### 3/5 — Great app, but developer abandoned it to resell the same app to you again as Pics 2! 👎👺

*2014-04-23, version 3.9*

This app is great especially for saving a password protected photo album, but what a distasteful move by the developer on April 2014 to cease improving this app and instead, release the very same app again as "Pics 2" for another $5.

Doesn't instill much confidence! If we pay the $5 for Pics 2, how long before its suddenly abandoned and we're asked to pay $10 for "Pics 3"?👺🚫

### 2/5 — Nice start... But

*2012-02-12, version 3.2*

At first glance is an interesting interface. But not very well organized nor functional. Could not rename nor even delete the photos. Guess if I were into beaming and posting and sharing it seems to have buttons for that. Deleting and going back yo built in program

### 4/5 — Slick App

*2012-02-01, version 3.2*

Very happy with this picture app. Will be giving this software serious workout. I have a few additions I'd like to see added in upcoming releases. 1) ability to watch slide shows by desktop or category. 2) Ability to rename desktops. 3) ability to change rotation during a slide show. 4) ability to play music durning a slide show. 5) more than four desktops. 6) ability to categorize albums. 7) ability to reorder without going to "Edit" panel. Perhaps a "Sort" button, then drag and drop album / images. 8) slicker looking icon. 9) Option to force images to fit-to-screen for slide show.

### 2/5 — Rate

*2012-01-11, version 3.2*

The app worked great before the update. It doesn't let me load zip files because it crashes after just loading 6 pics. It boots me out from both the app and then the web address. The app needs to undue the update or fix the problem. It still loads pics or videos one at a time though very good.

### 4/5 — Better than stock photo album

*2012-01-08, version 3.2*

I like the increased functionality of the app over the stock photo album controls apple gives you, I just wish the directions were a little more detailed, for example it mentions photo sort but then does not tell you how to use it. A little more user friendly would make this a perfect app for photos. I do like that it has a passworded section as well because many people use my IPad at home and this is my IPad I do have personal stuff I don't want everyone nosing around in.

### 3/5 — Safety Problem

*2011-12-23, version 3.2*

It is really good, but the reason i only give you 3 stars is that i can use the slides show to see the private locked folder without using password. Hope you can fix it.

### 4/5 — Great app! Beautiful

*2011-12-15, version 3.2*

I love how it looks like Windows Phone 7! And it's also great for hiding photos from certain peoples' eyes. ;)

Thank you for getting rid of the ugly icon. And for improving the load up speed. Though it isn't instant as it was advertised. Changed my rating to 4 stars.

Thanks!

### 3/5 — Need bug fix for new iOS 5

*2011-10-18, version 2.8*

The new iOS 5 now doesn't automatically update the camera roll pictures. You now have to reboot your iPod to refresh the list. Previous iOS worked well.

### 3/5 — No background progress

*2011-08-11, version 2.8*

It functions but not being able to work in the background and the fact that it duplicates files if they've already been synced makes this app not very good. Sad day. Cause it could be so useful!

### 2/5 — Not impressed

*2011-07-02, version 2.8*

The UI is confusing. There is no easy help screen. How does one organize the photos within an album? How to set up a new album? What does edit do? Overall the usage is cumbersome and not intuitive.

### 2/5 — It can organize, but...

*2011-06-17, version 2.8*

1. Pics uses Windows Phone 7’s “live tiles” interface, which looks and behaves very differently from Apple’s iOS environment, so be ready for a somewhat awkward user experience unless you find Microsoft’s tiles intuitive.

2. This app organizes photos by copying photos from the
“camera row” folder into its own folder structure, so duplicates will
exist on your iPad/Phone unless you delete your photos in the “camera row” folder afterwards.

3. This app’s Help section appears to be written by a non-native English speaker. I suggest Phyar Studio hire a professional editor who is a native English speaker to improve their documentation’s readability.

### 5/5 — Its a good app, but…

*2011-06-02, version 2.8*

Its a great app for transfuring pictures from my ipad to my iphone, but it takes a long time to save a long video.

### 4/5 — Good Job!

*2011-05-31, version 2.8*

Takes a little getting used to as the interface is not very intuitive. For those complaining about the inability to delete from the Camera Roll/Saved Photos directories, please understand that is an IOS constraint. When your photos are organized in new folders, you can delete the originals through the native app. Does what they claimed it would do - I'm satisfied.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2022-04-28, version 4.20*

App does sort any photos or give ability to categorize photos. Very slow to load and does not increase functionality over photos utility.

### 1/5 — Can't move photos; why would anyone pay money for this app?

*2012-04-10, version 3.3*

I only purchased this app because I wanted to organize my photos on my iPad, and not via a PC / Mac and iTunes. But guess what - this is not supported by this app. When I try to move photos from the 'saved photos' to a different album, I get a message saying the other album is synced with iTunes, and I therefore can't copy photos into it.

Which brings me to the question at the subject line: why would I buy this app in the first place?

### 1/5 — Disapointed

*2012-01-19, version 3.2*

Still can't name photos, change photos names or even see the names of any pictures or vides. Does basically what iphone already does. Nice layout with the folders and it is pretty but for those of us that really want to get in there and manage photos (not just arrange them into more albums) it falls very short of the mark. If this app had the ability to see and edit photo names it would be OK. Disappointed.

### 1/5 — Regretted purchasing this app

*2011-11-09, version 2.8*

I've experienced big compatibility problems with this app and the native photo app on the 4s. Photo orientation and editing (done using the native app) are not maintained in Pics. Syncing is very buggy. The design layout is nice but overall I regret purchasing. It's clearly a half-baked app at this point. Hopefully the developers will update and address these issues soon.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work if you have large photo albums on iPad

*2011-07-06, version 2.8*

I've had this app for a month and a half, but haven't been able to use it at all. The app just locks up showing half of the opening screen and won't let anything else happen. The explanation was from the site was that my photo album was too large.

### 1/5 — Pity!

*2011-07-02, version 2.8*

Loved it, till the upgrade lost most of my folders and a good portion of my pictures. I'm just sick! At present time it's worse than just a loss of money.
(edit: I found a FAR better app, that cost less and is much easier to use and even does more!....
Now that I've moved my remaining photos from this app to Photo+Folder, I'm deleting this one.)

### 1/5 — Huge Security Hole

*2011-05-22, version 2.6*

This is a nice looking app, but one of it's main features (password protected folders) is fatally broken. When your iphone is backed up, all "private" password protected pictures can be viewed by anyone with a program that is able to read backups. Be warned! Encrypt your iphone backups through iTunes, or risk your private photos being available to anyone who can get your easy to obtain backup and a free program from the internet. No wonder when I email them asking what type of encryption they used to protect photos they never responded back!!!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2011-05-22, version 2.6*

I downloaded this APP to my iPad2 since it states that I would be able to edit my albums (interested in being able to delete images in my photo albums). Unfortunately the delete function does not work. I am very disappointed since that was the primary function I was looking for.

### 1/5 — Misleading: doesn't move only copies

*2010-11-07, version 0*

Redundant memory use: doesn't move anything from camera roll so doesn't really organize anything- you still have all originals in camera roll. This glaring deficiency should have been required to be disclosed. I will try to obtain refund for wasted purchase.

### 2/5 — Unfinished

*2012-03-24, version 3.3*

When u swipe left in an album... What's with all the dead space on the right?

When u put in portrait mode.. Why do I see half of the menu text?

Maybe u can finish making an app before selling it, that would help make it less crappy.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — urgent

*2017-09-25, version 3.9*

hello
you need to develop this app to work with ios 11 plz

### 5/5 — Update fixed problem

*2013-10-22, version 3.8*

Thank you for the update that fixed the last update that made the program not work on my older iPad. Glad to see continued support on a really good product.

### 5/5 — The bad reviews are from those who don't understand it.

*2013-08-05, version 3.5*

Once you get it you will love it I have been using it for over a year. No chords to transfer to pc or other iPhone and it organized photos way better than apples nonsense. And you transfer your pictures to your pc the way you organized them n the phone. I do understand the frustration because I went through it but now I cannot remember what I could not figure out. It seems very intuitive. I honestly do not remember what I could not figure out. But finally submitted a review cause the developers do not deserve the wrath of laziness. Just use their help.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2012-07-21, version 3.3*

The only thing i have bad to say is that it needs to support backing up to icloud or itunes natively, the wifi sync in a browser is near flawless, only thing that needs to be added to that is when you change to the next page, like scrolling through photos, it resets the download count, so I have to download a page at a time, the other thing is that i wish it would support rar upload but that is something that isnt needed. Please consider adding the features i suggested.

### 5/5 — Pics for iPhone

*2012-03-18, version 3.3*

Ok, I'm going to give this one a 5. What's really useful is that this application allows you to have up to four separate desktops each with 2 to 4 folders. You can use a passcode to lock your desk and folders! To cool!
I like that I can set an image to display on a folder. He wifi transfer is pretty quick for video and image moves and I love the inner face. It's all you really need and well worth the $2!

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2012-01-30, version 3.2*

In addition to a really nice interface and password-protected folders, one of my favorite features is the Wi-Fi transfer feature. You can copy pictures and videos to (and from) your photos folder over WiFi without having to go through *@!* iTunes. You can even zip many pictures together and transfer them together in a single file and this App will unzip them into your photos folder automatically. This program actually duplicates pictures and photos from the Camera Roll, it doesn't just create and organize shortcuts.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2012-01-18, version 3.2*

This is great. It would be even better if they start a could service for our precious memories. :)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2011-12-15, version 3.2*

Thank you for making this not require iOS 5 anymore!!! I'd deleted it and couldn't reinstall bc I'm waiting for them to fix rumored battery issues to update. Was missing this app! Also glad to see the old icon return; I like it much more. Excellent update.

### 5/5 — Old icon back

*2011-12-14, version 3.2*

Great app. Perfect for upload pictures from PC and has a bright way to password protect albums.

### 5/5 — Fixed!!

*2011-12-14, version 3.2*

I updated this app today, and all the bugs are worked out and my pics are back! Wonderful!
