## What is Photress?

Photress is a private, encrypted photo and video library designed to keep your files under your control. Your media stays on your iPhone and in backup locations you choose. No Photress account is required.

PRIVATE ACCESS
• Open your library with Face ID or your local App Code.
• Import photos and videos from Photos or Files.
• Browse your photos, play videos, and organize with albums, favorites, and smart collections. Pro also adds nested folders and additional independent backup destinations.

ENCRYPTION BEYOND THE LOCK SCREEN
• Original photo and video resources, thumbnails, library metadata, and local indexes are encrypted at rest.
• Every media resource gets its own random 256-bit key. AES-256-GCM encrypts and authenticates the data, so altered or corrupted encrypted content is rejected.
• Metadata uses a separately keyed SQLCipher database. Backup Passphrases use Argon2id, while the local App Code is deliberately excluded from portable-backup encryption.

BACKUPS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND
• Choose iCloud Drive, an external drive, or another Files location.
• You can see each step separately: whether the backup was written, uploaded to your chosen storage, passed an integrity check, and passed a restore test.
• Open a portable backup with a Backup Passphrase you create or an independent 24-word Recovery Key.

YOUR FILES STAY YOURS
• View and export everything you have added, even without an active subscription.
• Restore, create an emergency backup, resolve backup conflicts, and delete your existing data without renewing Pro.
• No ads, no behavioral tracking, and no developer media server. Photress cannot remotely access your library.

FREE AND PRO
The free version does not expire. You can add up to 200 photos or videos in total and use the essential tools for private access, backup, recovery, viewing, export, and deletion. Monthly, Annual or Lifetime Pro removes the app’s 200-item addition limit and unlocks the advanced features available in this version. Photress does not provide storage; available space depends on your iPhone and chosen destinations. Annual Pro includes a 14-day free trial.

Important: Photress cannot reset a lost Backup Passphrase or recreate a lost Recovery Key. Keep the Backup Passphrase or Recovery Key used for each backup somewhere safe and easy to find. Storage availability and upload status depend on the location you choose.
