### 2/5 — Stripping metadata from photos

Use of this app to copy photos & video from my iPhone 15+ running iOS18 is stripping location data. It also copies heif and converts them to separate jpg & dng files. The end result is a lack of context and duplication.

**Developer response:** This app backup all metadata, including location. You can configure HEIC to back up only HEIC files, not JPG. DNG files are RAW photos. If you need help configuring the app, please contact us. We’re happy to assist you.

An sich ist die App cool, bietet viele Einstellmöglichkeiten und kann (im Gegensatz zum „Original“ von QNAP) auch mit HEIC Dateien umgehen. Leider stürzt der Backupprozess unregelmäßig immer wieder nach ca. 200 Bildern ab. Das ist lästig, wenn man viele Fotos macht und sollte bei einer App für fast 50(!) Euro für die lebenslange Version nicht sein. Daher nur 3 Sterne und keine Verlängerung des probeabos.

The issue has been observed on an iOS 17.1.2 device, specifically the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

**Developer response:** Third-party apps have a limited time to run in the background, as noted in the app description. There is a detailed explanation of how background backup works in the app's automatic backup option.

Restarting your NAS and iPhone may solve the performance issue. Checking the configuration of your network and NAS is recommended to improve performance.

Ich erinnere mich noch, dass ich App damals für merklich günstiger ergattert habe.
Jetzt wollte ich, dass meine Frau ihre Bilder ebenfalls über die App sichert und sehe, dass man 50€ haben will für die Lifetimelizenz.
Das ist uns dann doch etwas viel.
Ich werde die Software weiter nutzen, aber meine Frau halt leider nicht.

The application works well to backup your photos to a Qnap Nas even better than official apps from Qnap but doesn’t support two way authentication ( that is almost mandatory nowadays) I hope in the near future will be available

O niczym nie muszę pamiętać, otwieram kompa, klikam w zakładkę NAS, patrzę, a tam wszystkie zdjęcia już są. Proste i przyjemne. POLECAM!!!

Great App for Photo & Video’s straight to Qnap.
Means not having to rely on ICloud which in my opinion is fantastic and also means you having a local copy that you can access very easily or add to your own personal collection and players such as Plex or similar. At the moment, I have no faults with the app other then no support for 2factor Authentication. You can get around this quite easily by setting up another account without but being the high visibility of ensuring the best security; it would be great to have this as an added feature really soon so that 2factor accounts will work effortlessly! Once this is enabled, this will definitely get 5stars from me.

Its fine for just bulk backup, but there is no possibility to check what was and what was not backed up, there is no option to pick particular date/ series/ folder to back up.

I use this app for more than 1 year now and everything works fine till I decide to set up 2 step verification on my NAS server. This app doesn’t support it which is not clearly stated in app description. If you don’t mind about 2 step verification this app is perfect to send your pics to NAS server.

What a shame you want users to pay again to backup photos and videos. This is the reason we bought this NAS so we can save money on a longer run. Now you are trying to get more money to backup our phones come on. Looks like i have wasted my money I should have go 
For other products. Extremely disappointed with qnap NAS.

Ich bin ja dafür, dass man für eine gut funktionierende App ohne Werbung auch mal 20€ bezahlen kann. Bei größerem Funktionsumfang gerne auch mal mehr. Aber ein Abo-Modell für eine Backup App die keinen externen Server oder ähnliches benötigt? Und der Preis von 65€ für die "Lifetime" version ist völlig realitätsfremd. Danke aber als ich das gesehen habe habe ich die App direkt wieder gelöscht. Sehr schade!

Major issue - Videos backup was turned on. Some videos got backed up and others didn’t. A big huge chunk of videos were missing! Raised a support issue. I am not trusting this all. I bought the full pro version! Hope the company fixes the issue asap.

Do tej pory było super, ale firma nagle wprowadziła zmiany i tylko w wersji płatnej można przesłać pliki wideo. W wersji darmowej tylko zdjęcia. Szkoda, że nie poinformowano o tych zmianach użytkowników (pół wieczoru spędziłem na sprawdzeniu od kiedy bacupowałem tylko zdjęcia. Nie polecam!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking for a way to back up my iCloud photos without giving my password to a third party app.
This is the perfect solution. It gives you the option to back up all of your photos, albums. It includes bursts screenshots and quite literally everything that I could think of.

Super happy to have a local copy of all of my photos that didn’t require a degree in engineering. In fact I couldn’t believe it was so simple to use.

Works exactly how you might want it to. I use it to sync pictures from my iphone to my qnap. I have it set to backup photos from an album to a specific directory that I use for a home made digital picture frame.

Ich muss nach meiner letzten Bewertung etwas zurück rudern.
Der Preis ist zwar immer noch heftig für eine Software, die „nur Fotos“ sichert, allerdings relativiert sich das zumindest, wenn man bei Apple die Family Share Funktion nutzt.
Dennoch kenne ich Software, die für 50 € wert. Mehr kann als nur Fotos sichern.
