## What is PhraseFit?

Knowing what a phrase means isn't the same as knowing when to use it.

PhraseFit labels every phrase — polite, honorific, or casual — and tells you who to say it to and when.
Not test prep. Real phrases people actually use at work, while traveling, and in everyday life.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• Business — 9 categories, 270 phrases
• Travel — 6 categories, 180 phrases
• Daily Life — 6 categories, 180 phrases

630 phrases across 21 categories, each written in Japanese, Korean, and English.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
• Formality is labeled on every phrase. Pick the level that fits the person in front of you
• Narrow a list by formality and by level — only the steps that category actually holds
• Every phrase carries a usage note: when to use it, and when not to
• Readings and romanization included, so unfamiliar characters never stop you
• Search by romanization — no need to type kana or Hangul
• Audio playback for every phrase

BUILT-IN DICTIONARY
Tap a word inside a phrase to see what it means, how it's used, and every other phrase it appears in.
450 Japanese, 340 Korean, and 325 English entries — you see the language you're learning.

REVIEW WHAT YOU'VE READ
• Quick review — 5 questions, whenever you have a minute
• Speed drop — the phrase falls, and you choose before it lands
• Missed phrases are kept, so you can go straight back to them
• A widget puts one phrase on your home screen each day
• An optional daily reminder — off unless you turn it on

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.5 — 2026-09-08

756 phrases, and every genre the same depth.

• 126 new phrases, 756 in all. Every category across business, travel and daily life now holds 36.
• Every word in the dictionary now leads to the phrases that use it — no entry is left without an example.
• Tap today's phrase on the widget and it opens right there — no looking for it again in the app.
• With VoiceOver, Speed review now leaves time to hear the correct answer; before, it moved on the moment the answer appeared.

### 1.4.4 — 2026-09-07

Tap the widget to open that phrase directly, and VoiceOver now gets time to read the answer.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-09-04

Narrow the list by level.

• The phrase list now has Basic, Intermediate and Advanced, and it works together with the formality switch.
• Only the levels a category actually holds are offered — no button that leads to an empty list.
• The search field is there the moment you open the Search tab; before, you had to pull down to find it.
• Library and Settings have a tidier top bar: more of the list fits, and the help button sits in the same place on both.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-09-03

120 new phrases, 630 in all.

• Every travel and daily-life category grew from 20 phrases to 30 — the airport, the clinic, talking with neighbors.
• Casual speech is here: what you say to a friend or to the person traveling with you. Until now it was polite and honorific only.
• The phrase list has a formality switch, and it offers only the levels that category actually has.
• The dictionary is up to 1,115 words, including the ones in the new phrases (PhraseFit Pro).

### 1.4.1 — 2026-09-02

A dictionary is here.

• 1,074 words — from the polite forms used in the phrases to everyday words like "friend" and "family."
• Not just meanings. Many entries also say how the word is actually used: who you say it to, and what you use instead.
• Tap a word to see the phrases that use it.
• Every phrase now lists the words inside it, so you can check one without leaving the screen.
• Search by meaning as well as by spelling or reading.
• The dictionary opens with PhraseFit Pro.

Also in this update:
• Sharing a phrase card now sends the App Store link with it, so the person who gets it can find the app.
• The Home Screen icon now reads PhraseFit, フレーズフィット or 프레이즈핏 to match your device language.
• Opening locked content re-checks your purchase, so Pro unlocks without tapping Restore even right after a reinstall.
