I regret buying these. It looked so whimsical but it’s sooo depressing and the other puzzles aren’t interesting or fun. ### 4/5 — Great story but you must love puzzles *2020-09-07* I really like this developers previous apps so I gave this one a try. The story, sound effects and originality are all great. I think this was a successful attempt to go outside their comfort zone and try something different. That being said, the puzzles were too frustrating. Some made sense and were more or less simple. But others required too much time to figure out the weird puzzle mechanics being introduced. I could have handled it better if I could willingly skip puzzles whenever I wanted but instead the app forces you to try some arbitrary number of times. I spent too long purposefully trying to fail the puzzle so that I could skip and see the story. Eventually I just stopped playing cause it was frustrating. ### 4/5 — Not exactly sunshine, lollipops and rainbows *2020-03-12* ...but well worth your money regardless. This is a million miles away from the cheery mindlessness of YMBAB or 1000000, but I was gripped by the little stories and very moved by the end of it all. I only got stuck for a few minutes twice. The stories were depressing but predictable which takes away from the experience. Still it is a unique game and i liked the graphics. If they make a second one i might play it but not for $3.99. And the stories are beyond depressing...they’re macabre with blood and awful outcomes. Would have loved to play and would be 5 stars if the stories weren’t so dark. Loved the concept and pixel photos but believe the creator could have provided a better experience with stories that were not so dark. Ultimately not a winner and not worth the money. ### 4/5 — Great game, but no help if you’re stuck *2019-04-27* I absolutely loved this game. Very original and unique, great graphics and stories. It’s the kind of game you don’t want to put down. But unfortunately, I had to stop playing when I got to the last story. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get past the odd puzzles. Kind of like a match 3 game combined with Rock Paper Scissors, and as much as I like puzzle games, this part made no sense to me. If there had been any sort of hint or help functionality, I would have given 5 stars for sure. ### 3/5 — 絵と音とボイスは良いが、話は… *2019-04-27* 素材については、有料とはいえこんなに低価格でいいの？と思ってしまうクオリティ。 パズルは段々と難しくなっていくので、やり甲斐はあるのだが、いまいちスッキリしない解き方も多い。 肝心のストーリーは、これまたスッキリしない。5つの内3つは、え、そこ？後悔するのそこ？やら、 え、え、そんな終わり方なの？やら、社会風刺なのかも知れないが、 単純なハッピーEDにしないのならもう少し話に深みが欲しかったかな。 システムについても、マルチエンディングなのだが、何度も最終章をやらされるのと、クリア後に 他の章をプレイ→いつの間にか文字が表示されなくなる→再起動→強制的に最終章のバグは何とかして欲しい。 あと日本語の翻訳ももう少し頑張って！ 次作があれば期待します。 ### 5/5 — A really nice departure *2019-04-20* This was a really unexpected departure from the developer of 10000000 and YMBaB. I played those years ago and they were iOS perfection. Unfortunately, there is currently a bug that re-sets my progress to the beginning of The Preventer every time I close my app or change profiles. But the stories are all very depressing and at one point the game started playing itself with the director talking over it - that was time for me to dump it. This is the best I can say about the game. After reading all those good reviews I was expecting something that didn’t involve simplistic, childish stories with no depth or character development to them. It’s a very simple slide figures around a grid to a destination, set of puzzles. A vague story intersperses the “games”. The rave reviews have raised eyebrows here. ### 2/5 — Not what I thought *2021-06-03* Simple slide puzzle game - I assumed wrongly it had a variety of puzzles not basically the same. Art work is lovely. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2019-11-22* Bought this game eagerly bc of how good 1000000 and ymbab were. Graphics nice and stories somewhat touching.. but overall once you get a sense of the type of stories they become just too sparse and too predictably sad. The ending doesnt do nearly enough to pull it together and at that point feels like a slog, which isnt helped at all by how slowly the epilogue plays. Id like to have seen the other endings but to be honest i wasnt even that interested anymore. A couple of the puzzle series were good, a couple were okay, and one (newspaper) was really frustrating and the answers seemed like brute force/process of elimination was rewarded over actual puzzle solving. ### 2/5 — 힐링겜 그래픽의 멘붕겜 *2019-09-08* 소소한 힐링겜인가 하고 샀다가 제대로 멘붕함 설명을 자세히 읽으면 눈치 챌 수도 있는데 그렇다고 쉽게 게임성을 깨닫게 설명된 것도 아니고 .... 스포가 아주 아주 약간 있음! 더 보기 전에 조금의 스포도 싫어하시는 분은 주의를 요망... 일단 퍼즐은....내가 왜 이걸 하고있나 싶은데, 진행을 위해 강제로 하는 느낌....재미는 못 느꼈음. 어려운 대목에선 노가다의 느낌도 살짝 들고. 멘붕오는 스토리면 개연성이라도 느꼈으면 좋겠는데 하다보면 어이없어서 이게뭐야??? 쟤들은 왜??? 말이 돼?? 등의 리액션이 내/외적으로 나옴... 그리고...스토리에 살인, 자살이 꽤 나온다는 것도 솔직히...감점임. 스토리가 지나치게 자극적이라고 생각. 교훈적 메세지를 전달하고픈 생각이 있는 거 같은데 자극성에 가려서 메세지가 기억에 안 남고 개연성이 없어서 메세지 전달력도 약함. 엔딩 보기가 불친절한 것은....이미 성토한 사람이 많아서 패스. 전 그냥 빡쳐서 유튜브로 엔딩 봄. 그럼에도 불구하고 스토리가 마음에 남기는 파문이 있고 신선했음. 한번은 해 볼만 할지도 모르겠는데 지인들에겐 솔직히 그 시간에 딴 거 하라고 할거임. 앞으로 오늘의 게임에 속지 않겠다는 결심을 하게 만든 게임. ### 2/5 — Bien mais... *2019-07-30* ... les énigmes sont intelligemment intégrées à la narration. Visuellement c’est plutôt pas trop mal... par contre les histoires des personnages tirent trop sur le pathos et le tout manque fe cohérence. Ça ne tient pas la route. L’écriture est vraiment faiblarde et certains détails gore sont superflus. With nice stories this is something i will likely return to from time to time ### 5/5 — Beautiful but tragic *2020-09-01* This wonderful little indie game tells the story of five peoples lives through a mixture of exploring their house/work to find a photo opportunity then playing a mini game to progress the story. Each person has a different tragic tale to uncover and a different type of mini game. Each story lasts around half an hour so it should take around 2 and a half hours to finish the game. Overall the stories are really well written and quite moving and the pixel art style is really cute. ### 5/5 — Excelente *2020-04-26, version 1.1.1346* Es un maravilloso juego narrativo combinado con puzzles que nos cuenta 5 historias diferentes. Los diálogos y la música hacen que te sumerjas en cada una de las historias. El argumento de cada narración es duro y conmovedor. En resumen, sobresaliente experiencia que dura unas 2 horas en total. The pixel art is outstanding. ### 5/5 — A masterpiece *2019-07-22* This game is truly a masterpiece for mobile gaming. The stories draw you in, getting you emotionally involved, while the puzzles challenge you and help to unfold the story line. I had to look up one puzzle to help me solve it, it can be difficult at times. But it’s an offline game so is great to take on a long plane ride, and the commentary feature is incredible. Coming from a game development background, it’s so cool to hear how the developer chose to do certain things to advance the story or craft puzzles. Highly recommend playing the second time around with commentary on. Great work all around, 5 stars.
