Please fix it! ### 1/5 — Completely Useless *2024-03-26* I have given up on trying to use this app. Every time I want to use it to look at Piazza on my phone, I try to log in only to get vague “Please authenticate” errors. I then try to authenticate by going down and authenticating through my institution (horrible UI by the way - why even have a sign in if won’t work without a completely separate sign in). But yet, this doesn’t work either - I successfully sign in only to get stuck at an “Authenticating” page. As it is, even once in, the app is extremely buggy and crashes often. It seems like it’s mostly an embedded webpage of Piazza, which is already an unstable and bloated web service. So, as I said, I’ve given up. I just sign in through Canvas on my phone now and look at the embedded Piazza page there. It’s definitely not ideal, but hey, nothing about Piazza is. ### 3/5 — app is way worse than website also add dislike button *2024-03-21, version 4.2.35.2* hate how you cant see the amount of good questions like in the website. also the ui is lowkey doodoo unlike the website where you can actually scroll properly. also add dislike button for when someone replies to your question with the most useless response ever. ### 1/5 — I hope you like signing in *2024-03-11, version 4.2.35.2* I hope you like signing in every single day because piazza sure likes when you do. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2024-03-08, version 4.2.35.2* The only feature of this app that’s worth your time is number on the icon that shows how many unread posts there are at a glance. Beyond that: - it crashes often as soon as you hit create a post - it will let you spend minutes writing a reply, then delete it with an error message when you hit post. Looking through the reviews I’m puzzled as to why Piazza has not fixed these problems. One of my students could do this as a summer project. ### 3/5 — Keeps adding classes *2024-03-06, version 4.2.35.2* App is fine but keeps adding back classes I’ve dropped so I have to keep manually dropping them and it’s getting annoying. It’s slow and although it shows information that is useful sometimes the cons out way the pros. First of all why is it that when I upload pictures it either doesn’t work or takes years. And not only that why are they only distinguishable by DATE. Literally code them by pic 1 and pic 2 would be infinitely more useful. Why would you choose this. Also why is everything so slow. Image previews don’t show up at all. There’s no way to see the course management interface. You can’t mark answers as good/bad. Every time you try to do something else you can in the web it doesn’t work, and creates frustrating surprises (bad ones) at every opportunity. It’s really just an excuse for Piazza to be able to claim them have an app. They’re not serious about it and their lack of interest shows. ### 2/5 — 2023, but they still can’t afford decent iOS devs *2023-10-26* The app was bad to begin with, but somehow it became even worse in the past couple years. To the point that I feel compelled to write a review. It’s very sluggish, unresponsive and buggy. It takes at least two attempts to log in every time (with the new way of logging through the institution’s auth system). When tapping on a question/note, sometimes it just wouldn’t load. The editor is obsolete and very inconvenient (try typing a LaTeX equation in there, with switching keyboard layouts to type those double $$ signs). It lacks some of the features of the website version, like seeing if someone likes a comment or a post, or some options that are available for instructors. The list goes on. It seems that it logs you out on each open, so is no better than simply using the browser. Honestly, Piazza needs to fire the entire team of people involved in this app's most recent 2025 update, because even though the app left much to be desired before the update, afterwards, the update made the app 10,000 times worse. Worse to the point of pathetic. The update is so bad, I'm surprised the computers these coders worked on didn't simply explode in these peoples' faces bad. I'm talking about the kind of bad in which I would not be surprised if Piazza entered the news because it releases every single client's personal information to the public. Honestly, I don't even feel safe putting my personal information into this website/app anymore because I am afraid of it's getting released to the world. If I were a company, I'd make my marketing message the login credentials, because I know Piazza would do a better job at publishing the "password" and other "personal" information better than best marketing team ever could. Piazza, please fire these coders immediately, and tell them never to come back! ### 1/5 — Getting Worse *2025-08-18* Before the last update the app was tolerable though it required logging back in every seven days. Post update it’s unusable.
