Or, can I manually add it? ### 3/5 — Where is Support? *2016-05-30, version 1.33* This could be a great app BUT... Frank, where are you? You seem to still be updating the app, but there is no link to your website, help or a user guide in the app itself. Using the App Store link gets me a site in German, but the link to an alternate English site doesn't work. The product is listed under iPhone-only apps on the App Store, and is flagged as "iPhone" on your website, but the Compatibility line in the App Store PhotoBuddy entry shows iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The app runs on my iPad 3, using location services, but on my iPad Mini 4 it never asks permission to use my location, so I cannot turn on the Tracking slider in the app. Why is there an Edit button on the "More" page? On the screen displayed when you tap Edit, tapping on any of the non-greyed-out items just makes the icons jump, but nothing happens. On your website you show a version 1.3.5 (on the App Store it's 1.3.3) but if on the Entwicklung page I tap the mehr... under the PhotoBuddy 1.3.5 item, it just takes me back to the Wilkommen page. Is there possibly help info on the target page that I just can't get to? We need a presence in the English world so we can get support, please. I'd really like to use this app, but can't invest the time until I know it's status. Some of the features are somewhat confusing, e.g. can you use an iPhone 5 camera to help calculate distances or not? There's a need for more onboard help embedded in the app. I'm sure for advanced photographers this app might be useful but at the end of the day, just read your camera's manual and work out what looks right and what doesn't. ### 2/5 — I should have paid more attention to the reviews :-( *2013-03-23, version 1.10* Crash. That says it all. Otherwise, a very nice and complete app. Most of the problems seem to be with the Imperial units selected, but possibly with the metric, as well. The DoF calculator alone is worth the price -- works well, and has a nifty and useful dynamic scale. Several of the other sub-apps are also useful, particularly the Exposure page, but lack of working GPS really cripples the Sun & Moon sub-app, which would otherwise be quite useful. The web-site and the User Manual need to be reworked: features no longer included are mentioned, and typos abound. Purchase it for the DoF and the Exposure calculators. The rest needs some overdue work. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not worth the money *2016-02-27, version 1.31* The GPS function does not work, have to manually input your location. The DOF function is good, but there are several free apps out there to do this. The flash function is as good as useless. If you go to their support site, there is nothing in the English language to be found. Not impressed! ### 1/5 — Wouldn't bother *2016-02-21, version 1.31* Waste of money really. Lots of silly issues like it couldn't establish my location even though the rest of my phone knew, it had some weird ideas about hyper focal distance ( focussing at 1 metre wide open showed a hyperfocal distance in hundreds of meters) and several "helpers" that really didn't tell me much at all. The only thing I found useful was the angle of view calculator. I bought this after reading it reviewed positively in a book but it's not what I had expected on that basis. ### 1/5 — Keeping it real *2015-11-24, version 1.31* Don't get this app..... Money back please! ### 1/5 — Surprisingly Buggy *2012-11-04, version 1.10* The first problem I encountered was that, after changing the units to feet, it insisted on changing them back to yards. But it also crashes so frequently that it's really unusable. I had seen good reviews in the past, so I tried it. But it turned out to be useless and a complete waste of my money. ### 1/5 — Not worth the money *2011-12-26, version 1.9.2* The only tool in here that seems to be of much use is the DoF calculator, and there are a variety of free ones available. It works great for this purpose! ### 5/5 — The one photo app that's a must have *2016-04-02* This app has replaced a few I had on my iPhone. The tool set is excellent. The DOF with a integrated camera database shared with exposure and sunset/sun are all a huge help. The interface is clean and uncluttered. The bottom the app with icons is well thought out based on progression one uses before taking the shot. The app is neatly laid out and packed full of very useful functions in particular the Depth of Field calculator which clearly provides the hyper-focal distance and a wealth of other information. Able to slide the different parameters and observe the resulting changes. Also many bonus functions! Great app. ### 5/5 — PhotoBuddy 1.6 *2010-10-19* With 45 years experience in photography, I learned in an era before the current digital "smart cameras" could select the "perfect" exposure settings. I have a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III and appreciate automation, but sometimes for the optimum images, understanding manual exposure is critical. For depth of field assessment, Photobuddy is absolutely invaluable, dead-on accurate, and saves considerable time over the trial-and-error or "judge-through-a-darkened-stopped-down-lens" approach. It is easily worth the small price paid for the DOF calculations alone. If you spend any time with the sun and moon chart and use the blue arrows and "dropdowns", it works flawlessly, I use this feature for purposes other than photography (hunting) and can input and future date and get instant readouts. I have experienced no "low memory problems on my 3G iPhone.
