Southern California] [Update 8/18/26, a month or two back, I had a prompt and nice response from the support team: the red app was old and they nicely transferred my photos there into the yellow colored icon app. I couldn’t figure out how to do that. Then I had the option, to delete the red app, if I felt okay to do that. I did delete it and I have been nicely working with the yellow app. Though I didn’t pay for a ten year subscription, I had lots of value by the beta version magic to clean up original paper very old and water damaged photos from my original picture album w plastic cover on, of 35 years back, I was happy to pay as I go, for that and for the 8 second movie creation of a still photo into a video. Really awesome. It provided much value to my family of our family members who are not here anymore. I raised the one star to a four star. Thanks Photomyne. There’s some great little features eg it can make a still portrait photos appear to smile and blink which was quite emotional when I did it to a photo of my mam. While the app is great for batch-scanning albums, the company is no longer truly honoring that "lifetime" commitment. After a recent update, my history vanished and the app became an endless loop of advertisements for their new subscription membership. Even after contacting support and providing my original 2017 receipt, they only "unlocked" local scanning while stripping away the cloud features I previously used. Now, I am constantly bombarded with "Upgrade" pop-ups every time I try to scan my family photos. It is very disappointing to see a company treat their earliest, most loyal customers this way by degrading the experience to force a subscription. Legacy users beware: Keep your receipts and don’t expect the "lifetime" deal you paid for to remain the same. ### 1/5 — Subscription based app *2026-04-06* This is a subscription based app, which means you’ll never own it and will have to keep paying forever just to use it.
