The app works well except for a few things. Firstly the sound on the ready set go function is extremely quiet. It’s not my phone as the sound is more than loud enough on other apps. From even 20m away it’s nearly impossible to hear. A Bluetooth speaker would introduce lag and impact accuracy.

Secondly it does not work well at detecting more than one lane away from the camera.

You need to be able to pair multiple devices for free. For timing a race it is unusable unless you buy the pro version. It would also be nice if a few of the start options were free.

The free version of Photo Finish includes our core single-device timing with automatic chest detection and split tracking, which covers most solo training needs. Multi-device pairing is part of Pro because it relies on extra infrastructure, and Pro is what allows us to keep developing the app as a small team. Photo Finish propose bien une version gratuite avec les fonctionnalités principales de chronométrage automatique, y compris la détection du buste et les temps intermédiaires. Seules certaines fonctionnalités avancées (comme la synchronisation multi-appareils et certains types de départ) nécessitent l'abonnement Pro. Regarding the shotgun sound. We use to have a Shotgun sound but later we found out that the beep is more accurate. So thats why we are not using the shotgun sound anymore. We hope you can understand that we prefer accuracy over the type of start sound.

The app is pretty good. All you need is two things, two phones to measure sprints (like 20m fly sprint for example) and the membership. I do like the app. Especially as a sprinter, it’s important to know what times you’re running during practice. So 5 star rating in my opinion is justified
