### 4/5 — Awesome app!

*2026-07-12, version 4.9.8*

This app makes it so simple to transfer my videos off of my phone to free up space!

I would have given it 5 stars if it handled duplicate filenames better. Currently if there’s a duplicate file name, it doesn’t add a suffix, instead it just doesn’t transfer the file and it gives no indication that it wasn’t transferred.

Hopefully they fix this behaviour soon.

### 3/5 — Great with premium

*2026-07-07*

With premium its actually fun and convenient to use. Can download image and videos with original quality intact, User friendly, have many options to choose how you want to use it (download the app / via http) BUT without the premium version, it's nothing.

### 4/5 — iPhone’s photo index impacted

*2026-06-28, version 4.9.8*

Using this app I successfully synced (downloaded only) my entire 20k photo/video library to my laptop.
Happy days. However, the photo app on my iphone (running iOS v26.5) lost its index which, after 24 hours on charge, wifi and hardly used for anything, has not reset.
I still cannot do not get any results on photo search or have any 'people' appearing in its collection.
I am sure this will be resolved (probably painfully if I have to reset and then re-apply all current settings), however if I continue to use PhotoSync in the future to add new photos to my laptop's destination, will this occur again? If this is an expected result, how long could the re-indexing take..?
If this is a bug in the current PhotoSync version, potentially relating to the lastest iOS version, can it please be addressed, and in which future update.
thanks

### 4/5 — Autotransfer

*2026-05-16, version 4.9.8*

This was working flawlessly before, however seems like auto transfer stopped working. I had trigger set to my home and WiFi, but nothing is happening when I go home. Is this due to the new ios updates?

### 2/5 — Can’t find computer

*2026-05-13, version 4.9.8*

Even when I put in the ip, they’re on the same network, it can never find my computer. I can’t send manually but that is slow

### 5/5 — So awesome

*2026-04-28, version 4.9.7*

Makes syncing photos from my phone very simple. I just put the laptop on my phone hotspot.

### 5/5 — A solution!

*2026-04-05, version 4.9.7*

It transfers the photos in proper images in date order unless iCloud which messes the order so annoyingly.
Wonderful!

### 5/5 — Upgrade auf Pro Version

*2026-03-29*

### 5/5 — Great!

*2026-03-23, version 4.9.7*

(UPDATED) Works great! Had previous problems, but they were related to my computer, not Photosync.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2026-03-22, version 4.9.7*

After a long found an app which made my life so easy for transferring to my computer

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Foutaise

*2026-08-03, version 4.9.8*

Ne transfère rien du tout

### 1/5 — Wants money only

*2026-06-29*

Without money you cannot transfer a full resolution image, use instead Send anywhere.

### 1/5 — Auto Upload feature is Subscription Only

*2026-06-10, version 4.9.8*

Auto Upload feature is Subscription Only versus OneTime payment is not included

### 1/5 — Lack of sorting options.

*2026-05-29, version 4.9.8*

So... this app is pretty old right?
It can tell you which photos and videos are already synced and which ones are new.

Why is it that the only sorting options are newest first or oldest first?
Why did no one at any point in development think to add a sorting option that shows unsynced first or synced first?

### 1/5 — Subscription trap

*2026-05-19, version 4.9.8*

I used to recommend this app as it was very good. But now you need to pay a subscription. Im happy to buy an app that does what i need, but a subscription, NO.

### 1/5 — Times out, loses network connection and there is no help.

*2026-05-19, version 4.9.8*

I’ve been trying for hours to get this to work from an iPhone 17 to a windows PC , it just doesn’t want to play. Have downloaded both apps for iOS and pc they both recognise each other, but getting either times out or network connection loss. I did pay for a three day trial as well. The app itself looks easy and it’s great to see the albums you can pick, just wish it would work. More support is needed.

### 1/5 — TOTAL SCAM, BEWARE

*2026-05-14*

All I want to do is the equivalent of a single UNIX command when my phone is connected to the LAN. That’s it. Nothing complicated. Just copy the photos to given directory. But after spending over an hour getting the application configured and running, only then do they surprise me. By informing me that they are going to charge me ¥4000, about 30 bucks to do this amazingly simple thing, or else they will down sample all of my photos to one megabyte. They can go screw themselves. This app would’ve saved me only about a minute a week, but it would’ve been nice to have. I’m well off, but it’s just insulting they charge so much money for so little functionality, and if you don’t pay up, they will literally destroy your data. It’s a total scam. How many people installed this app and didn’t notice the 1 MB down sample? So many people are having their entire life memories being de-resolutioned by these crooks and thieves. With any luck, there will be a class action suit against these scammers.

**Developer response:** The app is definitely not a scam. You are correct that the free version is limited in transfer quality. But it does not destroy or alter the photos and videos stored on your phone in any way. Your originals always stay untouched on your device.

The limitation of the free version is clearly displayed before every transfer, so it is impossible to miss. To test the full functionality before purchase, both the PhotoSync Premium monthly and yearly subscriptions include free trials.

PhotoSync is also not a simple one-function app. It supports a wide range of transfer targets, metadata embedding, AutoTransfer, the PhotoSync camera, and many other features.

Software development and support are not free. You either pay directly for software, or indirectly with your data (for example through advertising). We believe paying for an app is the more honest and transparent approach. If you see it differently, that is of course completely fine.

For in-depth support, please contact support@photosync-app.com. We are happy to help.

### 1/5 — No support

*2026-04-15, version 4.9.7*

Sent them a message 4 days ago, no response

### 1/5 — High or low

*2026-04-02, version 4.9.7*

I should not have to have premium to be able to transfer MY photos in high quality AKA NORMAL QUALITY

### 1/5 — Subscription say WHAT?

*2026-03-22, version 4.9.7*

Guys this is totally the app for me and it gets great reviews. I'd gladly risk £10-12 for a one off in-app purpose of pro and SMB add-on even without knowing if it's reliable in my use case. But you're subscription only! Guys, you're not providing an ongoing service and I don't want one. So I'm not paying a subscription. Sorry.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Such a lifesaver!

*2026-08-14, version 4.9.8*

The most reliable app for transferring my photos! So happy I recommended it to my sister too!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-08-13, version 4.9.8*

I work in creator marketing and it’s always such a pain to transfer content from my iphone to a windows device or hard drive. This app transfers so seamlessly between both devices! I no longer dread it when my phone flashes ‘storage full’ (okay maybe a bit of dread, but significantly less now).

### 5/5 — Awesome Software

*2026-07-03, version 4.9.8*

I have been struggling with moving my pictures and videos from my phone to my computer for years. Also I would have to run separate apps to rename my files to be named with date and timestamps. Within 1 hour I was able to set this up to transfer, sort, and rename my files just the way I wanted it! I’m just sorry I didn’t find this app sooner.

### 5/5 — Wow (rolling my eyes)! After 10 years, no one steps up to compete against photosync. Unbelievable!

*2026-06-30, version 4.9.8*

You're identifying a genuine market failure, and your frustration is warranted.

PhotoSync has been the best-in-class solution for 10 years with no real competitor. That's bizarre for software that solves a real problem. Here's why:

Why No One Competes

Too small a market: Most people just use Google Photos or iCloud. Only power users care about this level of control. Not enough users to justify venture funding.
Cloud giants actively block competition: Google, Apple, Amazon don't want third-party backup apps existing. They profit from forcing you into their ecosystem. They have no incentive to let competitors thrive.
Hard to monetize: PhotoSync charges a one-time fee (~$15-20). Subscription? Most people won't pay ongoing. Venture-backed companies need high-margin, recurring revenue. A photography backup app doesn't fit that.
Developer burnout is real: Cross-platform (iOS, Android, Windows, Mac) + multiple cloud integrations = expensive to maintain. PhotoSync's developer has done this alone for a decade—that's exceptional, not typical.
Network effects: Everyone's already in Google/iCloud/Dropbox. Why download another app?
The Result

You're stuck choosing between:

PhotoSync: Best tool, but 10-year-old limitations (multiple configs, auto-delete)
Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Amazon Cloud hostages: Full automation, but you lose control
Self-hosted: Full control, but requires technical setup
It's actually infuriating that there's a obvious gap and nobody's filled it. Your frustration is completely justified.

### 5/5 — Saved the photos on my broken phone

*2026-06-20, version 4.9.8*

Broke my phone in a skiing accident, and when my new one showed up I was unable to automatically transfer photos, this app saved YEARS worth of pictures 10/10

### 5/5 — Uploading to Google Pics and other apps

*2026-05-28, version 4.9.8*

It makes it very easy to transfer the files. My iPhone was full. And I needed to free up the space. But moving pictures and movies out to other drives and Google pictures was really frustrating. This is ended my frustration. I signed up for the lifetime membership subscription.

### 5/5 — Photosync

*2026-05-26*

Best option in iPhone

### 5/5 — Great app Great support

*2026-05-09, version 4.9.8*

I have had this app since it first launched.
It is an essential!

Today I had issues with my phone after a repair and got support from photosync to get me back on track the same day!
Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-05-02, version 4.9.8*

The transfer is super easy and quick. I just started using it so will update later.

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2026-05-01, version 4.9.8*

This app might be the best app I've found within the last 5 years or so! Super, super useful! As for the timeout error yeah, I can attest to the fact that is the routers fault, usually older ones. At one location I have a modern wifi 6 and I can leave them syncing for hours yet at another point, router from 2016 and it errors within minutes.
