## What is Photo Story?

Photo Story (previously My Photo Story) is a simple app designed to put children's voices at the centre of learning.

Created for early childhood and primary settings, Photo Story lets children - or their educators - pick a photo, record their voice, and export their story as a movie, saved directly to the Photos app. It's the perfect tool for documenting discoveries, sharing learning, and amplifying the voices of even your youngest learners. Older learners (or teachers!) could also use this app to take photos of completed work and add a voice layer explaining their thinking, justifying choices or contemplating future goals or next steps (great for collecting evidence for assessment tasks).

How it works:

- Choose a photo from your library or take one with the camera
- Record your voice to tell the story behind the photo
- Optionally add a personalised name badge or other short form text
- Export as a video saved to your Photos app - ready to share with families, display on a screen, or keep as a record of learning

Perfect for:

- Early childhood and primary educators
- Documenting learning moments and discoveries
- Children's voice and agency projects
- Parent communication and sharing

Photo Story works beautifully on both iPad and iPhone, with a clean, child-friendly interface that educators and children can navigate with confidence. It works entirely on device, with no data being collected or stored by the app itself.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-27

Photo Story has a new name! We've simplified from "My Photo Story" to "Photo Story" to better reflect the wide age group using the app.

This update also brings improvements to the add text feature — text now wraps automatically within the photo frame, you can choose left, centre, or right alignment, and there's no longer a character limit (although there will be limits to how much text can be added to a photo with the larger sizes). Use the slider to adjust text size to suit your photo.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-06-26

Thank you for being part of the My Photo Story community! This update includes important stability improvements, including a fix for an issue that could cause the app to close unexpectedly when saving a movie.
