## What is Physio Exercise Tracker?

Hello! Physio Exercise Tracker helps you do - and track - your physio exercises. In fact, any physical therapy exercises.

I found it difficult to motivate myself to do my exercises, so I created this app to help me. Then I thought it might help you too, and so I made it better and then available to all. Please use it and tell me what you think and how it can be improved. It's my first app, so be gentle!

With the app you can:

• create exercises with sets/reps/comments/cues
• add your own video of you doing the exercise (ideally filmed by your physio, doing it correctly), or add web links like a YouTube demo
• add a schedule for each exercise, with reminders
• log when you've done an exercise, with optional detail (pain, difficulty, and notes or questions for your physio)
• show and/or send your physio a clear report of your exercise log - pain and difficulty trends for each exercise, a session-by-session breakdown, and any notes you've added. They can properly treat you then
• set your next physio appointment and get a countdown to it...
• organise your exercises into programmes, review your history on a calendar, and back up your data
• even change the text of your reminder message to something more "motivational" for you

And it's completely private: everything stays on your phone. No account, no sign-up, no cloud, no tracking. Your physio data is nobody else's business.

Warning: to encourage you to do your exercises when you should and to give your physio an accurate report, you can only log an exercise as done on the day you do it. No backdating! OMG. Evil but effective - like many of the best physios.

Finally, I've included my Top Ten Tips for actually doing your exercises. My favourite is number 5. Do you have any suggestions?

Physio Exercise Tracker does not offer medical advice. It simply helps you do and track your exercises.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-14

Reminders now catch your eye on the lock screen.

If you're in the US, the app speaks American: your physical therapist, your programs, etc. Everyone else keeps British wording. You can also choose which words the app uses, in Settings.

Plus a fix for a bug where changing an exercise's time could alter your past records, and a clearer privacy policy.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-06

If you changed the time or days of an exercise, the app used to rewrite your past record to match – days you had completed could turn red, and your percentage could drop, even though you had done the work. Catastrophe! Your history now stays exactly as it happened. Changing a time only changes things from today onwards.

Also fixed:

Leave the app open overnight and it now notices the new day instead of still showing yesterday's date and yesterday's exercises. Sake.

A day where you completed one exercise and excused another is no longer marked as a fully completed day. Thank goodness.

The calendar and your report now always agree about how much was due. About time too.

"Delete all data" no longer leaves your reminders switched off if the delete itself does not go through, and it tells you what happened. Weird that it did that.

Reports opened in a spreadsheet no longer mangle apostrophes and accents, and notes that begin with a dash or an equals sign survive intact. Jolly good.

Plus a lot of smaller repairs: clearer dark mode, no more duplicate schedules at the same time, a gentler first-run report, and three new jokes (including two of my Dad's favourites).

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-03

Each exercise now has a simple chart of the pain and difficulty you've recorded, so you and your physio can see how you've been doing over the past few weeks. Days you didn't rate are left blank rather than guessed at, and a small mark shows whether a day was done, excused or missed.

Your next physio appointment now appears on the Calendar alongside your exercise days.

The session detail now opens in landscape, so the grid is readable without fighting your phone's rotation lock.

And the per-exercise completion scores have gone from your progress screen. Your physio still gets the full figures in the report - you don't need marking out of ten every time you open the app.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-30

Dark mode. Choose System, Light or Dark in Settings → Appearance. System follows your phone automatically.

Rewards for finishing your day. Complete everything scheduled and you'll unlock a joke, plus one of the Top Ten Tips. Miss a day and you miss that day's joke – possibly forever.

A gentler, more honest record. "Can't do it today?" lets you excuse an exercise with a reason instead of taking a black mark. The calendar now shows partial credit for partly-finished days, and your progress no longer counts exercises that aren't due yet as missed.

Better reminders. An optional evening last-chance nudge before the day closes, which cancels itself once you're done. Tapping a reminder takes you straight to the log. Snooze now behaves properly, and the app tells you when notification permission is switched off instead of failing silently.

Exercises that end. Give an exercise an end date, or mark a whole programme complete, so finished work stops bleeding red through your reports.

Also: faster logging with pain and difficulty ratings, a contact route in Settings for tips and feedback, and fixes for exercise videos going missing after an app update.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-07-02

What's new in 1.0.1:
• A fresh new app icon. People (including Mike) were having difficulty identifying the app
• Redesigned report. See each exercise's pain and difficulty trend at a glance, tap through to a full session-by-session grid, and turn the phone to landscape for the detail
• Reminders now work better (thanks Marie)
• Simpler logging and a tidier layout
• Add web links (like a YouTube demo) to any exercise, and watch your video and links right before you log (thanks Neil)
• Set your next physio appointment and get a countdown. Eeek
• A little congratulations each time you log an exercise, because you're worth it
• Fixes and polish throughout
