### 4/5 — Loved this app until now

*2024-03-21, version 2.6.1*

This is an awesome app for if you want to mass download images easily from a website with lots of images and no way to grab them all simultaneously.

Although this is great, there is no way to use the app anymore since I get kicked out of the app, at least for me (Ipad user).

I hope that this is just an optimization issue that can easily be fixed. I really do love this app otherwise.

It might be a personal issue, but I really hope that this crashing problem would stop. I do enjoy using this app, there’s nothing like it anywhere.

### 3/5 — Would be perfect if

*2020-12-18, version 2.6.1*

You updated to the latest iOS. Files don’t work anyMore.

### 4/5 — Great app, may no longer be supported

*2019-01-27, version 2.6.1*

I believe the app is no longer supported as I have sent several emails to no response.

Old issue:
The app became suddenly useless to me on iOS 11.4 and until I updated to 12 I couldn’t get my photos out of the app. Batch downloading to the camera roll or file transfer via tunes did not work. Up until this weird bug the app worked fine and then just stopped and only upgrading to iOS 12 fixed it. No answer for support for over a year.
I will revise my review to five stars if I ever hear back from support as I contacted them again. Otherwise I will be leaving it at 4. My reasoning is though a solid app (so far) with iOS 12 and I believe it is an one of a kind for what it does on iOS, it is also an unsupported app, which keeps it from getting a full five star recommendation. Will update as I test it further with iOS 12.

### 3/5 — iTunes link still broken after latest updates

*2016-11-05, version 2.5*

OK, still does not connect to iTunes after last updates so this gets a zero until it is fixed. This used to work but now returns the error:
"EXPORTED_photos could not be copied because an error occurred. The device is not connected". Bookshelves, Stash & all other apps work just fine with iTunes so the problem is with Photofile! Please fix this

### 4/5 — Slide

*2016-10-05, version 2.1*

Wish the presentation mode could be random instead of the order downloaded. If this if possible please let me know

### 3/5 — pretty good, needs some work though

*2016-10-05, version 2.1*

This is great App that i've used for several years. Latest version is quicker but lacks several key features (related to cloud storage) that I'd of expected be included by now. These will hopefully be in an update soon: Ability to backup bookmarks to a cloud service; ability to save groups of images to dropbox or other cloud services in a user created folder (was a feature in the previous version but has now been removed); ability to easily define/link cloud accounts thru the app GUI. Could also be handy if it supported video and Gif downloading.

### 3/5 — A fine app but desperately needs update.

*2016-02-13, version 1.1.2*

If you know of any apps that can do what this one does, please consider writing a review and mentioning them here for others (in case this is abandon-ware).

### 3/5 — Update

*2014-03-02, version 1.1.2*

I used to like it a lot but the developer hasn't updated this app since the summer of 2013. The interface is okay but could really use some iOS 7 friendly updates.

### 4/5 — Good Pic Downloader!

*2013-09-13, version 1.1.2*

Great app for batch downloading pics from websites. Crashes occasionally but other than that its a great addition to the genre! Options include saving to iPod photo library or to another installed app.

### 3/5 — Very convenient but ...

*2013-08-07, version 1.1.2*

Lacks basic privacy options such as history cleanup, cookies deletion and proxy settings. No way to remove cookies, only way is to reinstall.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App freezes

*2020-07-04, version 2.6.1*

This app freezes every time I select an action from the "share" button (save photos to phone, send photos via message, etc).

I have to close the app out and relaunch it. Very annoying.

### 1/5 — Used to be great. But crashes with iOS 13.4 have ruined it

*2020-04-30*

Hasn’t been updated for three years. Used to be a great way to capture and sort all the pictures on a site but it just crashes every minute or so now.

### 1/5 — Used to work. Now it’s fuzzy

*2019-08-28, version 2.6.1*

Used to work great but now downloaded photos are completely fuzzy.

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2017-04-08, version 2.6.1*

No longer works. I use this for easynews. It used to be great. All versions released in the last year or so now require me to re-login to the website every time. I suppose that could be a website change instead of the app. More importantly, the All Images feature which is supposed to download files now gives Error for every picture. It's almost useless now, except for the passcode to open the app.

### 1/5 — Worthless since update

*2016-10-09, version 2.3*

Used to enjoy this app for downloading bulk images. Since the latest update, every time I tap on a link it opens in a new window. I can't even use the search feature on one of my favorite image sites. Every time I click on the search box, the same page opens in a new window...over and over and over. The app will still not save .gif files. For me this app is now junk.

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2016-01-09, version 1.1.2*

This used to be a great app, but it hasn't been updated in years and it doesn't work with some sites now.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2015-05-16, version 1.1.2*

It downloads only icons not full quality image!

### 1/5 — No good

*2014-04-11, version 1.1.2*

Doesn't work on many websites.
The quality of the pictures isn't improved to full size quality. They just look like badly zoomed in thumbnails which is what they are.
Not as described - please refund. It shall be deleted.

### 2/5 — Was by far my favorite app, but it suddenly stopped being functional

*2019-11-21, version 2.6.1*

This was a six-star app before iOS 13 came to be. Now, if you want to close a tab, it hangs. Same for saving a bookmark, sharing a file or doing almost anything that is in the share dialog. I have written a feedback several times, but the problem continues. I tried to uninstall and reinstall— made things worse.
This program was the top of the peak, but no more. It is so sad to see such a great job fall into ruins.
I have uninstalled it, but hope springs eternal. I’ll try it from time to time to see if it has been fixed. If so, I’ll immediately change this review back to the five stars it once deserved.

### 2/5 — Does not support the IPhone X

*2017-12-17, version 2.6.1*

It hasn’t been updated in 19 months and doesn’t support the IPhone X.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Show me a better bulk downloader browser

*2026-09-04, version 2.6.1*

I’ve yet to find a better bulk image downloader app. It’s not perfect. It has the odd 10 tab restriction, the one tap download option glitches sometimes, and there’s no option to filter or sort page images by size. But no one else seems to want to make a simple app like this

### 5/5 — Please Update

*2021-01-01, version 2.6.1*

This was the best image “ripper” app available, but it no longer works. Please update.

### 5/5 — Works great but could be even better

*2017-12-20, version 2.6.1*

Works great overall it handles large amounts of photos easily I do wish it could take the links from my safari reading list without me having to do it one by one it is super annoying that way but I love the overall layout of the app.

### 5/5 — Best photo app!

*2016-10-13, version 2.4*

This is a fantastic app! If you download lots of internet photos, look no further than Photofile. Top notch customer support, too.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2016-10-04, version 2.0*

This has got to be the optimum tool for photographers, art students, graphic artists. What a sweet deal to be able to have all the major photographers you select right at your finger tips without needing to go online to browse them once they are installed to the app.
I now have over 5000 images from my favorite photographers to enjoy and study any time anywhere, as well as being able to email images, or Dropbox them. In my opinion this is one of the best apps in the store to learn, study and appreciate photography.

Thank you!

This is a terrific app.
It's a great tool for students, photographers, designers, artists, decoraters and anyone who likes to collect images while browsing to refer to later whether online or not.
The images maintain a link to the original site so it's easy to return to a particular page. Plus you can email images or place them into dropbox to share. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Best image download app so far.

*2014-06-21, version 1.1.2*

I am graphic designer and need a ton of reference materials. I needed an app that could download a bunch of images at once from a single site. This app did the job. I wish you could select the image size or dimension to download. Good enough for now.

### 5/5 — What an absolutely brilliant app this is!

*2014-02-04, version 1.1.2*

Every now and then I find an app which excels in everything it does. This is one of them. As webmaster and developer, using my iPad to prepare documents and act as my main email client, I need to download images from ours and other sites. This makes that process so simple and does it so elegantly that I was quite amazed when I found out all the things it does.
It even saves in Dropbox !
Brilliant! Worth ten stars !

### 5/5 — Great app works very well

*2013-10-24, version 1.1.2*

I use this app very often; it is full featured for saving images, tagging them with category or other tags, etc.

Would love to see an update for iOS 7.

### 5/5 — Straight to Dropbox, Awesome!

*2013-06-22, version 1.1.1*

This app allows you too download "all, some or a single image" from a webpage by selecting the thumbnail images and export directly too Dropbox. No storage space taken up on your iPad, no legacy images to delete, no hassle at all. Its a really great app for surfing/ downloading groups of images.

### 5/5 — No direct input output, but author promises update

*2013-05-30, version 1.1.0*

There should be a file transfer with connected cable to transfer into or out of this app. Dropbox or moving to photos is not ideal, and that only serves output anyways.

Author responded saying he will implement in next update. Thx !!
