Great song selections with some great obscure songs I need. The piano accompaniments are also excellent! The tracks are played by professionals, some of the best in the business. Typically their services would cost hundreds of $$$ per track. These are yours forever, for the price of a large overpriced coffee. Part tracks are very helpful. I like that the tenor tracks are recorded in the right octave. Catalog is constantly growing. Only downside, is if you are using it to rehearse for a show, some of the dance breaks are edited out. Thank you guys for all you do! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Flawed tracks and poor customer service *2022-05-26, version 4.0* Be aware that some tracks contain mistakes outside the 30-second preview that make them unusable. The much-vaunted refund or exchange policy does not apply if you use the app rather than the website. On learning what a hassle a refund would be, I asked for an exchange instead. My request has been ignored. I am deleting the app — this one is expensive roulette as to whether you actually get what you buy. PianoTrax is perfect because it lets you browse songs by genre/era, and it has even the most obscure MT songs. The tracks themselves are very professional and are super easy to use. Sensitive piano accompaniment, and if it’s the wrong edition PianoTrax will do their best to upload the correct one. It will even play the melody for the students so they can make sure that they’re singing the correct melody line (because how many times have we had a student do that as well?) I like that you can purchase songs individually that get added to your library as opposed to a subscription. Thanks PianoTrax! Sometimes get stuck in the “Select pitch and tempo” scroller. I also think this subscription would be very useful to college and high school students who plan to pursue a career in the arts. You can explore new songs, find new composers, get perfect audition cuts, and have top quality sound with the click of a few buttons! As someone who doesn’t play piano it’s great to know I can probably find what I need here and I can also transpose it to fit well with my voice. What’s not to like? ### 5/5 — Life-saver for auditions *2023-03-18* I use this app to record self-tapes — it’s helped me tremendously over the years to have the capacity to playback selections in different keys. They sometimes even have a shorter cut that is super useful when the submission requires 32 bars, etc. I enjoy the capacity to slow down speed in the app and wish it was easier to download the tracks to my laptop with the adjusted speed. These adjustments you still have to request when downloading, which I tend to override because of turnover time for auditions (I record on my phone and use my laptop for playback, so cannot use the app when recording). Otherwise, this has been super useful as a tool for auditions. I even use it to practice for live auditions, just so I can get a better feel for the accents and tempo markings in the score. Thanks for a reliable, flexible app with a huge selection of scores!
