Every club has one person running the session: names on a whiteboard, a mental note of who has played with whom, and the blame when somebody sits out twice in a row. Pickleball Mixer picks each round from what has actually happened, not from a fixed chart.

KEEP TWO PLAYERS APART
Some people should not be put together. Say that two players are never partners, or never share a court at all. The rule lives on the group, so you set it once and every session that group plays honours it - and one evening can add a rule for the night, or lift one, without changing the group. A court is left empty before a rule is broken, and you are told before you start if one cannot be met.

SCORES ONLY IF YOU WANT THEM
Recording a result is one tap: team 1, a tie, or team 2. For most sessions that is everything - no scores to type, nothing to add up. Turn score tracking on and each court offers a compact score sheet instead, with one-tap shortcuts for games to 11, 15 or 21. Scores give every player points for, points against and a differential, and turn the statistics screen into a ranked standings table.

EVERY COURT ITS OWN RULES
Each court carries its own format - open, mixed, women's or men's - and its own standard of play, which says what it means: Beginner, or Intermediate and up. Run a women's court, a beginners' court and two open courts side by side, and the matchmaker fills each one legally or leaves it empty rather than break the rule.

Zoom any court to full screen. The round timer goes full screen too, big enough to read from the far baseline, and it calls the one-minute warning and time's up out loud - so you can run the session without watching your phone. The countdown stays live on your lock screen.

WHEN THINGS CHANGE
People arrive late, leave early and swap courts. Anything you can set before a session you can change during it, on the same screen, and every edit is held until you apply it. Close the app or restart the phone and the session resumes where it was.

### 4.1.1 — 2026-08-25

The start of a session got rebuilt, and there is a new rule for who plays with whom.

SAVE A SETUP AND START FROM IT
If you run the same evening every week, you no longer rebuild it every week. Save the courts, the rules, the format and the round timer as a preset, name it, and start from it in one tap. Presets can be renamed, edited, deleted, and sent to whoever else runs your club.

A HOME SCREEN
The app used to open on the setup form whatever you came to do. It now opens on what you do next: a session in progress to resume, the setups you saved, your groups, and the evenings you have played. It only appears once you have something on it, so a first launch is the setup screen exactly as before.

KEEP TWO PLAYERS APART
Say that two people should never be partners, or never share a court at all. Rules live on the group, so you set them once and every session that group plays honours them. A single evening can add a rule for the night, or lift one, without changing the group.

The schedule keeps them. It will leave a court empty before it breaks one, and it tells you before you start if a rule cannot be met.

AN EVENING ENDS WITH A RESULT
Finishing used to ask whether to save. Now it shows the standings and names a winner, and every session is kept either way. Stop after four rounds of seven and you still get a result. If two players finish level the app says so rather than picking one, and lets you record the call you made.

The only question left is whether the night counts toward your group's lifetime records, and it is only asked when there is a group to count it toward.

HISTORY YOU CAN CLEAN UP
Saved sessions can be deleted, singly or in bulk. Deleting one does not touch anybody's lifetime record — the confirmation says what goes and what stays.

GROUPS TRAVEL
Send a group to another organizer as a file, with everybody's records intact.

COURTS
Each court's standard of play now says what it means: exactly that level, or that level and up. The session-wide switches are gone; a court carries its own rules and states them on the card.

IF YOU PLAN THE WHOLE EVENING UP FRONT
The rounds you have finished now sit above the rounds still to play, named and in order. Ticking one off used to drop it into a list at the foot of the screen labelled with nothing but a count, so the schedule looked as though it started at round two. Ticking one off can also be undone.

The quality summary above them folds to a single line once you have read it, so the schedule is what is on screen. And on the score keypad, tapping the number you just tapped clears it - which is the way back from a score entered under the wrong team.

ALSO
The setup screen and the mid-session editor became one screen shown twice, so anything you can do before a session you can do during it. Somebody who turns up late is checked in from the group's own list, and their games count toward the group like everybody else's. Every player edit is now held until you apply it, including partner links. A name can be corrected after it is typed.

### 3.18.3 — 2026-08-14

This one is all fixes, and most of them are about the guest who turns up on the night.

GUESTS WHO JOIN THE GROUP
Adding a guest to your group after the session now brings everything with them. The gender and standard of play you set at check-in come over, and so do the games they just played - they arrive with the same record as the people they played against, instead of as a stranger who has never played.

You can add them whether or not you saved the session. Keeping the evening and keeping the player are separate decisions, and only the second one is about them. If you did not save it, nobody was credited for that evening, so they join with an empty record rather than one nobody else got.

With more than one guest you now choose which of them. "Played as a guest tonight" and "is one of us now" are different things, and only you know which is which.

And a guest is for that night. They used to be added to the next session again automatically, beside the member they had just become.

GROUP RECORDS
Resetting a group's stats now stays reset. It cleared on screen and came back - and worse, an ordinary edit afterwards, a rename or adding somebody, could put the cleared records back for real.

A group's roster and member count now update the moment they change, rather than the next time you open the group.

ALSO
Adding a guest no longer opens the keyboard over the field you are typing into. The offer to add guests has a visible way to say no. A group's statistics are always one tap away, not only once somebody has played. The statistics table no longer shows a checkbox that never did anything. And the court rules hint points at Courts, which is where the courts are.

### 3.18.2 — 2026-08-12

Groups: the same twelve names, no longer retyped every Monday.

GROUPS
Keep a roster between sessions. Pick your group, tick off who turned up, and start - and what everybody does that evening goes into their record.

Checking in never edits the group. Twenty members with twelve here tonight leaves the other eight untouched, because "Priya isn't here this week" and "Priya has left the group" are different things and only you know which you mean. Everyone starts ticked, so the short job is un-ticking the absentees, and un-ticking dims a row where it stands instead of moving it under your finger. You are told the consequence while you are still deciding: 18 in, 4 courts, 2 sitting out each round.

Guests are for tonight only. Added at check-in, marked as guests, and never quietly turned into members.

Every member carries a lifetime record across the sessions played with the group - games, wins, win percentage and points - with the honesty those numbers need. Score tracking is a per-session setting, so the table tells you when points come from only some of the evenings rather than quietly averaging them in.

You can also build a group from a session you have already played, including sessions recorded long before groups existed. It matches players by name and shows you exactly what would change before anything is committed.

COURTS BY STANDARD OF PLAY
Each court can be set aside as Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, matched two ways. Exact: a Beginner court seats beginners and nobody else. Minimum: the level is a floor, so an Intermediate court also seats advanced players. Tag your players, and mark anyone who would rather sit out than play a lower court - that is a promise, and they will sit. If someone has no court they can play on, you are told before the session starts rather than at round three.

THE APP HAS BEEN REDESIGNED
Every screen has been through one design system, and there is now a light mode as well as dark - or it follows whatever your phone is set to. The colours were re-picked for the surface this app is actually read on: outdoors, in sun, at arm's length.

NAMES YOU CAN READ FROM THE FAR BASELINE
Player names on court are roughly twice the size they were. They are sized from the court itself rather than being a fixed number, so the relationship holds on every screen, and long names wrap instead of shrinking away to nothing. This is the change to notice if you prop the phone up courtside.

STATISTICS THAT ANSWER THE QUESTION YOU CAME WITH
The statistics screen used to be a neutral table you sorted by hand. It now opens with the question you actually arrived with - is this fair? - and answers it: a one-word verdict, the spread in games, a chart of who has played how much, and who has played least and sat out most, by name. Nothing is claimed before there is an answer to give.

BEFORE YOU START, NOT AFTER
Pressing START used to be where you found out that two people sit out every round, or that a court you set aside cannot be filled. You are told first now, in one list, and only when there is something worth saying. What stops you looks different from what merely warns you.

A SETUP SCREEN THAT FITS ON A SCREEN
Everything past the roster sits behind named rows that tell you their current setting without being opened - "3 courts, 2 sitting out each round", "Round timer, 12 minutes a round". Resume names the session it is offering instead of announcing that one exists.

ALSO
The app respects your phone's text size, and the controls that decide a session can be read out loud. Saved sessions load every time. The activity log is readable. Sharing a session no longer blanks the list. And the app opens without waiting three seconds first. Schedules list courts in order and fill Court 1 first, and a printed one carries the same badges as the screen. Resuming restores the lineup and round you left. Swaps report what happened, and editing no longer reshuffles a session. The full-screen timer keeps the screen awake.

### 2.2.1 — 2026-07-31

The update the reviews asked for: real scores, real standings, and a format for every court.

KEEP SCORE, NOT JUST WHO WON
Turn on score tracking and every court gets a score sheet, with one-tap shortcuts for games to 11, 15 and 21. The winner is worked out from the score, so you never pick a winner twice. Unusual scores are accepted - house rules vary, so the app advises rather than blocks. It is off by default: if tapping a winner is all you ever wanted, nothing has changed.

MATCHES CAN NOW BE TIES
Team 1, Team 2, or Tie. Ties are tracked separately, so players now carry a W/L/T record, and a tie counts as half a win in win percentage.

A REAL RANKED STANDINGS TABLE
The statistics screen now opens as standings, numbered and ordered by win percentage, then point difference, then points scored. New columns for points for, points against and differential appear once you have recorded a score, and stay hidden if you never do. Every column still sorts. The exported ranking and the one on screen now come from the same comparator, so the sheet you hand out matches the screen.

RESULTS IN PRE-DEFINED ROUNDS
Pre-generated schedules used to be read-only, so a club running its tournament from a printed schedule got no statistics and no ranking at all. Every scheduled match now takes a result - a winner, a tie or a full score - and each round shows how many results are still outstanding. Ticking a round off still just means "we played this".

EVERY COURT ITS OWN FORMAT
The single "Mixed Games" switch is gone. Each court now carries its own rule: open, mixed, women's or men's. Run a women's court next to a men's court next to two open courts, all in the same session. A court that cannot be filled legally is left empty instead of being filled with a lineup that breaks its own rule, and it never stops the other courts filling.

SCORES IN THE ACTIVITY LOG
Match entries now show the scoreline beside the result, and the CSV export gained columns for ties, points for, points against and point differential.

ALSO FIXED
Win percentage and several statistics now agree with each other in cases where they previously did not, and resuming a saved session no longer loses each court's format.
