None of my touches input because the search bar is where the camera is ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work. *2024-11-22* This app crashes every time I have tried to direct stream from my iPad to it. There are instructions on the internet that claims it works, but I have never got it to consistently work for a long time now. Doesn’t matter if I reset the stream key, it just crashes the stream even if it seems to work for a little while. I resulted to using Twitch, which has worked every time, but because of twitch rules, I cannot be free to stream my paintings without heave censorship. A trade off for an app that works as intended. ### 2/5 — Outdated *2024-10-19, version 2.0.19* Needs an update, been 3 years, ok to watch vods, can’t watch live ### 1/5 — nothing really works *2024-10-14* i just got this app and i’m already having a stressful time trying to use it. doesn’t save any preferences at all, i didn’t see a button to hit to save anything. the settings button is right underneath your battery icon so it’s difficult to hit also it takes a couple of tries just to change to a different page and it’s over all slow and i can’t even watch streams off the app. it’s just a blank screen. The “forgot password” feature doesn’t even work most of the time. It keeps asking to open the browser for no reason. Streams randomly die. It’s awful. ### 1/5 — No streaming option *2024-01-08, version 2.0.19* It claims to have a streaming option For the iPad but there is no camera button or way to stream. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed app, feels very basic *2023-12-28* The app feels like it was designed by someone who barely has a grasp on designing a phone app. Everything feels very basic and a lot of the buttons are pretty much unusable if your using any iPhone that has a full screen, since those buttons are end up being covered by the battery and clock icons and therefore cannot be pressed. Please redesign this app, or hire someone who actually knows how to design one. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2023-12-18* It barely works. Opening a stream floods you with five to ten “open in browser” requests. You can’t even reset your password since the “reset password” feature takes you to some dead stream for some reason, so tough luck if you forget it. It randomly crashes for seemingly no apparent reason. Screen isn’t fixed for iPhone 14 pro max so it’s almost impossible to press some buttons. And despite turning on mature content none of it works, even in the past when I downloaded it on my old phone where non mature streams did work. ### 1/5 — Poorly Made *2023-05-16* While the app may work for some, the UI is nearly completely incompatible with newer iPhones due to the search bar being hidden underneath the built-in notch. Furthermore, the app asks to send the user into the phone’s browser to watch the stream, which seems fo nullify the very reason why one would want to use the app in the first place. The most glaring issue is the fact that streams simply do not load. Only the chat loads. There is no workaround I could find outside of uninstalling altogether and using the web client. ### 1/5 — Worthless Picture in Picture *2023-05-15, version 2.0.19* I still don’t know how to make PiP to work, but when it accidentally does it does not play ### 1/5 — This should not be on the iOS App Store. *2023-05-14, version 2.0.19* Picarto was once a wonderful streaming app for artists, and it had great potential. Both android and iOS app versions have been without updates for two years. However, where android at least has a go live feature in-app, Picarto on iOS does not. Even the stream keys can’t be accessed except on the Safari browser. I have tried using the third-party app, Streamlabs, to work with Picarto on iOS. I was consequently met with a cut stream and an error message stating: “Invalid screen-broadcasting session.” This occurred multiple times and is apparently common with Picarto on iPad. There is no consistent, clear method for streaming to Picarto from iPad as of now. While the app can be used to let iOS users watch streams, it should only be advertised as a viewing app, not a streaming one. If Picarto for mobile has been abandoned, okay. If it has been discarded in favor of desktop, okay. That is up to the discretion of the owners and the company. It just feels like such a loss when iPads are used so often in the digital art industry. Rest in peace, Picarto for iOS. You had such a bright future. ### 1/5 — Can't even get past the first step *2023-03-19, version 2.0.19* I'm using on iPad and tapping the login text bar doesn't even open the on-screen keyboard to let me type my username or password. The support link is obsolete as well. Just seems like an abondoned app, sadly. Don't waste your time. ### 1/5 — needs an overhaul, stat! *2023-02-18, version 2.0.19* using this app is like pulling teeth. at the time of writing this (february, 2023), the app is set up in a way that it is very difficult to use. i have a phone with a notch in the screen for my selfie camera and speaker, the app does not account for UI features being underneath the clock and battery/wifi/signal icons for my model of phone. the emote search is clunky. and more! this app does not reflect the active community and well-done website design on picarto.tv! please take the time and money to fully redo this app! it is very unpleasant! ### 1/5 — Too much porn, not enough filtering *2022-12-28* TLDR: If you’re ok with seeing porn art, use the website and not the app. If you aren’t okay with seeing porn art, avoid this service. As many others have noted, the app has TONS of porn, and while there is a setting to hide NSFW content, it relies on the streamer/artist following the rules and marking the content properly. I know for a fact that some artists will actively mark their stream as SFW in the settings so that it is more visible. Some of these artists at least have the courtesy to put the letters “NSFW” in the title of the stream, even though they marked it as SFW in the settings. Though this method of marking it makes it impossible to filter them out, and a preview of the stream will show up on your screen when browsing, whether you like it or not. There doesn’t seem to be any system in place to flag these streams as being NSFW. If you’re okay with seeing porn, then it’s actually a great service, but on top of the content issues, the app itself is very slow, and you’re lucky if it responds at all half the time. Best to use the web browser, which I believe is fully functional on mobile. I just wish this service was more reliable with blocking NSFW content, because I LOVE the idea of an artist centric streaming platform. ### 1/5 — Live-streaming doesnt work *2022-11-08, version 2.0.19* I was hoping to live stream with this art oriented site, but theres no option to stream with my ipad. I click on my pfp snd it sends me to a blank screen that shows a chat box. I didnt even get the option to chose what i wanted to stream and showed no selection. This app is ultimately useless in the streaming department. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App doesn’t want to exist *2026-01-23* I can log in and view stream chats, but if I try to watch them the stream video is not there, however I get 2 iphone pop ups wanting to redirect me to one of my search engines to watch the stream in a new tab, however they dont work. So even your own app is telling me to not use it, attempts to open a more competent app in the process to serve its function instead, and fails to do that as well. Your app is telling me it doesn’t want to exist ### 1/5 — Can’t even register *2025-12-08, version 2.0.19* Completely unusable app cannot even figure out how to send and authorization email ### 1/5 — It’s most likely abandoned *2025-11-17, version 2.0.19* Despite being an official app, the devs update this once in a blue moon. It’s bad enough that Picarto is really wonky over on desktop, it’s unforgivable that they let the app version to rot in a very obsolete state.
