Is what I expected or hoped for *2021-06-22, version 6.00* It didn’t even remove basic glare. I will explain. I downloaded this app to avoid using my scanner to digitize a few hundred pictures I have. I have used in the past the Google app (Snapseed I believe is the name) and it worked ok, I just didn’t like the limitations in resolution. That was a few years ago, now that started using it again and it adds advertisement at the bottom of the scanned image in the form of the app name. No way to remove it as fast as I can tell even if you pay for an app. On the plus side the scanning is fantastic. Removes glare and imperfections and produces an extremely high quality image given the fact that is uses a (old) printed image as the source material. Then I purchased pic scanner thinking it would be better, as the title states it was not. I scanned my first image and it did not remove the glare from the picture. I understand why, it did not make me move the phone around to scan the image to stitch the pieces together to eliminate the glare. That alone made me upset. I looked in setting to see if there is a way to remove said glare but no, tells you that before you scan to make sure there is no glare on the image. That makes it impractical to use as I hoped for something which would make it easy to scan despite less than ideal conditions. I am going back to the flat bead scanner again to scan my pictures, slow yes, but no glare and actually something I can edit later. If you don’t mind the glare or limitations of the app, then go ahead and get it. For $4 it might be worth it for some but not in my case. Maybe I did not read/find it in the review but if I had known it does not remove the glare that is a deal breaker for me. Hopefully they can improve so it can eliminate glare or just make the instructions on how to scan more prominent on the description of the app, including the fact that in order to not see glare on the scan you must make sure is not there in the first place when you scan. The rest of the features seem ok but rather pointless to me as I can’t use anything unless I have a glare free image. That is the reason for a single start, it can’t do what is in my option one of the most basic fiction of an image scanner, to produce and image without glare. ### 1/5 — Rubbish and didn’t work *2021-05-24, version 6.00* So £4 down the drain, bought to speed up capturing friends old photos for big birthday - after an hour I gave up and went back to my flat bed scanner and a long night.. didn’t detect picture edges, resolution poor on an iPhone 11 and for me an utter waste of money and crucially time ### 5/5 — Brilliant! *2021-05-09, version 6.00* Easy to use and create albums from old photos. What do I do now? ### 1/5 — How is this a useful app? *2021-03-10, version 6.00* I have played with this thing for days, trying to find a setup that would allow me to scan multiple photos at once and then have the separate pictures ready to edit. Photos don’t lay flat, and the camera must be absolutely level or the pics appear distorted. Cover the photos with a piece of glass and the reflection is always there. Using a tripod, mounting the camera is finicky and time consuming and the results are always garbage. I’m going back to my printer/scanner. Slow, but at least I can get a superior scanned photo. With four 3.5" x 5" pictures on each page, the app would usually only "find" one large picture - sometimes two. It worked fine on a super old photo album I had with black paper background and corner picture mounts, but nothing doing on a white background, which is what many of my old photo albums are. ### 1/5 — So far it’s a huge disappointment *2022-12-22, version 6.20* I don’t want these “scans” to be the photos I keep forever.
