### 3/5 — Meh

*2026-06-30*

I used it for a while. I invested a lot of time into it, but got fed up and switched to another cheaper non-subscription app.

This app is just too buggy. Too slow. And too weird.

The text outline feature looks visually wrong, sometimes when you can export images and manually upload, other times it exports the wrong sized image and apple rejects them. Sometimes the exported images are distorted. Sometimes they are fine. Sometimes a new update is released that crashes on startup right in the middle of your workflow. When you type in the canvas the letters lag behind even on an M4 MacBook Pro.

It has some good things, the localization features are nice, but literally every screenshot app does that now and there are several that cost less. I like the auto upload feature but not that I have to quit the app and re-open for it to recognize my App Store Connect app status changes.

The last straw for me was when I realized that device frames are localized (you can have one device frame per language) but images WITHOUT a frame are not localized (it persists the last image you added, so if you add an image to USA, then France, both USA and France have the France image). Why localize device frames but not non-framed screenshots?

Anyway I’ve moved on - it’s not a terrible app - I like what they are trying to do but ultimately it’s too buggy slow and too expensive.

The developer is also not responsive enough to my requests for help with some of the issues I had.

**Developer response:** Hi there! Picasso 3.3.1 fixes this, please update it. Thanks to the community for sharing the necessary feedback to fix it.

### 3/5 — OK Basics, but confusing and buggy

*2026-06-17*

I wanted to like this app and hope that it would help me create MAS screenshots. But it’s frustrating to use.

1. It doesn’t support basic copy/paste, so unless your images are files, you you have to use the import image feature.
2. The app constantly hangs on simple dialogs like open/save and then has to be force quit
3. I dont know what auto generate does. I pressed it, and it doesn’t do anything
4. I want to use the pre baked device images and paste screenshots of my app in there, but it keeps saying the resolution is wrong and does not guide me on what or how to generate those resolutions. And the resolutions don’t match the device that I have selected.

I like the gradients and placement rulers and snap guides, but everything else about the app is extremely frustrating to use because it’s just hidden in menus, and the dual window view of managing the screenshots is confusing and cumbersome.

### 4/5 — Buggy…

*2026-04-16*

I really like this app in concept, the tools are good and localization features are a game changer. I used it to make all my app screenshots in 4 languages.

Then I ran into bugs. The app originally exported perfectly, then after one update it exported weird distorted images, then after another update that was fixed but it exported the wrong sized, images, then that was fixed then there was an update that crashed on startup, the next update fixed it…. There definitely isn’t enough emphasis form the developer on quality control. I emailed the developer multiple times and only got a response to 1 of my emails after many months so support isn’t great either.

With those caveats, I’ve gone back to using the app because the international features are actually useful. So before you buy, know that it’s maybe not the most reliable app ever, but when it works it is nice.

If it wasn’t so buggy I’d buy lifetime in a heartbeat but as it is I never know if the next update will work properly or not…

**Developer response:** Hi there! Picasso 3.3.1 fixes this, please update it. Thanks to the community for sharing the necessary feedback to fix it.

### 2/5 — Crashes all the time, can’t sign in

*2026-04-15*

When it works it’s fine but at the moment opening the app on iPad crashes immediately, reinstalling did not help. I’ve for months now been unable to log in on Mac as well (I don’t remember but I think it never sent me an email link to log in, or it did and clicking it opened the app and did nothing).

So I’m giving up on this app because I obviously need a production-ready app for screenshots.

### 2/5 — Collects emails

*2026-03-11, version 3.4*

Start app by asking for email is a very bad idea, I even did not see interface yet, do not know what is the app and would I need it or not. Yet, author already wants valid email. Ok, I will block it later. Regardless of the features, this itself does not worth more than 2 stars

### 4/5 — Buggy…

*2026-02-25*

I really like this app in concept, the tools are good and localization features are a game changer. I used it to make all my app screenshots in 4 languages.

Then I ran into bugs. The app originally exported perfectly, then after one update it exported weird distorted images, then after another update that was fixed but it exported the wrong sized, images, then that was fixed etc. There definitely isn’t enough emphasis form the developer on quality control. Then with the most recent update it crashes too frequently. I emailed the developer and only got a response after multiple months so support isn’t great either.

With those caveats, I’ve gone back to using the app because the international features are actually useful. So before you buy, know that it’s maybe not the most reliable app ever, but when it works it is nice.

If it wasn’t so buggy I’d buy lifetime in a hardhat but as it is I never know if the next update will work properly or not…

### 3/5 — Not bad but keeps crashing

*2026-02-25*

The app is decent enough, but it’s full of bugs. Half the time I’m trying to insert a new element into a screenshot the app just crashes. Every time I want to change an image the photo picker collapses. Would be 5 starts if it didn’t crash.

### 2/5 — Good idea, lacks execution

*2026-01-27, version 3.4*

Designing in the app is super easy and intuitive. I am having lots of issues uploading. The app seems to be uploading blank transparent images instead of my screenshots and then complains that my Apple Store app already has 10 screenshots. Also the export feature is the wrong amount of pixels!

### 2/5 — Meh

*2026-01-14, version 3.4*

Functional, but horrendously slow. No undo when editing screens until you close the editor window.

Poor type support: Forget about making a word bold or italic. No kerning support, so letters run together awkwardly. No leading options.

Did I mention it was sloooooooooooow? Running it on M1 Max.

FFS, “White” in the color picker is #FEFEFE !!!

Good luck!

### 4/5 — Nice but not Deep

*2025-12-02, version 3.4*

There were some bugs and we need way more templates.

### 3/5 — Randomly deletes data

*2025-11-10*

Saving the project feels wonky. I had a project that I opened and closed several times over various days. Then one day I tried opening it, and that deleted the entire project file to the basic 70KB template. FFS

### 5/5 — Super easy to use

*2025-09-24*

Super easy and it works, loved it 🔥

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-09-22, version 3.4*

They listened to feedback and now the app is working great

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — A screenshot app doesn’t need an account

*2026-04-30, version 3.5.1*

Didn’t even use the app, but it immediately asks for your email and there’s no way to see how the app would even work without doing so. Just garbage behavior that is completely unnecessary.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on Tahoe

*2025-12-24*

Several people have reported an issue installing on Tahoe on their website, not response, not feedback, very poor and now looking for an alternative based on the lack of communication.

Update: Recently received a promotional email with a reply email address, that doesn’t work, email bounced back

### 1/5 — Major bug blocks all progress

*2025-11-10, version 3.4*

The app seems great. Very easy to add screenshots, text and images. However, when I try to export my work into screenshots for App Store submission, I only get a bunch of black screens. No matter what I do, I can’t generate any screenshots. So effectively, this means the app doesn’t work. I hope the dev looks into this asap. I’ll update my review once the bug is fixed.

### 1/5 — not able to login

*2025-10-20*

I am not getting email from Picasso to sign up and begin using the service

**Developer response:** Please check inside your email the spam folder. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-10-09*

App is entirely unusable because you can’t get past the email request screen. Even after validating my email, opening the app just asks me to do the same thing over and over and over. Super disappointing.

Update: tried the recent fall 2025 version, still terrible. Seems literally nothing was updated. Can’t even select font weight. Complete junk.

**Developer response:** Hi! Picasso 3.4 fixes this, please update it. Thanks to the community for sharing the necessary feedback to fix it.

### 1/5 — App crashes frequently

*2025-09-27, version 3.4*

I was building my app screenshots, pressed the markup button, app froze & crashed. Did not save my work. Very buggy app

### 1/5 — Extortionate pricing

*2025-09-12*

This is a nice app, don’t get me wrong. Lots of nice well thought out features. I have apps with literal orders of magnitude more functionality for ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE less $. I was unable to see pricing on the website. So I downloaded it. I got hit with the paywall before taking my FIRST action. $4 / DAY! or $200 for “Lifetime” Given how folks release “Version 2” as a new app, lifetime isn’t that much of promise. I can make my own shots when compared to this price.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! The pricing issue has been fixed in the new macOS update. I offer weekly, monthly, yearly and lifetime plans, not daily. Thanks again!

### 1/5 — 😱 Export Broken

*2025-09-03*

As other have said. For now export is broken via AppStoreConnect or Filesystem. The screenshots are the wrong size. ARGH!!! 😱 This is the wrong time of year for the developer to abandon this

**Developer response:** Hey there! Picasso 3.3.1 fixes this, please update it. Thanks to the community for sharing the necessary feedback to fix it.

### 1/5 — Crasha per qualsiasi motivo

*2025-08-31, version 3.2*

Aggiungi uno screen: crash
Elimini uno screen: crash
Cambi un colore: crash
Ogni cosa che fai premi sempre command+S altrimenti rischi di perdere tutto il lavoro fatto!

### 1/5 — Image Frames exported with black background.

*2025-08-29*

I paid for lifetime subscription on this app.

When I export images using the image frame feature, the backgrounds aren’t transparent and are black. I submitted a bug report for this a while back with no reply and still no fix so I’ve resorted to a 1 star review.

The app has always had performance issues but I could overlook this because it did it’s job. Now i’m experiencing issues outside of performance I think it’s worth making other people aware this app seemingly doesn’t seem like it’s supported anymore.

**Developer response:** Hey there! Picasso 3.3.1 fixes this, please update it. Thanks to the community for sharing the necessary feedback to fix it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Makes it easy!

*2026-07-09*

Uploading and making updates to screenshots is not something that I have do to super frequently. However, Picasso makes it incredibly easy when I do, and for that I am very thankful! I should think back to when I made the screenshots with Picasso, it was also very easy to make nice looking screenshots. Very happy with this tool.

### 5/5 — App that actually works

*2026-03-20*

For independent developers looking to not waste time on the administrative parts of listing on the App Store, this has been a huge, huge help. Instead of bouncing around trying to learn Figma, Sketch, and Affinity, this did exactly what I wanted.
