Not a deal breaker but is a little didsapointing ### 2/5 — Glad my subscription is up next month.. *2016-04-24, version 4.6* Do they actually test drive updates before releasing? It literally takes 10-15 mins and that just takes me to an ad that I have to X out then about another 5 mins to get to the magazines where you then have to download the issue. ### 4/5 — Well done *2015-06-25* Great easy to use app for a great magazine. ### 2/5 — Crashes *2015-01-30* Used to be a great app, but now crashes 50% of the time. ### 5/5 — Focused, timely, relevant guidance for enthusiasts and aspiring amateurs *2014-12-09, version 3.8.1* As the first photography magazine subscription I've ever purchased, each issue of Photography Week focuses on one specific technique, style or creative challenge, which keeps me inspired and motivated to get out and master that week's subject. Monthly photography magazines have often overwhelmed me with possible challenges and assignments in a single issue, and I never find the time to learn all of them. However, Photography Week succeeds perfectly at isolating the myriad of potential subjects to one topic per issue. Photography Week doesn't feel like a magazine. It feels like a photography program at a world-renowned art institute, and I look forward to every issue like the next session of class. ### 2/5 — Buyer beware - Half the issues won't open *2014-11-14, version 3.8.1* The most recent issue, as well as many previous issues will not open at all. Great idea, but I'm going to have to cancel my subscription because I can't read any of the issues on my iPhone 6 plus because they're crashing! ### 4/5 — Mag Review *2014-11-08* I took out a subscription because I enjoy reading the magazine. Sometimes the app plays up asking for more subscription and sometimes the auto download doesn't work. I have submitted photos but have never had any selected but I also don't know that they have been received. Someway of acknowledging receipt would be good. The recent change to the format seems to have left the content a little on the light side. However I really enjoy the weekly fix of all things photographic. Keep up the great work! ### 5/5 — Ideal weekly read for a photographer *2014-11-01, version 3.8.1* I rarely review apps but this one deserves it. The articles are useful and a great read, no fluff. It's full of inspiring images that make me want to get out my camera and go shooting. And last, the compact weekly format is perfect for a busy hobby shooter like me. ### 1/5 — Crash crash crash! *2014-10-24* Love the content but since iOS8 the app has become almost unusable. Have had to remove and reinstall several times. Once you FINALLY complete your purchase the magazine is a pretty terrible experience, the pages don’t even fit my iPad properly and it basically feels like a cheap PDF. On top of this the magazine itself only consists of around 36 pages which is utterly ridiculous. I thought half of it was missing. OK to read at a push for five minutes but after that, well, you might as well surf the net as you will probably find more content. I remember when magazines were first launched on iPad, they were incredible with interactive 3D models, tons of videos and loads of other stuff to keep you interested. Now it just feels like a cheap and nasty experience. I doubt, unless it improves significantly, that I will continue with it for long!! 👎👎👎 ### 1/5 — CRASHES *2020-09-27* Took money for subscription and now it crashes on iOS 14. No response from support on refund or a fix ### 1/5 — Poor *2019-12-31* Content is excellent but the app takes an age to load - sometimes times out - and is barely functional. ### 1/5 — Paying again for subscribed issues *2019-09-12* I have subscribed and then been charged for issues I’ve downloaded, so effectively paying twice for one publication. The company say it’s an Apple issue and to get a refund from Apple, however Apple are saying I’m not eligible for a refund, so I’m out of pocket and no one wants to know - I’ve been ripped off. ### 1/5 — App stop working *2017-05-27, version 4.9.5* Paid for a year subscription but the app stop working. It will not load up "store" and therefore I can't access issues...that I paid for!! ### 1/5 — Extremely slow to load *2017-02-21* I used to love the previous versions until lately, it took more than 5mins to load despite the fact that I have an active account. YES, an active account and yet unable to access the store nor my own library of collection. I am not getting what I have paid much ahead! ### 1/5 — Slow slow slow *2016-11-30* The content of the weekly mag is acceptable for the price and once the magazine is loaded, the app runs fine. Frustrations - Takes an age to start up when opened Sticks on downloading and only way to fix is to uninstall and renew all downloads again Keeps trying to sell more bumpf- even though I have subscribed already Occasional crash which goes back to taking near a minute to open again... Not recommended and will not be renewing subscription. ### 1/5 — Once great, now tediously terrible *2016-08-18, version 4.9.1* I've subscribed for 2+ years, but recently turned off my annual September auto-renew. Changes amount to still more in-your-face obtrusive popups, advertising a sister zine, quiz or buying older editions of this zine. What was once smooth operation is now a sputtering mess. In short, these folks no longer respect the reader, which shows at every turn. I'm off to find another photog zine. This one is now on my blacklist. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2016-04-24, version 4.6* I paid for the Canon Guide book and also for ALL back issues and it took almost 3 days to download the magazines. I have a 125mbps connection so it's not that. The app constantly freezes and restarts downloads. Definitely not renewing my subscription. Often there are helpful tips, reviews and news shorts. The most consistent thing I enjoy is the gallery - readers' pictures that are at least interesting and sometimes inspirational. ### 5/5 — A good wee read *2015-09-11* I find photography week provides articles and projects that are just long enough to hold your attention but not too long to hold you back. Often read it on a Friday as part of my lead into the weekend. It gives me a quick top up of interest and curiosity to encourage me to make sure I take the opportunity over the weekend to press the shutter button.
