### 4/5 — Very realistic piano sounds great but one thing…

*2026-01-27*

Everything is great I just wish y’all can make it so all the full 88 keys are functional some keys do not work

### 4/5 — Very good app

*2025-11-03, version 8.4.4*

I would recommend this app. The quality of the piano sound is excellent and there’s a lot of possibilities to tweak such things as the sound of the sustained pedal hush and microphone placement in the virtual room. I think some more resources such as YouTube instructional videos might be helpful to get the best out of it.

### 5/5 — Bestes Klavier für iOS

*2025-07-24*

### 5/5 — Best Piano VST ever

*2025-06-07*

I’ve tried many VSTs so far, but first of all, each of them takes up a lot of space, and none of them have the clarity and quality of Pianoteq’s sound. It’s available on all your devices

### 5/5 — The best piano plugin comes to IOS!

*2025-06-04, version 8.4.2*

This beats all the sampled pianos hands down. It is also the best electric piano.

### 5/5 — Merveilleuse qualité sonore

*2025-04-17*

### 5/5 — Simply THE BEST !

*2025-02-15*

Don’t even waste your time with any other IOS piano , most of them sound like tin and un-natural
except pionoteq I do not know how they do it , the pianos are superb , the Rodes even better and the honner clav … OMG ! Won’t say any more but I did win a Grammy while writing a song ..did not use it in the final recording but most of the writing was done using Pianoteq

### 3/5 — please

*2024-12-26, version 8.4.0*

hi Pianoteq, please add a instrument called Yamaha p125

piano (main selection): normal piano
piano 1: live grand piano
piano 2: ballad piano
piano 3: bright grand piano

### 5/5 — Jeden Cent wert

*2024-12-18*

SL88 Grand.

### 4/5 — iPad only version, please.

*2024-11-26*

Beautiful app with superb sounds.

I suspect Modart is missing quite a large chunk of potential earnings from the thousands of hobbyist/non piano players who do not need a desktop version and will never pay the £119 entry price.

If there was an iPad only version priced at £49.99 (still high by iPad standards, but a quality ‘unique app)I suspect it would create a whole new market stream.

This linked with further IAPs priced at £15 (£10 sales) would likely lead to hundreds/thousands? Spending significantly more than £119 pounds Instead of the grand total of zero they will spend at the current price.

A roughly comparable example of this business model on iOS is GeoShred with its IAP sales over time netting more than £119 from me it would not have otherwise received.

Still an outstanding instrument with brilliant dynamics and the one star reduction is only because I am jealous of those that can afford it.

### 5/5 — Finally a proud owner of Pianoteq

*2024-11-06*

After a long struggle was able to purchase a license of this formidable piece of software magic. A truly amazing app that has unmatched modeled instruments. I purchased it for the classic guitar instrument which truly is incredible. No other app on the iPad can match the true to life sounds it can create. The pianos are amazing as well. Looking forward to Modartt expanding the guitar lineup. This 50mb will save you space on your system replacing the multi-gb sampled apps available.

**Developer response:** Hi, if I'm not mistaken, the problem has been resolved and you were able to complete your purchase. If there’s anything further we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

### 5/5 — At Last!

*2024-11-02, version 8.3.2*

Wow, a real piano app where you can use a gradient dampener!
Really good sounds that you can express through you midi keyboard.
Wish I had come across it sooner and saved my money on other apps.

### 5/5 — So so nice

*2024-10-30, version 8.3.2*

I use it more than any other plugin, it sounds so good and is the most fun instrument to play I can’t stop

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — So far have to many issues

*2025-12-24*

I wanted a simple plug in that I could use right away without any issues…..I’m having significant latency issues. I thought it may be because I’m running on an iPad… so I downloaded on the app. I can’t activate because I was not sent a serial number…I got an email saying my account was successfully created but it did not include a serial number so far it’s been a big headache.. there needs to be a phone contact for tech support !

### 1/5 — stuttering audio on ios 26, m1 ipad

*2025-09-22, version 8.4.3*

paid a ton, getting glitches galore. not my device, reformatted it to try to address the problem and it didn’t help. doesn’t seem like the app is updated to support the new ios.

### 1/5 — Impossible !!

*2025-07-10, version 8.4.3*

I at the App Store trying to purchase app and it impossible to order. Who came up with this stupid plan?

### 1/5 — Priced for Kings and Elites!

*2025-06-14, version 8.4.2*

Ridiculous price scheme only kings and elites can afford. They can’t even be bothered to give just one complete piano for free. Instead they offer a demo and then after a limited time it gets paywalled behind a $130 price tag. There isn’t even a way to buy a handful of “pianos” that leads to the complete package. Not worth the price for something physically modeled, especially with better/cheaper options. I don’t care how much space it saves my device, there are cheap, fast storage options for a fraction f this price.

### 1/5 — TECLA NÃO FUNCIONA

*2025-01-16*

### 1/5 — Horrible customer service

*2024-10-14*

I’ve been trying for the past week to purchase the Stage license through the App Store for my iPad. The Restore Purchases button I keep clicking takes me to an authenticate page where I’m supposed to enter a username and password which I don’t have. Customer service Niclas keeps replying to press the Restore Purchases button . I can’t get past that. Yet he doesn’t understand and this is frustrating. Is Modartt trying to bypass App Store purchases to force people to buy a license through their website? I repeatedly told customer service I prefer to purchase through the App Store. It’s either there’s a bug which does not allow proper purchase through the Apple App Store, or Modartt is making it impossible and divert purchases to save the commission they owe apple. This is beyond dirty. Now I don’t care to buy a license anymore.

### 1/5 — There's a reason they hide how much it costs

*2024-07-30, version 8.3.1*

It's perfectly adequate as a midi sound unit.

No, it is not worth $140 for two stinking sampled sound collections. Especially not when competitors offer much more realistic modeling based synthesis for considerably less while supporting MPE and polyphonic aftertouch.

### 1/5 — Preço não é acessível

*2024-06-26*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it! ❤️✨

*2026-06-23*

Pianoteq 8 is a beautiful program! The only limitations you could have when using it, is the limitations you place upon yourself as a musician. And, whatever hardware you’re running it through. Spend the money, get a really good weighted midi keyboard, and you could do concerts with this program…I have! Much love and thanks to the designers of this program.

### 5/5 — Most expressive piano

*2025-10-24*

it is simply the most expressive one by far. Really worth the price!!!
Some very unfair reviews here.

Ruybatera, some notes not working because you are in demo mode. Try buying the app.

The price is high because it is simply one of the best sounding pianos in any platform. If you buy the desktop version you also get the iOS one. Really nice'

### 5/5 — Maravilhoso

*2025-10-18*

O melhor de todos

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-10-18, version 8.4.4*

Works as well on my iPad Air M3 as it does on my PC and Mac Mini M4.
Thanks so much for including all the versions for one price

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-10-17*

Unfortunately with version 9 release, I need to download a new app and pay again for upgrade.

### 5/5 — Best IOS Piano

*2025-10-16, version 8.4.4*

The search is over ! Definitely the best for that amazing sounds of Pianos ! My go 2

### 5/5 — The best of the best

*2025-10-15*

Simply put. The best of the best.
If you are into any sort of piano work but do not have the space or money for acoustic / vintage electric pianos. This is a must have bar none. The fact that your account crosses over from iOS to windows/mac/linux is a breath of fresh air amongst developers and I hope (but highly doubt) that other devs follow in modartts footsteps.

### 5/5 — Second to none

*2025-10-13*

As a professional pianist I’ve chosen Pianoteq as my go-to virtual piano library. The sound modeling is unparalleled and the output is indistinguishable from a recording of an acoustic piano. I’ve spent plenty of time with digital workstations that cost upwards of $1000, enjoyed the sound for a time until my ears get attuned to the little details that give away the fact that it’s not a real piano. This is not the case with Pianoteq.

All that to say, if you are serious about your piano performance sound but cannot afford an actual grand piano, this is the software for you.

As far as the rest of the app goes, it’s plug and play with a midi controller, no hiccups, perfectly fine interface, easy recording and playback, midi export, wav export, plenty of velocity curve profiles and everything else related to tweaking the feel/sound of the piano. Thank you Modartt!

### 5/5 — If play piano you should try Pianoteq

*2025-09-04, version 8.4.3*

Cutting edge Piano Tech that plays on your iPhone…that is sick!
