially the calendar of events! …that is, until I started looking elsewhere for the events the calendar listed and to my surprise every single event on this app’s calendar was on a different day - some one day ahead, some one day behind. Some several days from when this app listed it! It seemed too good to be true - lighting, rocket launches, moon cycles, etc etc all in one spot? That would sign me up for sure. One trick to help re-align the compass is to shake your phone or rotate it in a large figure eight motion. For a small misalignment this will often help fine-tune the accuracy of your compass. It is also possible to align your moon path manually in AR view by touching the icon at the top left corner. I hope this helps. Since the latest 2 updates, there's an overlay, that's not possible to dismiss, that requires you to have / sign up for a subscription to use the app at all. Sad! When planning on iPhone 11 app is super laggy, takes 2-3 seconds to refresh the pin when zoomed in to properly set the target, and when I move time with “time scroll” it jumps 20-40min at the time, I can’t get minute by minute precision, when scrolling time bar to much I can crash the app every time in 10 seconds of using it. After 8 crashes I gave up. 2 stars for 1$/m sub but it should be 1 because it is literally unworkable on iPhone 11. **Developer response:** Sebo2000, We will check the crash logs and solve the issues. The sun moon app looks to be their first software only solution and It looks as if they missed the mark here as this does only some of what the competitor does. I think it’s obvious who developed that other app, and the MIOPS app does not seem to bring anything new to the table here. Even if they did, they’re behind the curve and I for one will be staying with the (other) mature product.
