## What is Piano Tabs?

Over 800 pieces included. Import your own for anything else.

Piano Tabs includes a giant library of classical pieces with over 800 pieces from over 90 composers. If that’s not enough, you can import your own MIDI files. They’re the industry standard, and super-easy to get hold of. Pieces are displayed as you would play them on a keyboard, so there is no learning curve to get started. Scroll through a piece for interactive playback to help you either find or study a section.

Loop sections. Practise until perfect.

Looping lets you pick specific parts of the piece you want to practise. Just drag the top and bottom handles set the start and end of the loop. With a loop set up up, you can use the speed trainer to have it start each loop playing slowly, and gradually speed up after each loop. Tweak how slow it starts, and how many loops it takes to reach the full tempo.

Make your mark. Annotate anywhere.

Bookmarks let you mark out sections within a piece. You can add as many as you need. Use your finger or Apple Pencil to freehand draw anywhere in the piece to annotate. (iPad only)

Customise every aspect of playback.

View every track within a MIDI file, and change the key and tempo to your liking. Percussion tracks play along side the active track, or can be swapped out for a standard click metronome, or silenced entirely.

Piano Tabs is available via a lifetime purchase that unlocks only the ability to import your own songs, or via a subscription that unlocks the full catalog in addition to song imports.

### 1/5 — Это не MIDI

*2026-07-15*

Приложение не умеет работать с midi клавиатурой, зато постоянно просит денег

### 5/5 — Payment issues in russia

*2026-04-22*

The best and the only good midi app in appstore, unfortunately users from Russia can’t make purchases with either a card or mobile phone. Are there any ways to continue enjoying the full version?

### 2/5 — Functional Visibility

*2025-04-20, version 2.6.1*

The keys of the piano on the app are so dark that you can differentiate the keys from each other against the extremely bright falling notes, which causes me to get lost while playing. I contacted the developer and he didn’t seem to understand my issue and it remains unresolved.

### 1/5 — Why does it cost money

*2024-12-30*

It should be free to play any songs like Synthesia is better because you don’t have to pay like a month but this it’s bad unless they make it free to listen to any songs

**Developer response:** Thousands of hours of work goes into making apps, and charging for this app is the only way is generates money

### 5/5 — Super useful for importing midi

*2024-08-31*

Great intuitive app if you want to import your own midi for learning

### 5/5 — [Fixed] Import seems to be not working…

*2024-08-20*

*Update*

Issue has been resolved! This is a great app!

Purchased the full version to be able to import my own midi files and it just simply doesn’t. I select the file and click on open and it just doesn’t do anything. *Editing to add I received a response from the Developer offering to help figure this out. That’s more than can be said for a lot of other developers.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear you’re having issues! Could you use the ‘contact developer’ feature in the app to send me an email, and I’d love to help you out 😄

### 3/5 — Import seems to be not working…

### 1/5 — Pay for importing a single song

*2024-07-18*

Haha yeah you got me lured in, not paying for anything EVER.

**Developer response:** I’m just a solo developer doing this in my free time. I can’t make money from anything like selling your personal data, and I don’t want to fill the app with ads. So yes, I charge for the app. Hope you understand

Can’t see what notes you’re meant to play and then get an ad to buy so you can’t play the whole song
