## What is PhotoCleaner?

Every feature is free. The only limit is how many photos you delete per day.

No ads. No trackers. Your photos never leave your iPhone.

PhotoCleaner turns a camera roll you have been ignoring for the years into something you can actually finish. Swipe up to delete, sideways to move on, and watch the gigabytes come back.

NEVER THE WHOLE LIBRARY AT ONCE

• Swipe through your library one photo at a time, with nothing deleted until you commit
• Smart Categories sorts by what is worth reviewing — videos first, since that is where the space is
• Duplicates, Similar Shots and Bursts find the same photo more than once, keep the best, and mark the rest
• Compare full screen before deleting: zoom into a face, swipe, and the same face stays under your eye in the next frame
• Clutter finds the tiny images and one-second videos that accumulate invisibly
• Time Machine works back through your library by month
• Speed Round: sixty seconds, as many decisions as you can make

WHAT WE COLLECT

Anonymous usage counts, a device identifier, and your subscription status. That is the whole list. No photo, video or thumbnail is ever uploaded — every scan runs on your iPhone, and the app works with no connection at all.

ABOUT PRO

The free tier is not a trial. Every cleaning mode is available without paying, for as long as you like; the only cap is 50 deletions a day. Pro lifts the cap and funds what comes next — there are no ads and no investors, so subscriptions are the entire reason the next feature gets built.

Have an idea? Settings → Request a feature reaches one person who reads it.

Deleting removes photos through iOS, so they land in Recently Deleted and you have 30 days to change your mind.

Subscription terms

PhotoCleaner Pro is an auto-renewable subscription, offered monthly or annually. Prices are set per region and shown in your own currency in the App Store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 4.3.1 — 2026-10-16

Fixed a layout problem on iPhone Pro Max and Plus models: turning the phone sideways inside Smart Categories, Time Machine or Memory Rewind squeezed the screen into a narrow strip with the rest black.

Every screen that opens a photo full-screen now frames it identically, wherever you came from. Moving between Clean, Clutter, Smart Categories, Time Machine and Memory Rewind no longer shifts the picture.

Zooming into a photo and then turning the phone no longer leaves it off-centre.

The "swipe up to delete" hint now appears once and you can tap it away. It used to come back on every screen you opened, including after you had read it.

### 4.3 — 2026-10-07

. Photos and videos use more of the screen. The playback controls and the filmstrip now sit over the picture instead of pushing it out of the way.
The difference is biggest on a video shot upright.

. Turn the phone. Landscape fills the screen edge to edge, with the controls floating over it. Until now, rotating left you a video the size of a stamp.

. A filmstrip under the photo. Every photo in the set runs along the bottom. Tap one to jump straight to it instead of going back to the grid.

. Share several at once. Select the ones you want, then Share — up to twenty-five together.

. Videos pinch to zoom, the way photos always have. Tapping a video pauses it.

. Fixed: videos could stop playing altogether after a while, until the app was closed and reopened. That is also the likeliest reason some videos appeared black with a play button that did nothing. Pressing play no longer leaves you looking at black first, a video no longer shows two things loading at once, and the delete queue no longer covers the filmstrip or the playback controls.

. Auto-Delete has been removed. The setting promised to delete automatically once twenty photos were queued, and the warning it raised did the opposite of what its Cancel button said — it quietly dropped five photos from the queue.
Your queue now stays yours until you commit it.

### 4.1 — 2026-10-06

1. You can send a photo or video to someone. Mail, WhatsApp, AirDrop, Save to Files — from the share button at the top of any full-screen photo. It sends the original file, so what
  arrives is what you took.

2. Videos can be paused and scrubbed. There is now a play/pause button, a timeline you can drag or tap, and the time elapsed. The controls also have a fixed place instead of sitting
on the video itself, where a wide clip pushed them into the middle of the screen.

3. Fixed: photos stopped appearing if you swiped far enough, mostly in Clutter and worst on a large library; swiping down while a video played left the screen instead of going back
to the grid; and the camera and lens had quietly stopped showing in a photo's info.

### 4.0.1 — 2026-09-21

Three fixes in 4.0.1:

• Clarified free tier limits: Deleting photos is the only action that counts toward your daily allowance. Keeping photos, swiping, and browsing are completely free. Fixed an issue where the app claimed a limit was reached after simply viewing photos.

• Revisit kept photos: Photos you’ve kept stay in the list for everyone, not just Pro users. Pro only removes the daily deletion limit.

• Smarter session summaries: The summary screen no longer triggers after trivial actions—it only appears after meaningful cleanups.
