## What is Physicians’ CPD?

The Physicians’ CPD app enables you to record and reflect on your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at the point of learning in order to prepare for your appraisal. It’s been designed to complement the established web-based CPD diary system which is used by over 17,000 Consultant and SAS grade physicians.

Benefits include:

-	Syncs with the existing web-based CPD diary system.
-	Access to our list of approved activities (over 5000 events) reviewed by a network of consultant physicians.
-	Add educational activities whilst ‘on the go’ with online/offline capability.
-	Voice transcribe your development needs and reflections instantly.
-	Add attachments as supporting information to your activities (such as a certificate of attendance.)
-	Add personal development needs and assign activities to Good Medical Practice (GMP) domains.
-	E-mail yourself your annual appraisal report as a PDF file at the press of a button.

If you are already a CPD diary user, simply download the Physicians’ CPD app on your device and use your log-in details. After an initial first time sync to corroborate your data and settings (internet connectivity recommended) you can then begin entering your educational activities. ### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2022-10-12, version 1.5.0*

When it works it’s great and very easy to use but the majority of the time it gets stuck on the open “synch latest data” page and is unusable, which is a shame. It’s been doing this for a while so surprised it’s still so glitchy 🤷‍♀️

### 1/5 — Doesn’t synch

*2021-12-02, version 1.5.0*

This worked briefly and was great however it then wouldn’t synch data and even when uninstalled and started again refuses to synch. Great idea terrible code

### 5/5 — App not working

*2021-06-20, version 1.4.0*

App not working any more, last couple of days the same message keeps showing about the update can someone help please
Thanks

### 1/5 — Log-in sync

*2021-04-14, version 1.3.1*

The app is stuck at log-in sync and no longer of use!

### 1/5 — Broken - stuck on login sync page

*2020-03-22, version 1.3.1*

This was a good app but after changing my RCP password I was prompted to login again.

I have tried multiple times deleting the app, turning phone on & off and reinstalling but it never gets past the login sync page (I have even tried leaving it overnight - no difference).

At present unusable which is a shame.

### 3/5 — Great when it works, but sometimes loses entire entries

*2019-08-05, version 1.2*

The first few times I used the app, it was brilliant, on either phone or iPad. It is great to be able to record entries at the time. However, I have now had 3 occasions when it has lost an entire entry, my notes on a whole day’s course. I think this occurred when the WiFi to the iPad was cutting in and out, almost as if it was saving an empty entry over the top. You can imagine how infuriating this was, especially as it had been saving successfully earlier in the day. My solution is now that I NEVER type directly into the app, and only cut and paste entries in from notes. I would advise you do the same, especially if like me you sometimes do quite long entries. The dismay and frustration it can cause in the middle of a course or conference really isn’t worth the risk.

### 1/5 — Frozen on start up

*2019-04-24, version 1.2*

I have reinstalled the app multiple times on different devices and the app is unable to get past the initial sync.

### 1/5 — Initially very useful but then it stopped working

*2019-04-09, version 1.2*

I found this app initially very helpful as it enabled me to record my CPD immediately and easily keep up to date with logging activities. While it was working (with my iPhone 7) it was great but just before my appraisal I discovered that the app on my iPhone had stopped synchronising with the web based CPD and hence had not recorded anything centrally for several months. This meant I had to transfer everything manually via my computer into the web based CPD page which took several hours. I then deleted the app and reinstalled it to try and get it working again but it still would not synchronise and I cannot use it. I hope you can come up with a fix for this?

### 4/5 — App is an important advance for busy clinical staff

*2018-11-20, version 1.2*

The principal advantage of this app is being able to make entries ‘live’ while at the event. This helps to take the pain out of record keeping for Revalidation.
Sync seems slow even with a good data connection.
I’m surprised it took the College so long to produce this app. Now if the RCP would overhaul the interface for the web based diary which has progressed little since I first started using it in 2001/2!

### 5/5 — Great

*2018-11-07, version 1.2*

Excellent app. Looking forward to a macOS version.
