Have you ever taken a photo with the intent of referencing it later, perhaps a gift idea or a whiteboard of notes after a meeting, only to lose track of it in your photo collection? Or maybe you can't recall why you took a photo in the first place! Photo Notes puts these problems in the past. Photo Notes enables you to import photos straight from your camera roll, or take new photos in app with your device's camera, and then easily add as long of a note as you'd like to them - even add titles! Create, rename, rearrange, and remove Photo Notes albums as you see fit. So my photo album is dedicated to family photos and memories. One thing I’d improve is the note placement. So the note becomes visible once the photo is opened. And it disappears once the photo is full screen stretched. Thank you for your work . ### 4/5 — Good *2025-11-24* Its almost perfect for re-organizing my photo albums and adding notes to the albums. It can’t be compared with iVault cause they’re for different purposes, but Photo Notes is exactly what I need to organize the photos I take as notes. However, I wish it would preserve metadata like iVault does cause when I export photos from the app I find that metadata are stripped from them. I also worry though that since this app hasn’t been updated since Oct. 2018 that it will soon suffer the fate of iVault, but if the app is updated, I hope metadata support (i.e., non-destructive storage and export) will be implemented. ### 5/5 — Very useful! *2024-03-16* I used to use an app called iVault, which allowed me to store images separate from the Camera Roll, but it doesn’t work in iOS 15 so I searched and found Photo Notes. This app fit the bill! I can name properties quickly and then make snap shots of defects. I then note the relevant defects and I can mark their places in the report. Great so far! ### 2/5 — Can’t get photos out of this app *2019-06-24* This theoretically works well but once the photos are there you have to individually save them to your camera roll, which is so inconvenient that I stopped using the app **Developer response:** Glad to hear the app works well for you for its main purpose, but I definitely understand the frustration in not having more options to export your photos. It’s perfect thank you so much! 🙂 ### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed *2018-08-20* I am using this app for a different purpose, but it’s exactly what I was looking for. I like to make handwritten flashcards and I like to test myself by writing down the answers rather than saying it out loud, and I needed to have them on my phone by taking pictures of them. The flashcards apps wouldn’t let me put both sides of the card with pictures , and the ones that did didn’t have the option of writing down my answer before flipping the card. I also tried with notes and Evernote and it wasn’t practical. With this app I can write the answer on the picture of the front of the card, then swipe to see the picture of the back of the card! So simple!
