## What is PicLoom?

Clean up your photo library with private, on-device AI, and keep the moments that matter. PicLoom recommends what to let go and why, sorts photos by what's in them, and helps you revisit your days and keep a journal. Your photos are analyzed on your iPhone and never uploaded.

- On-device AI cleanup. Start with Recommended: extra similar shots, blurry photos, large videos and expired tickets, each with a reason, and among similar shots the best one is suggested to keep. Or review by what's inside: people, scenery, cats, dogs, food and documents. When AI isn't sure, PicLoom asks, and your answer stays on your iPhone.

- Review one photo or video at a time. Swipe to keep it or add it to your deletion queue. Check your choices before confirming deletion through the system Photos prompt.

- Sort by type. Give screenshots, videos, Live Photos and blurry shots their own pile, sorted by date or size, and compare duplicates side by side to keep the best one.

- Swipe up into an album. Keep a photo and file it in one move, and pin the albums you use most above the card. Not sure yet? Swipe up to the thought bubble and decide later.

- Immersive review. Spread two fingers or swipe a few in a row, and only the photo is left. Swipe down to come back.

- Revisit a day. Browse your calendar and the photos and videos taken on each date, including Live Photos.

- Keep a journal. Write about a day in your own words or start from a template, add that day's activity rings from Apple Health, then return to your saved entries by month.

- Journal pages. Each day you keep becomes a page: four templates, four papers, washi tape and postmarks. Trips, holidays and birthdays are laid out for you automatically. Flip through your month like a book, turn it into a short video with music, or seal a page for your future self.

- See where you've been. The Footprints map places your photos on a satellite globe, city by city. Swipe for this day in past years or a random wander, and tap a city to revisit it month by month. Each trip is recognized automatically, so you can sort it in one go or save it as an album with Pro.

- See the small steps add up. Follow your reviewing activity in Footprints, collect keepsakes, and bring moments from the app to your Home Screen with widgets.

- Choose from seven interface languages and set a separate language for new journal drafts.

PicLoom is free to download with a daily reviewing allowance. Pro is an optional one-time purchase for unlimited reviewing, unlimited journal videos, trip albums in one tap, the current Pro themes and app icons, and the Pro keepsake. Future optional features or cloud services may require separate purchases or subscriptions.

Writing by hand and using templates do not require a cloud API key. Optional cloud writing uses your own key, and provider charges may apply. Sending photo attachments requires separate permission. On-device writing assistance depends on device and language support.

Core reviewing records and journal entries are stored locally. Photo locations are matched to cities on your device, and map imagery comes from Apple Maps. Apple Health activity is read on your device and never written. Duplicate, blur and content checks run only on this device, and nothing is uploaded. Photos are added to an album only when you choose; nothing is moved out of your library or edited. Optional place lookups for selected photos and optional cloud writing contact external services. No separate PicLoom account is required.

### 5/5 — I didn't expect to like a photo cleaner this much

*2026-10-07*

I love taking photos, so my camera roll is overflowing, and organizing them is a whole project. PicLoom finally got me to deal with it, mostly because it doesn't feel like a chore. You just swipe: left to toss, right to keep.

The new 1.3 update adds a Journal, and honestly it's the best part now. It turns your days into these little scrapbook-style pages, makes some of them on its own (like for trips), and lets you flip through each month like a book. There's even a time capsule you can lock and open later. Oh, and there's a map showing everywhere you've taken photos. Kind of addictive.

**Developer response:** appreciate all the love you give to me, I will keep bringing the new feature, and hope u like it ☺️

### 5/5 — 非常不错的相册软件

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.1 — 2026-10-11

What's new in 1.3.1:

• On-device AI cleanup: Recommended, a new pile at the top of the menu, gathers the photos you're most likely to let go, like extra similar shots, blurry photos, large videos and expired tickets, each with a reason. Among similar shots, AI suggests the best one to keep.
• What's inside: review People, Scenery, Cats, Dogs, Food and Documents, sorted by AI right on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded. When it isn't sure, PicLoom simply asks.
• Think again: not sure about a photo? Swipe up to the thought bubble and decide later.
• Time Stroll refreshed: a warm new page shows the day you're revisiting and how long ago it was, with each day's photos from morning to night.
• Footprints opens much faster: on a library of about 25,000 photos it's ready in about 1 second instead of 4.
• Keepsakes now appear the moment you earn them, right on your end-of-batch card.
• Share cards show bigger photos when there are only a few, and Messages now includes the card image.
• Settings tells you when a new version is available.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-07

What's new in 1.3:

• Journal pages: every saved day becomes a keepsake page. Pick from four templates and four papers, or shuffle for a fresh layout.
• Auto pages: trips, new cities, holidays, birthdays and activity milestones are laid out for you. Keep, edit or skip.
• Flip book: page through your monthly and yearly journals, or share them as images or a vertical video with music (3 free videos; unlimited with Pro).
• Time capsule: seal a page for your future self. You'll get a reminder when it opens, and you can add the date to your calendar.
• Journal widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
• A fresh look across every theme, and 9:16 share cards made for Stories.
• Haptics while reviewing: Standard, Gentle or Off.
• If iCloud can't connect, PicLoom now tells you why and opens Settings when that helps.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-04

What's new:

• Albums: swipe a photo up to keep it and file it into an album you choose. Pin the albums you use most so they're always one swipe away.
• Immersive review: spread two fingers or swipe 7 in a row and everything but the photo fades away. Batches keep coming without a break, and you get a short summary at the end. Swipe down to come back.
• Trips: the Footprints map recognizes each trip you take. Sort that trip's photos in one go; with Pro, save the whole trip as an album.
• New share cards: colors follow your theme, photos are blurred by default for privacy, and one tap shares.
• Faster: on an iPhone 12, a swipe now takes 6.0 ms instead of 9.3 ms, undo 12.8 ms instead of 17.1 ms, and returning to Review 16.9 ms instead of 41.6 ms (median times on our test device).
• Choose your theme and app icon separately, plus a new black-and-gold icon.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-01

What's new:

• Sort by type: tap the left tab at the top of Review again to switch to Photos, Live Photos, Videos, Screenshots or Blurry, and sort by newest, oldest or largest. Each pile keeps its own progress; Time Stroll stays the same.
• Duplicates and blurry shots: PicLoom finds identical copies, similar burst shots and blurry photos on this iPhone and preselects the ones to set aside. Favorites are never preselected. It opens on your latest duplicates, so you can work through the rest month by month, and anything you set aside can be changed before you confirm.
• A cleaner Review screen: the thumbnail row under the card is gone, so your photo shows larger.
• Footprints map: tap Take me to visit a place you've been, and tap a date on a card to open that day's album.
• Help puts each tutorial replay first, plus small fixes.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-30

What's new:

• Footprints map: your photos on a satellite globe, city by city. Swipe for this day in past years, your overview or a random wander. Tap a city to revisit its photos month by month, see the same place over the years, and look at how it is today.
• Activity in your journal: connect Apple Health to see that day's Move, Exercise and Stand rings and add them to an entry as a small stamp. While you write, tap the phrases above the keyboard to add that day's workouts or steps. Read-only: nothing is written to Health.
• Stories are now called Journal.
• City shortcuts: tap a city on a calendar day, a journal entry or a photo's details to fly to it on the map.
• A refreshed Review screen with Delete · Undo · Keep buttons, a calendar day album that matches Review, and redesigned photo details.
• Widgets show clearer review states and look better in light mode.
• Updated tutorials and a fix for occasional issues when the app moves to the background.
