### 4/5 — Good but…

*2023-01-18*

The other songs are too expensive and nobody wants to pay for them!!!

### 3/5 — Not for new beginners

*2019-02-11*

I thought this might be a good app for my new (taking for 5 months +) students to review basic notes and rhythm. It starts off a little too difficult for them. I couldn’t find anything in the rhythm that didn’t have eighth notes and dotted quarters. Also, for the “basic” note reading, with just the middle C range. It was a waste of $3.

### 2/5 — Learning notes

*2019-01-06, version 7.4*

Great for learning notes but doesn’t give you the option to have just the treble clef

### 3/5 — Piano tutor for iPad

*2018-07-24*

Current version not as good as previous: keyboard is scrunched and difficult to use. Reduces the useability and benefit of this Ap.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2018-05-14, version 6.3*

This is a very good app for piano lover.

### 5/5 — First rate

*2018-04-05*

I’ve always wanted to play the piano so for Christmas I treated myself to a small keyboard for $99 (complete with stool and earphones so I can practice silently). Piano Tutor is terrific if you’re trying to teach yourself. It has so many different exercises and levels of practice. Great for learning to read music which is really one of my major goals. I am having so much fun with this and any time I have a few spare minutes is good to pick up my iPad and do a Piano Tutor exercise. I’m 75 so it’s never too late to acquire a new passion.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-03-24*

Developer: can you add a way to swipe to go back and replete a section of a song. This is the way I like to learn. Also if there could be a way to print out a song so I can play in Sample Tank.

### 5/5 — You can buy more features if you want to

*2018-03-11*

Want more songs? I wish it had more but basic features that I get is well worth it to start.

As I progress, yes, I will have to pay more but I can finally read sheet music! Practice and boring repetition is made easier as long as I have my IPad or phone with me.

Yes, I am now BEGINNING to be able to read sheet music after using the app a few times

### 2/5 — Only 5 Key signatures

*2018-03-07*

It's a nice concept but the fact that you only have C, D, G, A Major and D, G minor key signatures to choose from, it's a waste of money....there is no reason they could not have done a little extra coding and included every key signature...it is quite deceptive that this was not included in the description...What a let down

### 5/5 — Just beginning and luv a challenge

*2017-10-14*

I am 65 and due to an injury my favorite hobbies I can do no more. I started playing this as a game while recovering and became addicted. It stimulates your mind especially if u have never studies music. Also as a secondary benefit I learned the notes and subsequently I bought a piano and now am playing !! I wish it would give the fingering on the songs as with no formal training I probably don't play the notes correctly. It's also great to practice when traveling so you don't forget what u learned as sometimes that's a problem as a senior. I also recommend the Joytunes app which r more formalized lessons.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2017-09-24, version 7.3*

Seems to load up ok and the graphics are pretty good. I like the scoring system because it helps track progress. The other thing is it's less the five bucks and you gotta like that.

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-09-09, version 7.3*

Am learning to read music with this app...
helps having games and challenges

### 5/5 — Great Communiction

*2017-08-25*

We have just started using this app and so far it is great. We connected it to our digital piano through Bluetooth. To do this we used the following app. Bluetooth MIDI Connect. Works perfectly together.

### 5/5 — Complete beginner!

*2017-08-12*

I'm 62 years old and always wanted to learn music. After a lot of looking, I must say that this is better that the gaming ones that you don't learn much with. Definitely learning notes, sounds, finger positions and music nomenclature all at the same time. Just what I needed to really learn music. Added a midi keyboard and I'm on my way. Just wish there was more free sample music selections. I highly recommend it for anybody starting out, best of all of them! 5 stars!

### 4/5 — Good practice

*2017-07-08, version 7.3*

As a child I played piano. This app is helping me enjoy playing the piano once again.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2017-07-03*

A great app for practice and learn notes

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unclear how to use

*2024-12-19*

Unintuitive. No tutorial. Does not seem to hear notes. Avoid.

### 1/5 — Boring

*2020-03-27*

My child hates it and I don’t think this trash helps for anything crashing all the time, doesn’t work for beginners and doesn’t teach the notes.👎

### 1/5 — App crashes.

*2018-01-01*

App is great but crashes. Very annoyed. Otherwise love.

### 1/5 — Not useful at all

*2017-09-10*

This is just a game. Was hoping to learn how to read music notes and keys. Total rip off as you have to buy the music as well, not much of a tutor more like memory on what button to press. Absolutely nothing to do with learning piano notes or any explanation on the keys or what the difference in notes mean......garbage for someone wanting to learn. Would be great if I already knew the notes

### 1/5 — Boring

*2016-12-30, version 7.2*

This app does not inspire learning. I have to question all the 5-star ratings.

### 1/5 — Don't buy

*2016-09-14, version 7.2*

This is worthless you can do this yourself

### 1/5 — Hate.

*2016-04-24, version 7.2*

THIS APP IS A WASTE OF MONEY. I WANT A REFUND!!!!

### 1/5 — What a load of rubbish

*2015-10-01, version 7.2*

Please don't waste your money on this crap app. It's dreadful and I'm so gutted I spent money on it.

### 1/5 — Calibration does not work (note outside range)

*2014-09-27, version 7.1*

Program says to press lowest amd highest note, i do that and right after it asks a note outside my current octave setting, pitiful.. Needs a short and not too annoying audio cue when you miss a note, needs to add option for the partition to scroll from right to left with a line following tempo (guitar hero-ish), until it does that, it will stay below 3 stars for me...

### 1/5 — Mugged

*2013-10-13, version 7.0*

I normally don't write reviews, but in this case had to. I feel robbed after spending money for 3 lousy songs - baa baa black sheep, twinkle twinkle and If you're happy and you know it.
Well I am unhappy with this app and I know it.
The other songs for sale As baby songs are equally bad.
You are better off getting '
piano dust busters' at least they have some useful tunes

### 5/5 — App review

This is an awesome app! It makes up for what I miss in my practices! I am 75 years old and living on SSI but, when possible I will purchase the full boat!

### 5/5 — This is the best app ever!

*2020-09-11*

I’ve used many apps, in my last 1.5yrs of trying to learn how to play piano and this one is the best yet. It allows you to start at a level that you’re comfortable with and gives instant feedback as you proceed. I give this app an A+

### 5/5 — Simple, excellent

*2020-01-23, version 7.4*

I use this app to practice picking up notes from a score for singing in a local choir. Though my musical skills are poor, this app is very helpful. Also it is quick and easy to use.
