PianoTrail helps you turn the chords you already know into real music. Start from scratch, or learn to turn what you know into accompaniments with rhythm and style. Download PianoTrail for free and try a selection of trails and exercises before buying. The visual Chord and Scale Dictionary is always free. Place your iPhone, iPad or Mac by the piano. Pick a path for your level and move forward step by step: every stage connects a skill, an explanation, and a guided practice. You don't need to know how to read sheet music to start. A PATH TO LEARN Just starting out? Get to know the keyboard, place your hands, and learn to coordinate them at your own pace. Already know a few chords? Discover how to link them and bring them to life with accompaniment patterns in pop, rock, blues, jazz, and gospel. Explore 49 learning trails and 563 practice stages, from beginner to advanced levels. The exercises are part of a journey: you understand an idea, practice it, and move on to the next challenge. LISTEN, UNDERSTAND, AND PLAY • Follow the practice with a visual keyboard, dynamic notation, and fingering guides. • Slow the tempo down and prepare the next notes and chords. • Practice with a metronome and piano and drum accompaniment. • Look up the lesson and exercise instructions whenever you need them. • Study with an immersive reader that explains the technical and musical context of every stage. BRING WHAT YOU LEARN TO YOUR MUSIC Train skills in the Rhythmic Labs and Scales Lab and apply them in guided trails or when playing your own songs. Follow learning trails for chords, accompaniment patterns, and progressions. Explore 128 scales across 14 families, too. Build the skills to accompany your favorite songs, improvise, and interpret lead sheets with greater independence. The visual Chord and Scale Dictionary lets you search, listen, and understand notes, formulas, intervals, and inversions. MIDI FOR YOUR PIANO Connect a compatible MIDI keyboard via USB or Bluetooth to receive the notes you play. MIDI Feedback is currently experimental and can be enabled using the button above the score in LeadSheet Studio and Scales Lab. Sending exercise playback via MIDI OUT is not available yet. AT YOUR PACE, NO SUBSCRIPTIONS Additional content comes in packs of learning trails and exercises. Choose the ones you want: each pack is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. For your first purchase, PianoTrail Complete brings together Start, Next and Styles 01–03 in one purchase: the entire current paid catalogue. Some trails and exercises require their corresponding pack. Use the same Apple Account to restore your packs on iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple silicon without buying them again. All six packs support Family Sharing when your family has Apple's Purchase Sharing enabled. Practice without depending on a continuous connection. Exercises work with the included piano sound, with no extra download. For eligible content, you can optionally download Piano HD for higher-quality piano sound. Your progress stays on your device.
