Can not change aspect ratio so you are stuck on 4:3 2. You can not select 24mp which you can on the iPhone photo app 3. Macro is rubbish compared to your old app of Camera+ 4. Love the look of it and was almost tempted to buy but putting app into manual mode and then attempting to alter iso, shutter speed etc caused the app to crash and close. I loved that app. I was given no warning that the app was discontinuing to allow for the new Photon Camera. It suddenly became non-existent on my phone, mind you, I used it all the time. I was quite surprised it was gone. I had purchased all the upgrades and ad-ons also, mine was the legacy. Now I can’t even access it but have to now make a new purchase of photon. Honestly, I think this new app should be free or even greatly discounted since I had bought all ad-on’s for my original camera + legacy app. I am rating at 1 due to the negligence of notification and discontinuation of my original product. ### 1/5 — Not for me *2024-12-05, version 5.0.1* To hard to work ### 1/5 — Cuidado ao comprar. *2024-12-03* Cuidado!! Ich habe mehrere verachiedere Geräte, mit und ohne Selfie Stick, getestet. Es funktioniert nicht. Die gleichen Bluetooth-Geräte funktionieren einwandfrei mit der Standard Foto App von meinem iPhone. A menos que me digan que es un error de la versión que tengo pero según creo es la más nueva. ### 1/5 — Why ruin a good thing *2024-10-13* I already purchased the Camera+ app and I’m upset that I’m force to transition to the Photon and pay a subscription that I don’t want!!! All my photo library is out of sequence. I do NOT want to relearn a new app. Let me be or refund me the Camera+ purchase. I’ll find something. All this happen without warning and at the worst time when I had a photo shoot. OMG! So upsetting. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Subscription or purchase disappointment, 2/18/26. *2026-02-17, version 6.0.5* I looked for and didn’t see anything about a price for this app, nor if it was a subscription. Very disappointed in the developer’s intention to not clearly show it written up in the description. I did see the in app purchase note early. Wondered if it was an app option, or worst it they snuck in a must pay eventually, no matter what - for don’t tell me that it is free because it has a trial of a few days. That is just wrong. That is what they did. It has both! I learned after downloading. I have deleted the app. The buy option is very high. ### 1/5 — Liars *2025-09-05* Had the previous app that was discontinued. Vendre Camera + à une entreprise qui vous demande de payer une deuxième fois, et lancer une nouvelle application qui vous demande de payer un abonnement / une fois : Zéro confiance si vous allez le vendre à nouveau / vous demander de payer à nouveau. The one time purchase option is great too, but disappears if you take the free trial. Will use it on my vacation this week and see how well it works. My main interest initially was to have the capability to save pictures directly to an SD card via the USB drive. I have tested that aspect and it works great. ### 5/5 — There’s a learning curve but simple is best *2024-08-27* Been using the photon app for a few years now. I’m always surprised by how little media coverage this app has compared to others such as Halide. After taking a 7 day trial of Halide, I have switched back to photon. There is no beating photon’s simple and intuitive UI, the ball control for white balance and the overall ease of use within the app. Photon studio is a lovely edition, being able to see your photos on a larger screen in real time as you take them. I wish photon enhance was available to customers who have paid for the once off fee as opposed to just those who have an ongoing subscription. And lastly, Noel from customer service is alway timely in her replies and provides thorough, indepth explanations. But my #1 favorite camera for those shots when I just want to pull the iPhone out of my pocket and take a quick photo (which is 95% of the time) is Photon.
