An app to visualize the field of view for selected cameras and lenses and overlay it onto a map. In addition one can also visualize the depth of field. This can be useful when planning for example a landscape shot where you need to know if the lens you plan to choose will fit for the location. Another example could be an architectural shot where you need to check whether the lens will work with the given distance to the object. I contains the following features: - Store different cameras with different sensor sizes - Store different lenses with their parameters - Define up to two teleconverters - Define a photo shoot and save it with all parameters - Adjust aperture and focal length with sliders - Field of view as overlay on map - Depth of field as overlay on map - Hyperfocal distance overlayed on map - Blue and Golden hours as overlay on map - Calculation of blue hour, golden hour, sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset for given date - Prediction of sunrise and sunset quality based on weather forecast - Prediction of milky way core visibility and sky clarity based on weather forecast - Visualization of moon phase - Prediction of long exposure conditions based on weather forecast - Visualize the sun and moon path and current position using an AR view - Show a 24h weather forecast for the camera location incl. animated rain radar and satellite view overlay - Show weather warnings for the current camera location - Show live lightning strikes for the given area - Exposure calculator for calculating exposure times or iso when using an ND filter or change aperture or iso - Minimum distance to subject calculator with a given camera/lens combination ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 26.0.75 — 2026-08-28 Some minor cosmetics related to the lightning strike visualization, the initial radius is a little bit bigger and strikes will be kept for up to 5 min if not more than 500 strikes visible. In addition I've switched the base image for the cloud overlay from color to grayscale for a better visualization of the rain overlay graphics. There is now also a field of view calculator that you can reach from the minimum distance calculator. With this one can visualize the depth of field for a given camera/lens combo and also the field size for a given focus distance. This can sometimes be useful if you need to figure out what lens to take when you know the distance to the subject. ### 26.0.73 — 2026-08-21 In case of weather alerts at the current camera location, you will see an alert icon in the weather view. If you click on the weather altert icon, you will get some detailed information about the current weather alert at the camera location. The app will not show minor severity weather alerts but only moderate (yellow icon), severe (orange icon) and extreme (red icon) weather alerts. For the rain radar it is now also possible to fetch higher resolution radar images (512px tiles instead of 360px tiles), you will find a toggle button in the settings.Satellite images are not available in a higher resolution. ### 26.0.71 — 2026-08-20 I removed the old cloud emulation because we now have the animated satellite images. In addition you now can enable/disable an overlay of a 5x5 grid of arrows that visualize the wind direction for each time step in the radar and satellite view. Furthermore the current weather conditions now also show info about dew point, humidity, visibility and uv index. ### 26.0.69 — 2026-08-19 Replaced the view that shows the animation for the rain radar and satellite images with a more user friendly version where you can scrub with your finger through the different frames. ### 20.0.67 — 2026-08-18 Lightning strikes will now be visualized live when their occur instead of polling them every 20 seconds. The rain radar overlay is now animated incl. a preview for upcoming hours. In addition to the rain radar preview there is also an animated satellite view of the last hours. With this information available you should be able to get an idea about the weather conditions for the camera location.
